Thank you. You definitely gave me things to think about. My little Finley is the sweetest boy ever. He is so cleaver in finding ways to communicate with me. And he's so much fun. I need to get some foraging toys for him. He won't eat hay though and the vet doesn't seem to concerned about it. He eats pellets, greens and gets banana, and apple treats.

You're right that Rex rabbits don't shed as much as some do. Mine gets a few Tufts mostly on her rear end, but not much else.

I've only had one rabbit who did this, and she was obsessed with it! She was a rescue and was terrified of hands when I adopted her and she was initially aggressive. She eventually loved people and attention as long as you didn't try to touch her. Her favorite toy to throw was a big plastic ball with a smaller rattle ball inside it. It was nearly as big as her whole dwarf body, and she liked to see how far she could throw it from the shelf in her pen. She was my example for how "aggressive" abused rabbits can heal with respect and patience. They just have big personalities.

Please, please help me. We adopted a bunny from a rescue. He was obviously neglected, because our vet said he was skinny. He was so skinny when we adopted him that his back bone was protruding. The vet saw him 3 weeks after we adopted him, which gave him time to gain weight. She still said he was skinny. She also said his teeth were somewhat pointed, when they should be straight. I wanted to share his history to see if his sudden and vicious biting of me is because of neglect/abuse, and if it can be corrected. He bit me twice very hard, latching on and shaking his body. Ty

Yes, my 2 rabbits have been cage free since they were 4 months old. They were in a cage for less than a week. It is cruel to cage up rabbits. They live to hop. My rabbits have free access to all of my rooms except for the bathroom and kitchen. They are also harness trained and love hopping around my creek on my property.

Hi! as many others here, I'm asking for suggestions on how to get my sweet&spicy girl Thumper (yes, i know) eating. She's acting normally: runs, jumps, nibbles on me for attention, and humps my arm (she's 8 and I never managed to get her to stop). Right now its Monday morning, and she hasn't actually sat down to eat hay since... saturday afternoon?). I noticed on Saturday evening she hadn't touched her fresh hay, but she still ate the handful of pellets I gave her at night. I always let her free roam in the bedroom during the night, and she was acting the same as always, maybe a bit more bite-y than usual. But she laid on the pillow next to me and ran around and binkied while I slept. Sunday morning I got up and looked for some pellets to coax he into the cage, and she just came up to me, smelled them and ran off. I then noticed she STILL hadnt touched her hay. Thats when I started freaking out, because i know my girl is SUPER food-driven and she never turns down pellets. I also noticed there were barely any pooplets around, and the ones that were were very tiny. Shes taken a few blades of grass that I've brought in from the yard, and a small piece of banana ( I gave it to her to avoid her blood sugar dropping?) and she even turned her nose up at that. So I'm terrified. There are very few "exotic" vets here in Puerto Rico. Like I mentioned before, she's acting pretty normally, aside form biting me more and spending a bit more time under the bed (not hunched over or anything, just enjoying how much more cooler it is there). She doesnt seem bloated, doesnt act like something hurts. Just... isn't eating like she would. Basically just a few bites of her "snacks".

Because she was greens only for most of her life so I’m happy that she is comfortable and she is still able to eat something that she enjoys. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t giving them to her in the wrong amount. I wanted to make sure I was feeding her the right amount, so again thank you for this video

We went to all hay buffet with a lion lop for many years had her spade at a little before one year the vet said getting her fixed would extend her life from 2 maybe 3 years to 8-12 years She just turned 7 and has been a healthy hoppy girl but I know how important bunny poo is and about a week ago I was seeing different poo and I was worried she was clogged so I really gave her a great comb out tummy rubs and making sure back door was a ok and all was good so knowing she can’t vomit and could have gas a sour tummy as a few days in water and hay intake slowed down I lifted up the left side of her lion mane and there it was she had a large marble sized mass vascular mass got her in asap it wasn’t an abscess it was a tumor they were able to remove it and when she got home with some repositioning of her water bottle about the same position that I lifted it up to once I realized that she had an ouchie and that’s why she wasn’t eating her hair or drinking water. I had moved it up so that it wouldn’t bump when she would drink her water and I will tell you that pellets are what kept her going until I could get her into that urgent vet trip and get her surgery done she’s always had the same hang, but it was uncomfortable for her obviously then after seeing the mass for her to eat it so I was so glad to have the same brand available so that she would eat after the surgery. She has been doing OK eating Timothy Hayballs And hey, that I place down for her to eat versus out of her hay feeder but she’s still really not into her hay and when I gave her her medicine yesterday, I realize she had a few bumps underneath her jaw as well so I’m thinking maybe the vet was close that she would last 8 to 12 years but maybe it’s just going to be seven thank you for your information because right now she’s on a pellet and water diet for the most part as she is still refusing her hay so I will be sad if this is getting to be kind of the twilight of hers and my time together, but thank you for not being someone who says hay only greens only I literally searched KZfaq because it has been so long since she had been on a pallet. Sorry for the misspelling I’m talking versus typing, but it had been a long time since she had had pellets in her diet and now it’s really the only thing that she’ll eat. Thank you for giving me an idea about how much to give her based on size and again for not being someone to say hay and vegetables only

A neighbor across the street has two huge bunnies or rabbits in an 8x8 cage for the past two years now. It disturbs me, they just sit there all day doing nothing. Seems mean to me. I think any wold animal kept as pets is wrong, unless there's an issue with the animal where it won't survive out in the wild on its own. This video popped up probably because I'm currently trying to research how to keep bunnies from eating all my flowers in the yard. Last year I didn't have alot of flowers and I noticed a big bunnie would sit in the lawn and eat all the clover, this year I don't have any clover since I sprayed for weeds and the lawn is looking great. I planted a nice wild flower garden that is growing great and also planted a bunch of wave pentunias all around the yard. Few weeks ago I noticed it looked like a mother bunnie with a tiny little baby bunnie, the thing is so cute, it runs so quick all over the place it's comical. But now I noticed the baby is hanging out in its own, found it camped out in the wild flower garden and tons of half eaten flowers. I had to put up a short fence around the garden out of chicken wire to keep it out and it seems to be working. I also mix hot sauce and water and spray it all over my pentunias and the bunnies seem to stay away from them now. The bunnies are still around, see them all the time. I find there waste in piles in the lawn and noticed crabgrass growing there, they must be eating weeds and spreading the seeds all over my lawn. Bunnies are cute but can be a menace.

There is a cute little baby bunnie that appears to have taken up residence around my yard. I noticed bigger adult bunnies and then a few weeks ago the tiny baby bunnie was following them. Now I see it on its own, usually hiding out in my wild flower garden. I wouldnt mind but it is picking my lovely wave petunia plants clean, it will eat all the flowers so there is nothing left. I finally made a fence from chicken wire around the flower garden but cant do that for all the pentunia plants I have all around my yard so I spray those down with hot sauce and water, seems to keep the bunnie from eating them so far. I feel bad because I have no problem with animals and enjoy seeing wild life around. But when they ruin my hard work I get annoyed. Lately ive been noticing bunnie droppings all over my lawn which I try to clean up right away so they dont get the impression its ok. I was wondering if I should buy some vegetables and leave them out for the bunniies to eat instead of my flowers. I was going to try and trap them in an animal cage but read it is illegal to relocate wild animals in my state. Crazy nonsense.

I built her a warm house (they placed in the otherwise empty cage) she doesn't use, either cause she doesn't know how or she doesn't like) Please tell me what I can do to keep her warm requiring zero input/maintenance from her owners. Good points. We bonded 2 males after our first had the whole house, we don’t have any enclosures. My daughter kept the new bun in her room, and they spent hours outside in 2 separate enclosures next to each other. It took 6 months for them to bond but they eventually accepted one another. We didn’t do anything to bond them just let them take it at they own pace.

Great, but your rabbit is a dream. Seems you started with maybe a timid rabbit. Id like to see you with my rabbit who is the biggest asshole rabbit I have ever met. He bites, pisses on everything, rips my drywall out, destroys my wood floors, manages to fling his shit eight feet up my freshly painted walls, he bites and throws proper tantrums. His sister is the sweetest bunny.

We have a huge cage and I modified a guinea pig platform and carpeted the top so Clover can hop in and out of the cage freely. He loves having the freedom to be "safe" in his cage or out roaming whenever he chooses. I still have the area fenced off but he definitely has the entire living room. 😊 When I'm not home, he does go in the cage, but he's pretty chill about it (as long as he gets a treat before the door shuts 🤣). 💙

I've never heard of such a drastically increased risk of cancer in unspayed female rabbits. I only know of one study where 80% of female rabbits showed morphological anomalies. But that doesn't mean that's what they died from. Other studies report between 6 and 20% of female rabbits develop some form of uterine disease, again there's no mention of whether they die from them. Please point me to any research I might have missed! I know it's super common in English-speaking countries to spay and neuter all pets, but here in Germany we usually only neuter the males as it is far less invasive (ie. dangerous and expensive). Female rabbits are usually only spayed if there are any symptoms of relevant diseases or extreme behavioral problems. But there's a rising trend of "preventative spaying" so it would be interesting to find out if there's any concrete evidence for that. Anyway, there are also downsides to spaying rabbits as it can lead to osteoporosis and they become much less active which often lead to them becoming overweight.
