Hola Victor!!

I like this bike build I have to point out that the chain is too long which is why the top jockey wheel is rubbing on it. You can hear it when you did your test then see it clearly later in your final shots. With thicker bar tape like this, it's better to wrap it from the bottom to the top so it's nicer to grip.

Hi friend!!! Thanks for your recommendations. You are absolutely right. For the first failure, yes, the chain was too long, but after the video I was able to get it right without having to cut the chain, since the Mavic derailleur allows you to adjust the pulley piece up or down and the handlebar tape. I totally agree with you, but since the client wanted it like that, he was going to use it occasionally. Thanks again for your comment ; )

Being vintage, I assume the rear dropouts were 125mm. How did you fit the modern freehub in there or was it initallty 130mm?
@dabrestauracion7404
@dabrestauracion7404 15 күн бұрын
Hello friend, no, the tips are 128 mm and the wheels are also 8 speeds, if I had gone to 9, 10 or 11, I wouldn't have to do anything either since there is a difference between 130 mm, so you don't have to do anything to install the wheels. Greetings and thank you for leaving your comment ; )

Hi, friend!!! Your frame is not very good for a gravel conversion, since it has thin tubes. If you want to do a conversion, I would opt for a 90's mtb frame, as the tubes are much larger and stronger. Greetings friend ; )

It's a 1500, not a 2500 (dimpled, non-diamond chainstay). Plus, how is a fourth-tier Benotto a "dream build". Even if you are a Benotto fanatic, wouldn't a 3000 or a Campione be you "dream build"?
@dabrestauracion7404
@dabrestauracion7404 Ай бұрын
Hi, friend!!! When you think you are right, show signs of it. For your information, a 2500 does not have diamond chainstays, that is the 3000 model. On the bottom bracket at the bottom, the 2500 has a heart, while the 1500 does not have one. The rear derailleur dropouts have 2 holes where the wheel is placed and the dropouts are Campagnolo on the 2500, while those on the 1500 are Benotto and finally the fittings do not have the same shape in the bottom bracket and their joint in the chainstays, the The 1500 has 2 tips and the 2500 has only 1. I hope it is clear to you. Thank you for leaving me your comment. It has been a pleasure for me to explain the differences to you. If you have any further questions, tell me ; )

I am so glad that there are people like you who love and restore these "old" treasures. It is a shame that so many dont know what they have at their garage, attic, wherever. A friend of mine literally saved a bike from the metal shredder in a last minute action. I was shocked because it was a Mid 80ies Bianchi in a beauitiful pearl white. What made me almost speechless and cry was the fact that the bike was in almost mint condition. What a shame. Glad it was saved. I tried it, unfortunately it is no my size but it rides beautifully. I still cant believe it was almost dumped.

Just nuts and bolts, ball bearings and cotter pins! , even on a basic kids bike there were so many shared components with the top level bikes.
