Thanks for this video! I tracked down a Tokyo Central in West Covina, on my way home from LA today. I almost felt like I was back in Japan! Although we couldn’t buy the food or groceries this time, I definitely needed to buy a few bottles of Pocari Sweat and some Coolish!!!

There is a huge tax on both car rentals and hotels (particularly King County/Seattle for the hotels). How much? It is almost enough that if you are going to rent a car, you might consider flying into Portland and renting a car there. But the upside to that is that you can drive right past either Mt St Helens or Mt Rainier--but for either, call and find out what the weather is at the highest stop; it can be 80 degrees and sunny on I-5 and socked in at the top of either mountain. To avoid Seattle/King County's high hotel rate, you can drive 14 miles north to Lynnwood in Snohomish County and avoid the tax (but not the high rental fees). Lynnwood is close to Payne Field which has just opened to air travel (and is the home of the Boeing company-run museum and tour). The Washington State Ferry System is a fun and cheap way to see the water. Skip the Space Needle and go to the tallest building the Columbia Center (5th and Columbia; lower cost, no lines, better food, and taller than the Needle. There are several van tours of the city which is the much better way to go than the Underground Tour or even the big bus tours. Finally, people in Seattle are very friendly and will help you.

A prime sleeping bench is what i like 😅, you're funny. I am always looking forward to increasing the odd of having a row to myself ( three quarters in the back) while sitting in a window seat. That's lowkey VIP. The window seat is King.

It's going to take a severe and dramatic approach to clean up downtown San Francisco, and the voters are finally beginning to see the light. However, the SF homeless industrial complex will be PISSED. They hate anything that cuts off their gravy train, or exposes their lack of accountability for actually getting people off the street. But this is the move that must be made, before SF slides further into total anarchy and chaos, and joins the ranks of Detroit, Baltimore and Philly for squalor and filth.

I disagree with you and many of the commenters on Hampton Inn. I've never been to one I didn't like. Some are rather generic, but they're immaculately clean, the staff is friendly, and have a good variety on the breakfast buffet. Many others (particularly those in city centers) are in converted historic buildings and have unique personalities. I don't see the point of spending hundreds of dollars a night on a hotel. Hampton Inn provides a perfectly nice experience for a decent price.

I got scammed a few nights ago in Shinbashi, lady approached me to go to her club, went up to the 5th floor and ordered 1 beer. Felt like leaving after that because it felt shady, ended up getting charged a bogus "cover fee" and "club fee". I had to pay like $200 Australian dollars to get out of it, very scary Yakuza looking dude in the back of the bar staring at me. Wish i had watched this video before.

You can't run away from dangerous . There's a gang in lompoc California and a child got shot in a cross fire years ago. There's danger everywhere. I've used to live in Los angeles trust me it's not that dangerous. Stop spreading misinformation. Stop ruining it for people.

Hi Chris. Thanks for the wonderful tour of Tokyo Central. They are planning to open one here in Hawaii on the Windward side of the island. It would be a great addition since the Don Quijote store close some time back. If they build it , I will check it out. Take care.

We went to the Bacchanal buffet last night for the last time. It's absolutely horrible! The food tastes like cigarettes. Even the drinks taste like cigarettes. The crab is ok, but the rest of the buffet is ordinary, inexpensive food that they have unsuccessfully tried to make look high end. It's nasty! There are much better places to eat in Vegas. It's over-hyped and over priced.

Sadly, Hollywood deserved to have become a wasteland, instead of a societal magnet. In the mid 80's, I stayed at The Mark Twain Hotel and also The Hotel Gilbert. Both were ratholes, but cheap ones at least. But I had to open the room's door with a popsicle stick because they didn't have any key for them. Those were the hotels the welfare office in Glendale would send me to with a nightly voucher because I was homeless, and they wanted to get rid of me. Anyways, one day I walked down Hollywood Blvd. to get something to eat, and I saw a young girl, about age 14, getting carried away by a group of about 8 gang members. She had a very worried look on her face. Me and her made eye contact. She was about 20 feet away from where I was. Her eyes were pleading with me. She couldn't walk or talk. She was silent, and limp. She had probably been given a date r@pe drug at the Greyhound bus station right down the street on Vine. That was all happening at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine. Well, since there was hundreds of business people on the street who had just gotten off work at the time. I grew very bold and yelled, "Hey look! They're kidnapping that young girl, let's save her!". I honestly thought that a group of strong men would back skinny-little-ole me up, too. Instead, lots of people turned their heads and saw what was happening, then they just turned and went on their way again. One of the gang members pulled out a pistol and walked right up to me pointing it at my head. He stood 5 feet in front of me and then he said, "I could shoot you dead and nobody would do anything fool! Better you turn and walk away before I do it too!" By that time the rest of the guys had disappeared down the block and then around a corner. There was zero I could do but turn and slowly walk away, hoping the angry guy didn't shoot me in the back. Another time before that happened, two guys robbed me in broad daylight on Hollywood Blvd. One guy grabbed my arms and the other guy went through my pockets. I was defenseless, they were huge angry guys. I only had a dollar and forty cents on me, just enough to afford a hamburger and fries at the corner deli. They laughed and let me keep it. But they did tear up my driver's license that was in my wallet. They told me that anyone that broke wasn't even an American. Then they pulled out wads of cash and flashed it in my face as they threw my wallet on the ground laughing at me. Yes, Hollywood deserved to become a wasteland instead of a magnet for poor innocent runaway girls, or a spot to dump people wanting a welfare check so they wouldn't have to be homeless long before being homeless got to be so common a thing. I often wonder what ever happened to that poor girl. They probably hooked her on drugs and sold her at will... every single day they could. Well, after they had sexually abused her into broken-spirited compliance first. And that was back in the 80's when Hollywood was just a little bit dangerous. Those streets used to be mostly teaming with regular normal people until the sun went down. Businesses were all thriving too. Well, thanks for letting me share all that. "Maine" says "hello".

When you are going on a trip and staying at hotels without washing machines, how do you do laundry? Do you pay for laundry service or visit a laundromat?
@YellowProductions21 сағат бұрын
Hi Derek -- our general rule of thumb is 9 days or less we can pack enough clothes and no laundry. But after that honestly we do all the things you mentioned depending upon the cost and the place. Some hotels can actually have really cheap laundry service. But usually we'll go to a laundry mat. But it's even better to just try and plan the laundry day in a hotel that had laundry facilities. Yes. That does take some advance planning. But so much easier not to have to drag your laundry around

Too bad they closed down the old Mitsuwa on Carson/Western😢 You noticed that the Ito-En Green Tea is from Taiwan and not Japan, reflected in the lower price😂. My Grandfather was a Tea Farmer from Saitama (Iruma). YamamotoYama had an outlet in the old Mitsuwa that sold Sayama Cha, sadly they stopped selling it after the Fukushima Nuclear Accident.
