I used to have sun sensitivity but changed the oils in my diet to olive, coconut and avocado. No vegetable, canola or seed oils and i cleaned up my diet overall to next to no processed foods. Learn how to understand and read ingredient labels.

This was very helpful. Going to try the thera tears. Waking up and not being able to open your eyes due to dryness is unnerving. Thankfully its only happened twice. Zylimelts are great for dry mouth at night. I asked the dentist about xylitol and it does not cause cavities. I have gum and mints everywhere as i get a dry spot in my throat and it prevents me from being able to speak and makes me cough. This is autoimmune issue number 4 for me. Every 10 years a new one pops up.

I was diagnosed with ra in my 20s and sjogrens last year. Although as a child i had a eye condition that an optician told me was not allergies but alergy like. My opthamologist says its was probably sjogrens even then. My opthamologist prescribed imuno-suppressing eye drops which have been a huge help. I also find heated eye masks and the gel overnight eye drops (with no preservatives) have helped soothing symptoms. Also the thera tears supplements and making sure I don't wear makeup too often and I throw my makeup out and replace it regularly. The Burt's bees mascara and eye-liner is very non irritating

Thank you so very much for all this information. I was just diagnosed with Sjögrens by my dermatologist. I’ve been sick for over 2 years and could never be diagnosed properly. I was then told I had fibromyalgia. I also have Crohns disease which I was diagnosed in my early 30’s and I’m now 56. 🙏

Thank you for the. Information! I have been diagnosed with Sjogren’s. I have dry eyes and mouth. I was wondering if anyone else suffers with back pain. My pain is like bad cramps in my hips especially at night. Does anyone else diagnosed have this type pain?

It's a great privilege coming across your KZfaq channel Dr Odija. You have always been there for me health wise. I can vividly remember how you turned up for me when I was down with Herpes virus. Your contribution and care was highly appreciated. You are the best doctor I have ever come across. Thank you so much for the difference you make in the lives of your patients! Your kindness, sincere caring, and concern make everything better and are a great encouragement 😍..

I'm so glad you were able to advocate for yourself. I'm a medical laboratory scientist....we are the people that perform your laboratory tests. The lab's motto is "without us you are just guessing" referring to your doctor. What people do not realize is that the lab generates over 70% of diagnostic information. I'm also going through the autoimmune disease path.

If it has real lemon in it, please don't use them. My dentist and doctors are telling me anything acidic such as lemons, limes, tomatoes, etc will eat the enamel off of our teeth. I cringe when I hear someone recommending lemons or lemonade or anything with acid in it. our teeth are bad enough without saliva... much less putting acid in our mouth with our fruits. I'm sure this young lady doesn't know this or she would not have said it.

At age 71 I am finally figuring out why I never feel well. I am seronegative and started with RA and Raynaud's, but had bad TMJ in early high school. My grandma had Lupus -- I have the face rash but I don't burn so I don't have Lupus, but a doctor once told me I did. My mom had JRA. My Sjogren's symptoms are progressing fast right now. No saliva, no tears, peeling face (and I'm a lotion freak). It's scary because I'm already in an electric wheelchair and I don't have a way to get out of town to see a rheum. My family thinks I'm complaining so I haven't even told them.

Hall have a drop that is for dry mouth too.temu has a vaporizer for your eye. Feels so good. If you don’t have have presc. glasses get some with no prescription. It keeps wind out of eye.

This is beautiful, thank you! I can't say enough about Restasis for dry eyes. I was about to file for disability when my ophthalmologist prescribed it after punctal plugs failed to ease my suffering. It changed my life!!! After being on it off and on for 3 years, my eyes went into a kind of remission. While I still have occasional dry eyes, it has not gotten bad again, and it's been nearly 15 years. I highly recommend Xylitol gum for dry mouth. Xylitol is something our bodies make and not a synthetic drug. Xylitol sugar is the bomb! Tastes great, is all natural, and it helps to keep your mouth biome healthy.

Do you have any suggestions for pain. I have had fibromyalgia for over thirty years and am just seeing a Neurologist and am being tested for Sjogrens as I have a lot of new symptoms over the past few years. I have small fiber neuropathy and the pain is very debilitating. I have sensitivities to most drugs. I have been on an opioid for some time, but would like to go on something else if possible. I have tried all the regular ones such as Gabapentin, Amytriptilene etc, but just can’t tolerate any of them. Looking for some alternatives. Thank you so much. Found your video very informative. Hugs

Ayr gel, it comes in a tube and really easy to use and cheap too. Walmart or any pharmacy carries it. I just put some on my little pinky finger and put it in my nostrils. Especially at bedtime and it really helps.

I have had Sjogren's for 8-15 years or so. I was diagnosed in 2020 with a biopsy of the salivary gland. That was not great and if I had to do it all over again I would probably just assume I had Sjogren's and treat myself naturally anyway. I cannot take HCQ which is the most common prescription for Sjogrens as it made my palpitations worse. I also could not take the medication for dry mouth as it too made my mouth even more dry. The items that have helped me the most is Xylimelts especially during the night and Systane eye drops at night and sometimes during the day. I also use Spry mints, a humidifier, Doterra lemon drops in my water or real lemon slices. I use very clean lotions and cleansers and use oils as often as possible on my face and skin. I take cod liver oil, selenium and a few other supplements. I try to walk as often as possible-movement is so important. I also use a waterpik which I love and also a rotary toothbrush. Oral health is so important. I also floss daily before I go to bed. For sleep I use essential oils on my spine or on the bottom of my feet. In particular I use, Peace, Cedarwood, Lavender and others. I mix it up a bit. Essential oils help me immensely. For pain I use essential oils and occasionally have to switch to a prescription medication or ES Tylenol when I am in a flare. I worked with a Root Cause Clinic and they shared with me that many with Sjogren's can have opposite reactions to supplements/medications etc. They also can have opposite results with hyaluronic acid or collagen as we don't typically have the moisture within our bodies to make these effective. I find this to be true. Thanks for your video. I will check out your others.
