One piece of advice...buying bottled water in Madrid...it's like going to the beach and bringing your salt for the water...the tap water in Madrid is better than the bottled ones...regards

Hi, where did you stay and what restaurant did you get the Chinese food from?
@JessftBobby8 күн бұрын
Hey hey, we stayed in Miraflores Lima, near Kennedy park! The Chinese Resturant is called “Chifa Wa Lok” it’s next to the main strip in china town Lima. You won’t miss it because there is always a line! (The line moves quite quickly!)

@@JessftBobby That cooking class gave you a much deeper understanding of Peruvian cuisine. Kudos to Bobby for handling the wok like a pro. The use of clay pots and the mortar and pestle highlights how Peruvian cuisine maintains its connection to a past rich in flavors and aromas. This is especially evident in Arequipa, where Picanterías continue to use these traditional cooking techniques. Did you know that restaurants were invented in France in the 19th century to restore people's energy? They were sometimes located next to brothels to help restore the energy of their customers. This is the origin of the Italian dish "Spaghetti alla Putanesca," which means "whore-style spaghetti." Picanterías in Peru date back to the 1600s. These lunchtime establishments offered food to a wide range of people, from landowners to peasants, allowing them to share a table and interact with one another.

Peru is in our bucket list, it looks amazing! Did you struggle with altitude sickness?

We only had to acclimate In Cusco ! It was a bit tough for a day but after that we adjusted pretty quick. Most places will have oxygen tanks if you really need it (and the coca leaves help a lot of you’re looking for an extra jolt) But if you’re not in Cusco I can’t imagine you’ll have any problems! 😊

Here, we have a tradition of always going to McDonald's every time we visit a new country, because they all have different menus - for example, in Spain McDonald's has Patatas Bravas, in Switzerland they have McRaclette… Here in Portugal usually we have Sundaes with traditional sweet flavors (at the moment there is Toucinho do Céu Sundae). It's a fun experience to see how McDonald's adapts to each country. But, beyond that, we also always want to try traditional food. 😊

In such a light hearted and nice video about our country there are things people don't realize. The musician is next to a graffitti stating "Ni una más" in reference to the murders and assaults of women in Mexico which we protest every year in womens day. I hate when people get the impresion Mexico is ran by the Cartel and there are a bunch of thieves but the reality for our women is so sad.
@JessftBobby4 ай бұрын
It’s heartbreaking to hear this. I believe we saw a wall that had the stories of some of these women in the town center ☹️ I know we’re only tourists visiting but is there anything youd suggest people visiting can do to help make this sort of situation better or give awareness to it?
@examichelle4 ай бұрын
I'm just about fed up that every time foreigners come to Mexico they have to bring up Coco, especially americans. "Oh this looks just like in Coco", come on that is not the only reference to Mexico there exists.
@JessftBobby4 ай бұрын
Hey - totally get the frustration here! Believe me there was SO much that I loved about Oaxaca than just the little Coco reference. The kindness of the people, the incredible food, and the beauty of the surrounding neighbourhoods. I think a lot of Americans are a bit oblivious to just how rich the culture is in Mexico (this is pretty skewed by their media unfortunately) so their first reaction is something they can quickly relate to. Probably doesn’t help that a lot of the tourist activities and local guides mention it too ☹️ But I appreciate the comment bringing up how annoying this can be for locals - the perspective is helpful going forward 🙏
