Pretty good list, but any video-rich course is good, from most well-known providers out there. One would be hard-pressed to say Sheppard is batter than any of the others. Hopefully they didn’t sponsor this to include an ad 😉

This is NOT the question on the test. The question on the test asks you to find the conversion for altimeter setting 28.22. You cannot simply find the half way difference. How do you calculate for the extra .02? Please explain.

King Schools all the way! John and Martha King ground school courses have trained by far the highest percentage of pilots and done it for an unprecedented 50 years! Every course is presented in a thorough, easy to learn and fun manner. I used King for my instrument rating way back in 1984. I’ll soon be back again after a long hiatus for their refresher courses.

I wouldn’t go for King Schools paid course personally, although I would watch any free videos out there that they have.

This video is extremely well done. The commentary, the details, the humor, are all perfect. Thank you for all the illustrations. I am getting ready to take my private test and this really helped me interpret the charts. Sporty's only goes so far....This filled in some gaps nicely for me. Please keep making these! Thank you again. Excellent video. Cheers <3

These are gimme questions once you get how to use the chart. I suggest printing out 20-30 copies of the chart and make up your own questions. It becomes really simple to do.

Great suggestion, thank you for your feedback Minosprimegaming. I am currently working on a VOR video project. I am learning through some technical issues with the software, but am making progress on it, not sure when it will be posted but I am aiming to add a new video end of July. I will add latitude and longitude to my list as well. Best wishes!

E6-B. Why do we still teach ancient technology? The year is 2024. We have electronic calculators, and ForeFlight. Does learning a manual E6-B give a modern day student who is learning flight planning for the first time, a better understanding of flight planning? or is it a waste of time given our modern day technology? Do you guys think the E6-B should be thrown into the garbage can? Is it still worth learning given today's technology? If so...then why? Martha King's reasoning is to have a non electronic backup if the electronic calculator fails. What are your thoughts ? Any other reasons why a student pilot should take the time to learn how to use the manual E6-B whizz wheel? Anybody? Any airline pilots or want to comment? Anybody want to comment? Curious to hear your perspective. Are there any studies that cite it's better to learn initially using a manual E6-B? Some younger students say they just use their iPhone if their iPad fails. But that doesn't address the question if learning by a manual E6-B helps a student pilot better understand flight planning? Are we older guys just stubborn in our old ways, or is there a legitimate and rational reason to still learn the old E6-B? I am open minded and l'd like to hear your perspective on the topic. Dank je wel....

I HATE those questions with the graph lines being so small. they basically force you to estimate and then put the answer choices so close together like?

A very Helpfull tip for anyone who is strugling with this. in the book it tells you to interpolate the two above and below that of which you have (i.e they give you the pressure of 29.25, so you take 29.2 and 29.3 and do all this crazy stuff that nobosy understand to interpolate it) Well a shorter way to do that, and get the SAME resut is to find the differemce between the two. Example: 29.2 = 673’ and 29.3 = 579’ to find the difference simply minus 579’ frm 673’ and you get 94. which is the same answer that the book gets after doing all this interpolation work. a few questions after this one it says to do it this way with no context so it makes it even more confusing, now when you see the question i am taking about it will make since.

It’s hard being a pilot and a musician because I keep loosing focus on the content due to my brain shifting focus to the music 😢

Yes I agree with simply omitting music in the background, I decided that later with my more recent projects. I haven't found a way to be able to alter the audio once the video's have been exported, I'm still new to the video creating process. Thank you for checking out the content. Best wishes and happy flying!

This helped until 13 minutes 57 seconds - it feels like a trick question or an answer so specific in the middle of the graph as to not matter - unless we are taking an exam. Time to get a snack and come back or just fly the plane as all three answers are in the middle of the acceptable limits. Now I'll wait for someone to say - "well actually..." (Snack time)
@AIDYLCONCEPTS2 ай бұрын
Haha! I agree. I often seek those annoying questions that feel poorly written so people don't fall victim to those tricks. I think some are just unproductive to learning to become a safe pilot. And I admit, I give myself several snack breaks while making these videos. Thank you for your feedback and best wishes!
