For my mental exam i was asked to repeat the three words, ball, cat and ***** I don't remember the 3rd. After about three minutes i was asked that again and only remembered "ball" she probably thought I was faking. I have anxiety and panic disorder and PTSD, 58. Was on SSI 96-2000 but late wife became a RN and was removed from SSI. When she became disabled i reaplyed and was denied (2010) they said "even though we realize you're disabled we're denying you at this time because you're not receiving therapy. So now i just went to these two ladies, one was only a kid about 20 years old and asked me questions about 25 minutes, the Dr later cane in and asked me those four questions one to remember the three words. I'll get denied everyone does for mental unless you're scitzoprenic

They didn't want to see my paperwork or my medications! They said they had all the information already, well the paperwork they sent me told me to bring them. This was a mental exam. I have anxiety and panic disorder and PTSD. I'm 58 and was on SSI before my late wife became a Nurse. She took her life in 2016 and daughter OD'd from heroin in ,2013. They'll deny me and say i can drive and talk

My ex husband was denied social security benefits and found out the day he went into hospice. He had leukemia and died one week later. My eldest daughter replied to the denial letter by Social Security a copy of her father’s death certificate . The system is BS.

I have fibromyalgia for at least 20 years, I am so used to dealing with the aches and fatigue that I don’t think I even added it to my claim. I mentioned it to the SS doc as i was getting ready to leave and she asked about the pain, I asked of aches count as pain and she said yes and wrote it down.

Hi Doctor, have you ever heard of what is called "Empty Nose Syndrome"? And would that be considered a disability. I got this condition thanks to a very poorly performed surgery and it affects every aspect of my life because my breathing is impaired, which affetas my sleep quality, energy levels, ability to think and concentrate, ability to do strenuous labor, and so on. It has also cause me intermittent double vision. Basically, the nerves in my nose are paralyzed and i cannot feel myself breathe and dont have proper resistance for my lungs to work as they should, so im constantly in a state of shortness of breath/hyper or hypoventilation. This extreme condition is still not recognized by most healthcare professionals because it is SOLELY cause by healthcare professions, menaing only by elective surgery. Just wondering your thoughts on this and if you'd ever come across it.

I was diagnosed with PTSD avoidance exhausted my disability account and was going to collect for permanent. I had to go see their doctors I have a history since 27 sciatica and I was around 55 add arthritis in the lower back. The SSI doctors kept focusing in on my back and I kept telling him no I've worked with that I know what to do it's not my back I had to tell them I don't know how many times I can't focus I just can't do the work mentally. I had three appointments with the psychiatrist they gave me a series of tests. Anyways I never got denied once they pulled me out permanently.

Thank you, Dr Foster! This is excellent advice for Fibromyalgia claimants. Must have: 1. Pain in all 4 body quadrants. 2. 11 body parts of 18 points need to be painful. See list points in description. 3. Get a rheumatologist specialist to state medical opinion. Go to the Dr every 3 mths and note all pain pts. Don't say I'm OK. Keep a journal or diary of all pain.

Appreciate your.Uploads! The few people I know who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia tend to other main conditions as well.

I know of a young man trying for disability because of gout. He is trying to get out of paying court ordered child support. So my granddaughter is working 24/7 to raise 3 small children on her own. We have videos showing him jumping off the truck and running around it while helping his new girlfriend move heavy furniture. How long can he get away with this? It is shameful and so far nothing has happened, no payment. My granddaughter has said all along he will never pay no matter what the judge said. We have been told disability is not given for gout as it is controllable.

I have been diagnosed with cprs type 2 after surgery from an injury at work. My right knee is frozen and can’t bend my right knee. I have done a plethora of remedies and nothing has worked. The dr said there’s not much they can do for me in addition to the constant severe pain throughout the day. I’m a teacher where most of my daily job requirements is standing and moving around and have difficulty ambulating

Good on you for forseeing that you might get push back on your comments about FNS/conversion disorder/hysteria. Before we had germ theory, we were told that "artists" and "creatives" were more prone to tuberculosis, perhaps due to lifestyle choices, when in fact it was living in crowded squalor that was the risk factor that increased their tendency to catch tuberculosis. Before we fully understood cancer, we were told there was a "cancer personality" that was prone to cancer, that individuals with a high concienciousness were more likely to get a cancer diagnosis. Before HIV was understood we were told AIDS was a disease related to lifestyle, and was God's punishment for sin. Doctors understandably don't enjoy not having the answer to a patient's problems. It's a shame when they cope with the very normal fact that there is still more to learn in the field of medicine by blaming the patient. But the fact is that medicine is a field that is continuing to develop and advance all the time, and thank goodness for that! All praise to researchers who are raising the bar constantly. Long Covid is not studied enough yet for you to write it off as "hysteria". MEcfs is functionally very similar, and many people suffer from this condition with varying triggering infections. Please read the research that is being done on MEcfs and Long Covid before publicly claiming that a post-viral condition is "hysterical" in nature. Please read about post-viral malaise after the influenza pandemic of 1918 (called the Spanish Flu only because of a media blackout on the subject in other countries but not Spain) I very much appreciate your channel and the information you share so generously with everyone. You do a wonderful job of explaining information slowly and clearly, and along with the rewind function, it makes it easier to follow along.

Let me talk to ya!.....I have to say that I really believe in the Social Security system that is in place...after all they know what's best for us and they are doing everything in their power to make sure we as Americans are treated with the kindness dignity and respect. For example I love and respect the fact that if you are under 50 years old and can fog up a mirror that you will be denied no matter what ❤ also I love the fact that no one ever tells you about how the date last insured works...essentially you have a five year window not rive years and one day might I add but from the last job you worked and paid in taxes you have five years from that date to win your claim....keep in mind that if you are still under 50 at that time you will still lose disability ❤ as a person under 50 they have to rule out every job in the national economy whether it exists or not ...the important thing is that it could exist.❤ I love it. I also love the fact that you could have several severe listing level conditions with a renowned neurologist backing up your conditions as well as medical evidence from those lying mris smh. The point is with all of that they are still going to send you to a guy like this who is paid by Social security to find you not disabled....I love it you guys are so slick and no matter what your doctor says nor what the mris or scans show this guys 12 minute evaluation will bear more weight. ❤❤❤❤❤ Another thing that I love is that if you are awarded SSI which by the way 943 dollars a month is the absolute maximum...but don't worry you will never see that amount..it will be reduced by one third automatically if you are fortunate enough to be living with someone for free as you don't have any money because you can't work ❤❤❤😂❤ also the person you are living with...all their income is factored in to your claim...did I say that right? Oh yes I did your claim which has nothing to do with them. As well as if you have any assets such as a couple of vehicles that are older and don't run but are in your name and have a combined value of over 2000 dollars you are disqualified for ssi payments all together ❤❤❤❤❤❤ you guys are the greatest. Keep up the good work and keep destroying people's lives. You suck

Good one, Doc! Seems one lesson is to diary all illnesses that might happen so as to report it during Continuing Review. Bc, for example, I had Covid, digestive and #2 issues in March April May such that I could only focus on attending to that and it impacted my followup on an issue related to my disabilty, and also impacted my budget such that I also put off a proposed medication change the specialist wanted me to try. And I had an injured shoukder before that requiring cirtisone shits and physical therapy and a bunch of pricey dental work.. Point being, I document how I am doing the best I can managing priorities, and of course keeping in communication w the specialist and my PCP so my diary and my documentation aligns to w theirs. As I have heard you say, and maybe another disability channel, just so you seem engaged with the medical establishment and can always point to facts, all the different circles and rhythms of different aspects of health care of my self. Cheers

Keeping a record or a diary is a good idea. Also, you want to list ALL conditions that affect your ability to work, and how they limit your ability to work. When you apply for disability you want to list these conditions and how they limit you clearly - typing is best - remember, you can use as many extra sheets of paper as you need. If you get a Consultative Examination you want to do the same thing - describe all the conditions, and how they limit your ability to work. That is the best way to get your application approved.

@DisabilityExams

You'd be surprised. You have to be legally blind to qualify for Social Security Disability, which means your best vision with glasses is 20/200 or worse. One student in my medical school class was legally blind, and he completed med school and became a doctor.

Thank you , This was very informative, my son who is 27 has spinal stenosis in the upper back . The doctor did a surgery on his neck but it did not help the back pain due to a server scoliosis ( which they said surgery is 50/50 to bring relief or making it worse., He's also had shot's in his spine as well that did not work. He has tried twice to get disability & stopped trying. He won't take opioids because he has a very compulsive behavior and feels he would easily become addicted. He tried to commit suicide 6 mths ago because he's tired of hurting & trying to find help and not getting any relief for his constant pain & numbness 😢 I am going to send him this video.

I applied because I got to see spatial computing/metaverse without hardware. It’s crazy good biotechnology but beyond traumatic. I think I’m the only human being with it. I worked at Intel at the time and it happened at a hospital UPMC. Then I feel my body ears eyes move and you can see computer generated images and movies without hardware. It makes your body feel like it’s being torn apart. Honestly I wasnt sure if I was being tortured by the USA government.
