I think it was Help I’m Alive. The cinematic and industrial vibe that song has with the anxious and panicked lyrics, juxtaposed with the confident and resilient verse, left me gaged honestly. It’s vulnerable and intense, but also hopeful and humbling. As someone who struggles with anxiety, it connected with me. I can’t exactly remember where I first heard it though. I probably saw it on some playlist somewhere a few years ago and the title interested me enough to listen… so unbelievably glad I did

The comments here are weird. Like I'm missing a meme or something. Someone important to me sent me this today. I wish I could ask how they relate to the song. Which parts explained their experiences with me and which parts describe them/me and why hooker is in it, but most of the lyrics probably meant nothing to them. I listened to the song and I cried. Someone made a video of emotional slides of an anime gf to this song. Its less about the lyrics and more about the vibe the melody and visuals combined create. Usually people relate to it due to unrequited/lost love.

This one of my all time Metric faves. The video is so smooth and the colours are soft, my sister said every time she hears this, it reminds her of me. I have the pink and black t shirt that has the song title and Emily's famous photo with her sunglasses and her mic.

Metric Nothing Is Perfect Formentera Track By Track Nothing Is Perfect. I Was Doing That Thing Of Like The Nobody For President Kind Of Thing, Like Making Nothing Into A Concrete Noun And Thing. Right. So It's A Really Fun Exerise When You're Listening To It. Actually, Joules Was Saying He Was Really Tripping On That 'Cause You Can Go Many Directions With, Nothing Has Come Between Us Nothing Can Hurt Us. It's Like, There It Is. It's Between Us, It's Nothing And It Is Dangerous. So, I'm Really Happy What We Ended Up Doing With The Production On That. We Went A Bunch Of Different Directions And Ended Up With This I Think Just Really Straightforward, Here's The Song. Again, Like I Can Picture That Being Sung By A Lot Of People In A Big Room Which Is A Criteria For Me Right Because I Wanna Party. Did We Get Your Vocals On There Or Is It Just Me? No, It's Just You. Metric Just The Once Formentera II Track By Track "Just The Once," From A Musical Perspective. Take It. There Was Two Completely Different Jams That Had Happenend And That Bridge Is Like, It Was A Completely Different Piece Of Music. It's A Destination. In A Different Key, In A Dirrerent Tempo And Then We Kind Of Found A Way To Make It All Work Together. Kind Of A Similar Thing Where It's A Bit Of Playing With The Different Meanings Of The Word Once. Once Can Be, Once I've Achieved This, Then I'll Do That. It Can Be, Once Upon A Time In The Past. It Can Be, Just One Time I'm Gonna Do This And Then We Kind Of Refined It Into Like The Hilarity Of The Things In Your Life That You're Like, "Yeah, Yeah, Just The One Time." "It's Just For Fun, Just The Once," And Then The Kind Of The Hook In There Like, "Yeah, Once Before Once Becomes Once In A While." Which Is A Huge Difference Between Just The Once And Once In A While. Once In A While Is A Repeated Behavior.
