You’re cutting laminate, why don’t you do a demo cutting 5” wide hickory? Bc it won’t. You guys need to stop marketing these as “wood cutters” they are vinyl and laminate cutters and they are amazing for just that. To suggest that you can cut hardwood with these snappers seems insane.

We use a wallboarders Buddy drywall cutter for poly ISO as it is our go to insulation for all our homes in many applications. Simply score the paper on both sides and snap it like drywall.

Any body that breaks a long piece like that is an idiot. Even if it would be too short, you can always use it somewhere else. What this tells me that if anybody making videos endorses that kind of action is also an idiot, and does not deserve my money.

If you have to work with this material for a living youd know that this tool would pay for itself quick. Set up time is less(no hassling with cords/ generator), wearing a mask in the heat sucks, no worrying about osha fines for not wearing said mask, and last but not least quick and clean cuts will save a lot of time with new or seasoned workers🤷‍♂️ some guys cant cut straight for the life of em🤦‍♂️

I have an entire cabin to insulate with this stuff down in Texas, we're basically turning a 12x24 into a refrigerator, using high density 2x4 amvic insulation styrofoam panels. Looks like this blade is a life saver to me, and Home Depot stocks 'em.

Floor has to be less than HALF of the thickness of the trim to the wall, not just less than the full thickness of trim. Otherwise floor may shift fully to one side and leave a gap on the other side. Been there done that. :(

Question : Does the blade come down and touch the aluminum ? Or does it glide down past it like a scissors/shears ? I'm asking cos I just got one and the blade comes down onto the metal when you pull the handle . I thought it would go down past it . it seems like either the blade or aluminum could get ruined ?
@bullettools
@bullettools 4 жыл бұрын
The blade strikes the aluminum and should not bypass like a pair of scissors. This does not damage the blade, although the aluminum will eventually wear out (appx 50,000 cuts).

Take a flooring & installation class at your local community college. Here in Fayetteville,NC its only $125 . 1x a week for 3hrs... for a total of 48hrs of instruction... mistakes + learning curve will catch up to you... but this method is cost effective and stress free, if you go the DIY route..

Well he was going good on the first piece. Then nothing. How do you fasten it? No brads, nails or glue? Hmmmm..... Next thing that told me this guy knew nothing about 'trim" (including flooring) is showing the mitered corner for baseboard. You don't miter a corner installing base or other floor trim. Sad!

My floor has a carpet that I'll be replacing with a laminate floor. The carpet has a 1/2 in. Particle foam pad. Should I leave the old pad and lay the new laminate floor on top? I thought it help insulate the sound . Please advise. Thank you.
