There's a reduction because they're half speed in practice 🤣🤣🤣 dumb as hell

I see a couple of options. First, if the guardian cap is so good, why not put it inside the helmet? Wouldn't it provide as much protection on the inside? It might require a redesign of the helmet, but they're being redesigned all the time anyway. Second, since the NFL is going to allow the players to choose whether to use it on game day, why not also give the players the option of using the SAFR helmet cap?

I gotta say, as a football fan going into the medical field, I love this decision. Head injuries are no joke, this could massively help with CTE if players wear these over a career.
@eddielopez67319 сағат бұрын
I mean the biggest issue with Football is that it’s dangerous. That’s it. The NFL has to do everything in its power to sell people on how it isn’t. Personally instead of the guardians caps. I would love the NFL going the Rugby route and say you have to tackle in the midsection of a player only, and as a consequence the ball carrier cannot lower their shoulder.

Marketing of covering your helmets is questionable.

It’s a good idea. you can paint the caps to look like a normal helmet or just make a better helmet. Speaking from experience as a linemen, anything that helps protect your head helps because the line gets vile sometimes. Edit: kept watching and if you think it looks ugly just increase the padding on the inside or add more air. Sacrifice comfort for safety every time. (Btw I think the Vicis 02 looks amazing, if I had the option to use it I would)

The players should have the option to wear them if they want, and if it is widely adopted, we'll see Guardian Caps with logos on them real quick.

Players' long-term health trump aesthetics everytime without question. I strongly believe the padded caps should be permited (assuming it's the only NFL-approved option). Aesthetics should only be considered if the two options offer similar function and injury-prevention utility. I think the NFL has an ethical responsibility to inform players of potential risks (concussions, CTE, etc.) and permit the use of additional safety equipment. The players should still have the right to pick their actual equipment.

They may look a bit stupid ( though I’m sure things will be done to improve the athletics a bit ) but if you all want the game to continue and don’t want to see the future generations of athletes move to soccer or basketball to avoid head injuries I suggest you all get used to it.
@GoodJobBuddyКүн бұрын
They need to take the helmet as we know it out completely. Make the new "helmet" out of the guardian cap material and they should look like the old helmet with logo etc. The lighter material will make players not feel comfy lowering their head. It'll enhance athletic play as well
@farminstoltzfus7 сағат бұрын
You're not wrong. Rugby with its minimal pads and head protection, forces players to play and tackle properly. Football players with their helmets and pads feel invincible and play as such, often leading to head injuries

I'm calling BS on their "stats". Those do NOT prevent the brain from crashing into the skull. If they somehow made them "crumple" on impact it would take some of the energy away from the collision. I just don't buy it. The stats are misleading. Until they use them in an actual game the stats will be flawed because there are probably alot of other reasons that concussions are down in practice that have nothing to do with those padded coverings. ✌️✝️
@RodneyAEvansКүн бұрын
You can either improve the equipment or not allow players to get stronger and faster...which seems easier to implement ?

They gonna just put that on the inside and the shell of the helmet is gonna get bigger if they are going to do that. Helmet technology has already impoved leaps and bounds, let the helmet guys make the call, let them compromise. Because yeah its hella ugly.

I like it. There's a lot of strategy. Do you want a burner for a returner or a running back with short area quickness? Do you run end arounds or use cutback lanes? It's interesting.
@zaofactor2 күн бұрын
The smartest players who want to add another contract to their career will wear them. Especially if they've had a head injury previously. It wouldn't surprise me if the NFL or a big college works with company to produce a new standard for helmets to get the best of both worlds.
@wesleypierre82272 күн бұрын
Question⁉️ what 🐴 🕳️ do you fire when the head injuries, statistically and overall seriousness, stay exactly the same, only to spend millions on rebrand and new equipment, just to go back to the good ol' plastic. Lacross tried this, i think, and ended up going back to plastic, why would football be any different
