Need to listen to the live version from 77’. That was the best incarnation of the band. Felder on guitar and randy meisners high notes

That's not David Knopfler on rhythm........he left the band one year before. It's a young Hal Lindes on fire.

The studio version of this is one of the best songs for cruising. Even road tripping. It's nice that you enjoyed it so much. What I love about this clip is how much fun they're having. Making a living like that wouldn't suck.🤑🤑🤑🤑 Shout out to the production crew. The filmography of this LIVE concert is incredible.🤩🤩

They also have a song called The Game.. its played at 240 bpm. Simply insane, the drummer certainly has his work cut out for him. I have been to some concerts over the years and they never fail to entertain.

Brian used a 1930s Hallfredh acoustic guitar that he changed it by taking off the original bridge and putting a hardwood bridge on amongst other things to get a sound like a sitar.

If you want to see them at their peak, do the 1977 Capital Center in MD concert. That is what I would recommend. I've watched it numerous times.

Such a great deep analysis, especially loved the "curious spy" phrase! :D Thanks a ton guys, Igor of StJ PS: btw, never been a fan of stoner rock/metal myself, always thought of us as of a prog/psych kinda band more... so thanks for that as well!

Actually, it wasn't a guitar, it was a dobro. A guitar basically but with a steel body, which gives it a different tone. Hat's off to the keyboard player on this one, Alan Clark, a masterful performance. But the whole band - amazing. They put on a musicianship masterclass IMO here. Timing changes, emotional tone changes, etc., etc., and the whole band is perfect and completely in -synch the whole way thru, to the last note. God bless em...

Mark was reading a book (on a tourbus ??? - that became the Telegraph Rd a commentary on industry in the USA
@JohnDavidGeary
@JohnDavidGeary 18 күн бұрын
The book was Growth of the Soil written by Knut Hamson from Norway which was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1920. Probably due to Mark's degree in English literature. Colonising the remote part of the wilderness and taming the land. This combined with the historical development of Telegraph road interwoven with people and technology over time.

If you think these vocals are impressive, find an earlier version when their original bass player sang lead vocal. His high harmony during the chorus is unmatched!! ❤️❤️

The Eagles are one of the best bands ever. Don Felder is one of the bes ever. If you really want to understand "classic rock", you should read some autobiographies of the artists you like. I''ll send more later. For now, this isn't exactly "original classic rock" - it isn't the original. But the guitar work by Howie G may very well be the best individual performance I've ever seen. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nLpzfKdoy7e3gZc.html
