Dropped the 4,5 and 6 irons out of my bag and put in a 7wood,9 wood and 6 hybrid in their place. Such a big difference in my game plus i love starting my iron set with the 7.

I'm a RH mid capper whose miss is left. Would love to play hybrids but the draw bias makes them risky for me. Draws turn into hooks.

Hi adjman48! Thanks for sharing! As someone whose miss is a hook, I hear you but it's something I've learnt to make work for me as the benefits are huge! One option for you at that end of the bag could be to combo set your irons with something that's close to a Hybrid/Iron crossover... I'm thinking TM Stealth HD (if you can still get hold of them), Cleveland Launcher XL Halo, Titleist T400, Cobra T-Rail! That should give you the extreme forgiveness of something like a hybrid but with the face and looks of an iron! I've tested the Launcher XL Halo on my channel (a few years back now mind you!) and nearly put the 5 Iron in my bag for this reason! Thanks for watching! All the best!

Great video Luke, with reference to the ball you're playing and the cost of the Pro V1 ball, did you try the Kirkland signature ball from Costco? I found them very comparable to the Pro V and i believe they only cost around £25. Let me know what you think.....

Hi Alan! Thanks for watching! I have tried the V2 version of the Kirkland (not the new V3) and thought they were really good and great value, the only issue I had is they were a bit too spinney for me and I lost a few yards which I didn't feel I could give up! But I get why so many people play them! All the best!

Hi Pete! I don’t think either iron is a direct competitor to the T150 (maybe the Apex Pro is more trying to do that as I’d say the Ai 200 is close to the T200) but my personal preference is towards the Titleist T series over these if I had to choose! I like both but think the T series give me a bit more spin! 👍🏼

Thanks for another great review Luke. I really liked the front to back dispersion with the Ai200. For me, front to back dispersion is most important. How would you rate the feel of these irons compared with your Mizunos? You didn't mention the other iron in the Apex range i.e. the Ti Fusion. That iron looks amazing and I believe it sits between the Apex Pro and Ai200. It would be great to hear your thoughts on the Ti Fusion if you can get your hands on it.
@weekendtourpros

Hi Gary! I plan on filming the Ti Fusion separately, more because of their price point! Nearly 60% more than the Ai200 and Ai300 in the UK! I think my Mizuno’s feel softer but not a lot of difference for me between these and things like Titleist T series or TM P790’s etc. 👍🏼

Hi Doober! Feel is quite subjective, but for me they feel more solid than some other players distance irons I’ve tested but definitely more soft than recent Ping irons like the older i530 or the G430! Definitely not as soft as my Mizuno JPX923 Forged or Titleist T200 that I’ve recently tested! I hope that helps! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼

Wow I actually did something similar on the course with the speedsoft and TP5 and felt the same in terms of stopping and it makes me feel better that you have the numbers to back it up. So far the speedsoft has become my primary ball, although I am improving and expect to need a premium ball at some point soon, but every time I test other balls the speedsoft performs better for my golf game and my swing speed.

I think it would be perfect if it was $35, putting a $15 spread between it and the Chrome Soft. With only $10 between them, one actual urethane and one ionomer with a urethane coating, it’s hard to justify the ERC. That said, I think it is a bit longer for me off the driver than Chrome Soft.

Thanks once again Luke. I think as I get older and my driver swing now slipping below 90 these type of balls can offer a bit more pop off the irons and as a 11 HCP I often feel using trajectory over spin with the shorter clubs more reliable. In the head to head rather than the the Srixon I’d rather see the titleist tour soft. They’re claiming the 2024 proprietary blend cover is almost matching urethene. I’d be interested if you find any truth in their claim
@weekendtourpros
@weekendtourpros 14 күн бұрын
Hi FordK168! Thank you for your continued support and watching the channel! I think you’re spot on! As swing speeds lower the pop and distance at the bottom of the bag, provided trajectory is there is beneficial. For my comparison video, which I’m filming tomorrow I’m taking the four most popular brands and their equivalent £25 soft ball - so Callaway Supersoft, TM Speedsoft, Srixon Soft Feel and Titleist TruFeel. As I want it to be an equal price point test. However I will try to test the Tour Soft vs some of these balls ASAP for you! 👍🏼

Thanks Luke, your suggestion makes sense as although I could see the new improved 2024 Tour Soft at various places online around the £28 mark they seem to have settled in to their natural habitat around £32. I actually took a sleeve out yesterday and was really impressed with the distance and although I felt I gave up a tiny bit of bite on the green with wedges I found the spin adequate and really consistent. The feel is fantastic and I think it might be my gamer going forward. I know you loved the ERC soft so the head to head with those would be a real clash!

Hi Tom! Thanks for watching one of my videos! That’s really cool of you! Hopefully you can see how much I love everything Precision have built for me! Regarding the putter, I still think what we achieved in our session was the right answer. The issue has just come from fast greens etc. in the summer and the putter weight. I’ve actually borrowed a LAB Mezz 1 from a friend this last week and fallen in love… feels a lot softer off the face and has given me so much confidence on the greens - I feel like I’m hitting so many putts online - the only issue is its exposing my green reading weaknesses! It took a few rounds to get use to it but once I learned how to use it properly I've probably saved about 2-3 shots per round on average. We are not as most of us neglect that area when we practice due to time ... Also I think a lot of us think we are poor putters ...we're not at all.... % of putts holed from 10ft is so low so stop putting pressure on yourself your not going to make many at all... The real test comes when I film the first 18 hole course vlog of the year on Monday! No second chances there! Warts and all golf! *worried slightly* I think your views on putting are spot on. I think my issues stem from that I struggle for feel and pace with my putter on fast and firm greens. Thanks for sharing. Are you doing any speed training to get some more distance out of your long game? The reason I ask is that gaining about 5mph will knockoff much more of your handicap then by constantly working on the shape and control of your shots. Best of luck with your game in the future.

If I’m honest I really get value out of it and can pick up some quick gains but really struggle to stick with it… I work full time, spend about 16 hours a week on the channel filming and editing and then have other hobbies and a wife and dog too! So I always start with good intentions and then it falls away after 6-8 weeks! But I would 100% recommend people do it and have a video reviewing the Speed Sticks and the PRGR monitor on my channel! I think if I had the space to do it indoors it might be easier in the winter but sadly I don’t! Have you given it a go and how did you get on? Thanks for watching and for your kind comment! Great review I am a dyed in the wool Mizuno fan and recently got 6-gw in mizuno pro 245’s I have played many different models of Mizunos through the years and these are the softest irons I’ve ever played including fully forged Mizunos. I’m a 16 handicap left hander from Texas

Hi Larry! Lovely to hear that my channel has made it all the way to Texas! Still amazes me everytime I hear from people on the other side of the world, so thank you for giving me a watch! Have you had any similar issues with your Mizuno irons over the years always looking a bit ‘dirty’ on the face? I’ve not had it in previous irons? I do love them though and it’s only a very minor point that wouldn’t stop me playing them! 👍🏼

Never had that problem with any Mizuno I’ve ever had. The forged irons will get wear marks on the face after a while but otherwise no problem with them

Great video! Like the on course videos. Have you ever tried graphite shafts in the irons? I switched a few years ago and will never go back to steel. I also enjoy switching out grips on all my clubs every other year.

Hi Steve! I have not but 100% would! I think they could be the future for a lot of golfers! What have you got in your irons? I do need a grip change for sure. Starting to notice mine need it with how much I use them!

I carry a Ping 7 and 9 wood in my bag.

Terry I absolutely love that! I nearly went 9 wood over new hybrid. The only reason I didn’t is that the hybrid and 7 wood together give me a bit more versatility on the courses I play. We can often get some really windy days and the hybrid just launches and spins a little less for me so just gives me that option into the wind! But I love your setup! Thanks for watching!

I also have Mizuno irons and the Ping G430 in the top end, but I never got a proper fitting, I have the regular stock shafts, where do you go for a proper fitting ? I need one 😂

Hi Steven! Love that we’ve got some similarities there! So many people in the comments saying they play Ping at that part of the bag too! There’s a reason for that for sure! There’s lots of great specialist fitters about, they cost but in my experience they are worth it! Are you UK based? Thanks for watching! 👍🏼

@@weekendtourpros I live near Watford just outside London, I was thinking of Precision golf ?

@stevenharris5662 I thoroughly recommend Precision Golf. They’ve been excellent for me, if you don’t mind the journey round the M25. Another option that I know a lot of friends trust is Golf Principles in Basingstoke which has recently become part of and rebranded as Club Champion. The fittings cost a bit but I’ve never trusted my golf clubs more and I know it’s 100% on me if they don’t perform! If you have any questions from my fittings let me know! 👍🏼

Thanks for watching reyno9la! Taken a lot of hard work to turn the slice (or when it was behaving itself a slight fade!) into that draw! Still hard to trust at times as scared of the pulled hook but we are getting there slowly! 👍🏼

Love the bag set up. I also need a new putter as we are not getting along, lol. Love to see the courses you play, so different from the states where I live. Looking forward to more course vlogs and what putter you get. Good Luck.

Hi Rodney! Thanks for watching and for your comment! I’ll let you into a little secret - I’ve borrowed a LAB putter off a friend for the weekend… if it goes well there could be a very expensive purchase being made! 🤣 loads more on course content coming soon that I hope you’ll enjoy! Filming 2-3 in the coming weeks!

Hi Torbjørn! I think it’s becoming a really good option for average golfers. Loads of pop and launch and a great option into long par 3’s and second shots on longer par 4’s etc. I love it! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼

Really enjoyed this video Luke. And your home course looks amazing! As a fellow LH golfer, I can relate to your comments about the limited options in wedges available to us. I used the Volkeys for many years for just the reasons you stated. I did switch last year to the PING Glide Forged Pro wedges in 56° and 60° and have liked them better than the Titleist. Mostly because of the softer feel. And like you, I love my PING 4H. I’m still using the 425 version, but it’s definitely one of my favorite clubs. The distance for me with this is the same as a 7W, so I carry the 4H instead to help with lies in the rough.

Hi Jeb! Thanks for watching and really interesting to hear your views on Ping wedges! I’d definitely consider them next time round! My 4 Hybrid and 7 Wood are about 10 yards carry difference due to slight different swing speeds with the longer shaft and flight I get from the 7 wood but the Ping hybrid is great! I’ve hit three beauts with it lately… the one in this video included! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼
