Ramana Maharshi taught Ek Jiva Vada, the idea that only one Jiva (individual soul) exists and that this single Jiva is dreaming the world and all other Jivas, similar to a dream. He explained, "All that you see depends on the seer. Apart from the seer, there is no seen." If this is true, then the single Ego "I" must be the real "I" that has intentionally deceived itself in order to lose itself in its own creation, which is also itself. Why then, must there be effort for the Ego to be destroyed? It is the true "I" playing as the limited ego "I" and is in complete control. Therefore, any effort made by the ego is a luxury and can only be successful if the real "I" dictates success. As Ramana stated, "The same truth has to be expressed in different ways to suit the capacity of the hearer." Success would mean the end of the world, the end of the illusion of others. Has the pure "I" (God) become a prisoner to the Ego "I" and been overtaken by it? That would be impossible, as the pure "I" has intentionally submerged itself in illusion while imposing limitations on itself quite deliberately, enjoying the experience of transcending them until its true nature is revealed through itself. If Ek Jiva Vada is true, then the only purpose of this experience/world must be to hide from myself and eventually find myself. This implies that the entire creation is just the story of self-discovery for one ego, which, when fully knowing itself, will come to see that there is no world and there are no others. As Ramana put it, "There is no creation and no dissolution." The seer and the seen are one and the same. There is only one screen, therefore only one seer. This ultimately means that the ego writing this message is the only ego that exists. I, the being writing this, must have created the world and everything else, including you, Ramana, and all the apparent other bodies, "other minds," and egos. Through you, I am only teaching myself this same truth. Upon finding it, all teachings and teachers disappear along with the false I/ego and this world. This would mean that nothing exists outside of my direct perception of it, surviving only through my assumptions and inner dialogue. As Ramana explained, "The mind is nothing but the 'I'-thought. The mind and the ego are one and the same." This teaching cannot be a halfway truth. Either it is the final truth, or it is pure deception. If true, there can't be any conscious beings other than the one writing this. Ek Jiva Vada renders all other teachings and beings as false images, like NPCs in a video game. Teachings about relieving the suffering of others, loving people, or helping people lose their meaning. Why help or share with someone who doesn’t exist? Ramana emphasized, "The world should be considered like a dream." How to have compassion for something devoid of content and experience? It would be like serving an imaginary friend or helping a stuffed animal get more comfortable. Compassion would make no sense if all other beings are devoid of inner experience. The point is made that while in ignorance, one must still act with compassion and righteousness, but why? Compassion for what? I agree with recognizing the illusory nature of the world but not neglecting one's apparent duties, because that can create a bad experience. So yes, life must still be treated as real in certain ways; one wouldn't put their hand in a fireplace. But why share a sandwich with a homeless person who devoid of inner experience? Further, this perspective means that any response I get from you is essentially the same as a response from an AI chatbot. Where am I going wrong here?

"Maya" literally means "to measure", "to evaluate". Who am I? What is the universe? What is the source of all the phenomena, of all that appears? The evaluation depends on knowledge, which is always incomplete. Therefore, the evaluation, the measurement, is "what is not". If one takes the idea, the concept, as the truth, one is living under illusion. That is why the word "maya" is related to illusion. Without this illusion, there in absolutely no separation, no division. The form and the non-form, the manifest and the unmanifested are the same life-consciousness. The source never ends, never dies. Is it not because of this that, by reflection, we cling to life, that we don't want to die?

I was just pondering the idea that "Brahman is everything". What I failed to realize for a long time was that this includes myself. Brahman is everything means that I am also Brahman. This makes all the difference.

Sorry Swamiji, I would like to offer a correction - there were not 4 casts, there are 4 varnas. Jati is different. There is no equivalent word for caste in any Indian language. Also there are several examples of people moving between these varnas. So they were not rigid.

People.should try to discriminate between the real and the unreal this requires extremely clear intelligent perception A mind which is normally not clear and logical is not capable of becoming suddenly receptive with regards spiritual matter

So if the subtle body continues ... what happens ?
Can you please help me understand if the following is correct? Brahman is All One (a.k.a.) All Alone & is deeply disturbed by this fact. It also doesn’t know where it originated from or why. Being immortal it cannot destroy itself so must cope with it’s forced loneliness by creating the illusions of “others”. Hence the divine play of Maya/matrix. It’s quite tragic really. I feel great empathy & sorrow for Brahman. Truly a case of when an unstoppable force (consciousness) meets an immovable object (immortality) Brahma is trapped by its own sentience & longing for companionship with a true other. This is impossible so it must continue to cope with illusions, drama & distractions. Beyond brutal. Could this hypothesis be accurate? A challenging reality to face if true. Oh well. Best, KM

Hello! Yes, this seems the correct way of looking at it. Brahman created the illusion of separation within himself out of loneliness. This illusion is us.

The BIGGEST LIE ever told by Christians is that Satan is STILL the god of this world. Jesus came to save the world and undo the works of the devil. His disciples healed people, cast out demons, raised the dead and Jesus said, greater things than this, you will do, even calm storms and move mountains. So, what happened? Did Jesus lie, did he fail? Of course not, many Christians have done miracles and continue to do miracles. My hypothesis for why the world isn't as perfect as Jesus said it could be is this, as Jesus warned, wolves have crept in, false teachers abound, lies replaced truth. So who is harmed, but those causing the problems. Sad indeed. Feed the sheep and let the little child lead you, instead of feeding the sheep to the wolves.
