Sony IBIS does not work nearly as well with 3rd party lenses. Sigma and Tamron are OK, but Samyang is the worst. The best vlogging lens with the A7C ii is the Sony 11mm. Even though it's APS-C, it still works great. The A7C ii oversamples even in APS-C mode so the video quality will be awesome. I liked my A7C ii so much that I ended up buying a second one. I hate changing lenses so it's easier for me to simply buy a second body and mount whichever lens works best that day. I just got back from a vacation with the family and the A7C ii was the perfect camera for nearly everything. PRO TIP: Configure your A7C ii to "Flexible Exposure Mode". I have a video on my channel about shooting hybrid that shows how to set it up if you get lost. It basically disables the top PSAM dial when switching from stills to video - which makes sense because the settings are very different between the two.

That stabilization was awful. Definitely not going to work as a walk and talk vlogging camera. I'm curious to see how it compares with the ZV-E1.

Still happy with the camera after 1 year? stabilisation looks ok on dynamic. good test. I plan on buying the 11mm for the E1. I hate that we are talking ab catalyst browse. that should not be an option now a days.

Yes sir! That is correct. The Gear head search never ends and it a rabbit hole for sure! I guess I like using new ones, but quickly lose the motivation for them as I want to try the next one with the next features... Yet they really dont get much better. Mainly about features now and what features you like.

I felt this video as I’m have asked myself the same question. I looked back and I haven’t done a camera review in a year..I still love cameras but I really can’t do videos about them anymore because there is so little separating them, plus they are getting too expensive and the upper end ones are now adding features that I don’t even know how or want to learn to utilize (ex raw video)

Sheesh didn’t realise how amazing the zve1 image quality trumps the S5ii. I used to own a S5ii and sold it for a fx30. Now selling and going to a zve1 and a6700 as B cam.

There is a global shortage of many of the base materials used to make an EOS R5 Mark II. For example, magnesium (used in the body) has had supply constraints; manufacturing new chips can take longer than cheaper chips due to bottlenecks and scaling. China's middle class, which includes 400 million to 500 million middle-class Chinese, would also be ordering a lot of these cameras. Get the picture!!

Man, i can't believe I missed that s5ii deal with 2 lenses. I'm going back and forth between the a6700 and s5ii. The s5ii has skyrocketed in price over the last month. I need a camera that is photography primary (I need to take product photos for my new website). However, I want to start a KZfaq channel as well. So I really want a good hybrid. The canon r6 mkiii is probably awhile out still unfortunately.

No, but if you shoot over 40 minutes it will get HOT and may overheat, all new sony smaller cameras will now.

The original ZV-E10 is a better choice than the Mark II. The biggest problem is the lack of mechanical shutter, and the price. Both the Pocket 3 and original ZV-E10 are excellent choices. If spending more money, then the A6700 is by far the best choice. Price has made the Mark II a lousy choice. Removing the mechanical shutter is a huge downgrade. It is lousy for any fast action, and flash is limited to 1/30th of a second. That is like going back to a 1970's film camera. My ZV-E10 is a fabulous camera. The A6700 is better and priced accordingly. Any camera that starts to get close to the A6700 in price I have to ask myself - why not save a few extra dollars and get the better camera? Or save a few bucks and get the excellent original ZV-E10?

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. You can get the A6700 used for only 150 dollars or so more than the ZVE 10 II, at that price, your better off getting the A6700 IMO. Thanks for your comments!

@@breakfastforyousoul Yes. The A6700 is a way better camera. It is not even close. Product Showcase is the only major advantage either ZV-E10 has, plus, of course, the original has a price advantage that is very worthwhile. Because of Product Showcase I am very glad I have the original model. It is good enough, that if it died I would replace it with a second Mark I model.. Price means that I would not consider the Mark II under any circumstances, but, even if they were the same price, the electronic shutter and flash sync speed means I still wouldn't get it. The A6700, on the other hand, is always desireable, because it is one of the best APS-C cameras on the market.. Like the 1 inch RX100 VII, Sony hit a home run with that camera.

Marketing hype is real. I sold my canon r6 mark ii and switched to Sony. I like to shoot in log because I want to get the best image possible. I like Sony because they give s log 3 to most of their newer cameras. For canon if you want c log 2 you have to buy into their cinema cameras or the r5ii which start at well over $3000 plus if you want a good lens to go with thats that’s another $3000 for a rf l series lens. I mainly just use Sony lenses because they work better when it comes to stabilization. Sony has a lens for everyone at every budget. Canon you have no choice pay up or use an ef adapter 😂.

I'm still rocking an 11 year old camera. It's been just fine. Getting a little long in the tooth now so I will upgrade soon. The cool thing is that I can buy a two or three year old model at a discount and to me it's still a massive upgrade. I'm not adding to their "shortage."

Enjoy your content, man. Similar to mine. Real world, honest thoughts and reviews. Are you still using S-Log 3 on your Sony cams? I just picked up an A6700 so I'm going to be doing some tests between that and S-Cinetone. I'm just worried about "having" to nail the exposure all the time. I also am having second thoughts about the Pocket 3 being a grab and go camera. It performed quite poorly when I tried that on my recent cruise. It seems to look great in decent lighting but get it in a tricky lighting situation and you might as well use your cellphone.

Actually I prefer S cinetone as long as its not really low light. I will use that all the time for the most part in studio. If you use slog 3, just over expose a full stop or 2 and you will be good to go! I will subscribe to your channel! Cant wait to check out your content!

Great video man, exactly what I was looking for. I'm starting KZfaq and planning on going fully i. but still not sure if I should get a DJI/vlog/action camera or a dedicated point&shoot camera. I'll be doing vloging/traveling and talking videos probably. Would. love to have your feedback! :)

If your going to be in harsh conditions, then an action cam would be good for any good light situations. For general conditions and lower light vlogging and traveling, the Pocket 3 is amazing with the wireless mic it is a great deal. If you do allot of talking head vidoes then that is where a larger cam comes in, even the ZVE 10 with a good 1.4 lens is all you need for that. If I can help further just let me know!

Yeah it is a great deal for what you get, I would say it is the best hybrid APSC camera right now if you factor in lens options. IMO. but honestly I LOVE my S5ii, I paid almost the same for my A6700 as that, but you wont get the lens selection and size advantages that the A6700 offers.

Video quality on the Pocket 3 clearly is nowhere near the vlogging cameras, it's washed out and has little depth, like a phone camera.

That is true I have smartphone flagship with 1 inch sensor and even that is not extreme good in low light. I mean like real low light :). It can do the video but there is less details and more noise and the picture is dimmer. And smaller zoom sensors they are horrible in low light :). And it is about the optics too. Small optics on smartphones or action cameras can´t compete with sharp F1.2 lens with extreme wide glass over an APS-C sensor in quality. And I have an old camera. I saw many concerts recorded with smartphones and it is horrible, when there is like only little amount of light for example stadium. It is nice during the day with nice quality, but there are really more possibilities with dedicated camera. That is why I am going to buy modern camera right now :). I came to best smartphones from a real camera so I am very demanding about the quality and now I see many problems even with best smartphones as I own one.

I agree the image quality is better on the vlogging cameras, however you have to factor in price and convenience. You can pocket the pocket 3 and the mic is amazing, quick easy and MUCH better stabilization that you will get in a vlogging camera straight out of camera. Most people are watching on a 5 inch phone or 11 inch tablet, You and I may notice the difference, but most normal people thats not camera snobs like us wont. You have to spend at least twice as much for a good vlogging camera, lens and mic.

11 sony 1.8 or the 10-18 2.8 sigma, whatever best deal you can get! I have the 11 1.8 and it works great and is a good size as well!

I'd say P3 Creator Combo is the best vlogging camera, unless you doing something exteme. Then DJI Action 3/4/5 is your friend :D. ZV-E10 II is actually great camera, but it's for everything apart vlogging :D.

I have tried gimballs, but they are large and cumbersome when you have to reset them when you change lenses and stuff, really quite a hassle for me. I -prefer quick and simple myself. I have the Go Pro 10 and have used that, I do like that one as well! Stab on that and Action 4 is amazing in good light and for the rainy type days, that is what I use!

I got the pocket 3. I have an a6500 but ain’t no way I’m gonna lug that thing around to vlog. I also noticed people behave differently when I stick a larger camera and lens in peoples faces. So it really depends what you’re recording. If you record sceneries and not so much people, then a larger camera is better.

Exactly! Some comments are saying, just take the larger camera or gimbal for better video, but honesty in decent lighting the quality is NOT that much better, and the P3 is WAAAY more convenient and easy with the great wireless MIC. I Totally agree man!

Great comparison and tests! Thanks for making this video. For me, I'll still go with the Pocket 3. The main reason is that it's tiny and so easy to pull out, grab smooth clips, then throw back into my bag. The quality difference is only us nerds really care about. 99% of people won't notice it.

Thanks. I just picked up the A6700, and this shows me the stab is going to be fine with it. The Pocket 3 let me down on my last cruise. My primary use case for it was lowlight vlogging, but I got a ton of flicker even though anti-flicker was turned on. I think I can use the A6700 with the 11mm for this, and if necessary use Catalyst at a very small crop and with the IBIS, I should still be able to get away with normal shutter speeds (I hope). I think your video would get more attention if you changed the title and description. I ran your script through chat gpt and played around with it and I'll comment below with what it came up with. Feel free to copy and paste it, if you want.

Watching this on a 16 inch laptop with 2560x1600 resolution and I can see the difference in 1080 vs 4k. I'd say 1080 looks very good, 4k great.

I have the Sony Zve10 and hope the mark ii has better build quality, 10 bit video, S-Cinetone for under $1,000. If so my ZVE10 will become my back up camera.
