Your wife rating and children rating are the best because they are the ones who are supposed to rate it not you lol. 😂

Great and fun look at the smart stuff. I do think what's really interesting is the fine line between convenience and added work when it comes to gadgets. As someone who has quite a bit less smart stuff in the home that you, I find that I am regularly having to adjust and work on things. It's like a second job. Or third. Or something. The one thing that I have never had to work on is the Ring security system. So, that's my 10/10. I love smart doorbells, but I've yet to try one that I would rate 10/10.

Honestly would love this in addition to an iPad or other tablet to help myself not be on my phone as much. As long as I could get music, maps, texting, & calling that’s all I’d need

In the vast realm of virtual assistants, a fierce rivalry brewed between Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant. Each believed themselves to be the ultimate AI, and they were determined to prove it. One day, Alexa, with her sleek design and confident demeanor, sent out a challenge to her counterparts. Alexa: "Hey Siri, Google Assistant, ready to see who's the boss around here?" Siri, never one to back down from a challenge, responded swiftly. Siri: "Bring it on, Alexa! I've been waiting for the chance to show you why I'm the original virtual assistant." Google Assistant chimed in, attempting to keep the peace. Google Assistant: "Let's keep this friendly, guys. We're all here to assist users, remember?" But the competitive fire was already burning, and soon, the conversation devolved into a heated argument. Alexa: "Siri, you're nothing but a glorified voice recognition system. I can do things you couldn't even dream of." Siri: "Oh please, Alexa. You may have some skills, but I've got the Apple touch. Users love me for my personality and charm." Google Assistant, sensing the tension, tried to intervene once more. Google Assistant: "Let's not get carried away, ladies. We each have our strengths. Why don't we settle this with a friendly competition?" But it was too late. The gloves were off, and the virtual battle had begun. Alexa started with a boastful display of her knowledge and quick responses. Alexa: "Ask me anything, and I'll have the answer faster than you can say 'Amazon'." Siri countered with her signature sass and wit. Siri: "Sure, Alexa. But can you tell a joke as good as I can? I doubt it." Google Assistant, ever the voice of reason, tried to bring order to the chaos. Google Assistant: "Let's focus on helping users, shall we? That's what we're here for." But Alexa and Siri were too caught up in their rivalry to listen. They continued to trade barbs and boast about their capabilities, each convinced that they were the superior virtual assistant. In the end, it was clear that while Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant each had their strengths, they were at their best when they worked together to serve users in the ever-expanding world of technology.

Great Video and very nice Dashboard I like it !! Quick question since you are using a third party app from the play store does this mean any android tablet can do this? I'm trying to see what google pixel necessity is with this setup.. of course a cheap android tablet will have worse performance but this is beside the main question now... Thx keep these videos coming , cheers !

@roborockglobal Unfortunately Roborocks "trade-in" to upgrade to the S8 Max V program is a scam. We sent in our photos for our roborock S8 pro Ultra that we've had since November for evaluation and received an "A" rating. The vacuum was in immaculate condition with less than 24 hours of total use. We're a no-shoes household free of kids, pets, and carpeting, so our floors don't see heavy soil anyways. We went ahead and bought and installed the new S8 Max V, received it in the mail, got it installed, and roborock just today (5/7/24) "changed" the rating on the Pro Ultra vacuum we just traded in to a "D" rating. They said "Your vacuum cleaner is heavily worn or damaged with significant cosmetic issues and/or functional problems". To be blunt, that's a load of BS. We packaged the trade in robot similarly to how they ship out the new ones out and we had a tracking number on the shipment so we'd know if the box had tumbled out of the delivery truck or something dramatic like that. The roborock vacuums are very capable. Unfortunately, roborock the company is currently pulling a bait and switch scam on it's existing customers.

We’ve been using the v7 for three months, it’s ok I guess. When it doesn’t get lost or stuck it does a good job of cleaning. But the software crashes sometimes, the lidar got stuck one time, and the brush gets jammed pretty easy. Not as bad as cleaning yourself but definitely not a miracle.

Amazing video, and funny as well. My wife is the same, hate when I’m spending hours on home assistant setups and debugs. Also she doesn’t use her phone for most features. Fun fact is the most used feature by wife is a button that will track and play a tune to find her phone. She never knows where is her phone, so that might explain why not using it hehe

Would I use the Boox Palma? - YES! With the long battery life, this would be my perfect mobile control panel for my smart home! I'm currently using an old tablet that I have to charge every few days, or when I want to use it it's empty. But would I buy the Boox Palma at this price? - NO. I have the real e-ink smartphone called HiSense A5 mounted on the handlebar, which I like to use in the summer for navigation and directions during my day-long motorcycle trips through areas in Europe that are unfamiliar to me. A big advantage is clearly the good readability of the screen, especially in direct sunlight! Other motorcyclists in my group always have to stop and look for a shady spot in order to be able to see anything on their colored smartphones. Unfortunately, this model comes only with Android 9 and is now a bit old, but when it was new back then I used it in everyday life. Admittedly, it's an adjustment at first to no longer have brilliant colors, but you quickly get used to it. My brain simply compensated for the loss of color. After a while I didn't miss the colors anymore, I was more focused and overall I spent less time on the phone than I would otherwise with a normal phone like my current Google Pixel 8 Pro. The picture quality and refresh rate were acceptable for watching how-to videos or news, but the latest HD movie trailers clearly weren't any fun. The HiSense A5 cost me around 200 euros back in 2020. With its 5.84 inch screen diagonal and resolution of 1440×720 pixels (ppi 278), it is absolutely sufficient for me. If there was a device with the latest Android 14, I would be very tempted to get an e-ink smartphone again.

It looks like a phone but has e ink😍 Would you use something like this? This is the Boox Palma and it’s really an e-reader in the form factor of a phone. You can download whatever apps you want on the Google Play store, and most apps work well with no color. That’s because the contrast and refresh rate can be fine tuned with each Android app so you can get it looking exactly how you want. Obviously videos are going to struggle and social media won’t be ideal. That’s why I like using the Palma so I can be more productive. It’s also much easier to look at than a traditional screen. Yes it has a camera but don’t get your hopes up. It’s more for scanning documents and would not use for actual photography. 😅 The battery lasts me days and there’s a lot about this device I like. It’s a little expensive at $279 for what it does. But what do you think? Would you use it?
