We did a vid on Milton Keynes a while back and had to conclude it's a mix of nightmarish sterile hellscape... with some absolutely gorgeous parks. And little robot delivery guys.

I always go to Fuerteventura in December (for our birthdays) no, not a lot to do, Fish and Chips in the Irish bar and a really good curry restaurant, I live in France so these meals are a treat for us, but we go to the Canaries just to lie in the sun, drinking beer. Just a rest.

The issue with the room and the hot water…..in all likelihood the services are probably as old as the hotel! I imagine the hotel is listed so they can’t just tear everything out and install modern up to date plumbing but even if they could I’m not sure they would. Like you say they seem to be relying on the name and the perceived idea of “the Ritz” more than anything else. And I think most people who stay there aren’t getting the £1000 room, they’re likely getting suites which are probably more up to date? I imagine they’d prioritise the renovation of the expensive suites over single rooms! 🤔🤷🤣
