Simply too expensive. Cables etc were much cheaper on ebay. I went in a few times with only me in the shop and four staff on. Not surprised they went bust.

Nice one. I liked your view of Manchester and Liverpool both being a part of Lancashire. It wasn't long ago that this was reality. It's 06:29 and I'm helping myself to a few brandies (with water) and a succession of doobs. Doobs, Brandy & The Fall. I discovered The Fall on a mixtape in 1992. Athlete Cured and Bremen Nacht were on this mixtape plus Gut of the Quantifier. I was instantly ensorcelled by what I heard. The Smiths were on this mixtape too and I'd never listened to them before either, although I remembered The Smiths from Top of the Pops as a schoolboy. I was also listening to Iron Maiden and Metallica as a fourteen-year-old rather than indie stuff. Symmetry, Johnny, eh?

Good first attempt at cleaning a moldy tape. Isopropanol is fast-evaporating. Needs very little liquid on your swab or cleaning pad. A tiny moist dot of liquid on a one inch piece of chamois leather works well. Avoid using cotton wool balls or pads. Cotton cu-tips are fine, but use care if using the ends around the video pick-up chips. I too have used old VHS, Betamax and Philips N1700 machines to clean the respective tapes. I am currently building a tape cleaner that accepts interchangeable hubs so it can clean numerous formats..

I actually just got the Laserdisc version (US). Unfortunately someone else on EBay bought a good condition VHS version that I was eyeballing on but I’m glad what I got and surprisingly the laserdisc was cheaper than the VHS so I’m happy.

Oh yes, I to was traumatized by this 1st issue. I was kind of torn by wanting and not wanting to listen to the Flexi disc. Each time I did pluck up the courage, I would then hide the magazine and flexdisc somewhere I couldn't see it. It kind of felt like an evil artifact that could open a doorway to the other side. I watched your video with my 11 year old daughter and I think it's traumatized her! The spontaneous combustion section used to freak me out as well. That photo of a burnt off foot was horrible.

The vinyl tag works, this is the first time I've seen your channel. Wet Leg was my #10 album last year, just fantastic. I really dig Boards of Canada and ambient music in general. Geogaddi can be pretty dark depending how you interpret it. I went down the vaporwave trail a few years back, some of that stuff is now pretty expensive. Congrats on finding OK computer. Subbed!

2023 is shaping up pretty darn good with a video from the long lost JohnnyCeed. Ha, and I even get a name check. Thankyou Johnny. You've raised the bar for high points this year already... and it's only day three. Great showings here John. Always good to see Zeppelin albums, OK Computer, nice. I still have not listened to The Band...I really should do that this year. Great to see you. Don't leave it so long next time. Cheers

Whats your recommendations for vaporwave? I like a few tracks and the whole 80s A E S T H E T I C 😄 Love my old V.H.S. tapes so ticks that box. Boards of canada are great prefer the music has the right to children album but that gobblygook albums ok like the Blair witch type track but that could be a few or all😄Happy new year, ebays good for music cassettes, found a bunch in a cassette case thrown out a few years ago. A few that you would probably appreciate, led zep iron maiden, crazy what people chuck away.

Hi Johnny happy new year ! I nearly fell off the sofa when I saw you’d responded ! Thanks for jumping in on the tag so quickly.. I remember your tinned hamburger video with incredible fondness 😃I have that rock n roller album ! That could have been a answer to the grail question .. boards of Canada are one of my favourites 👍. Sleazy late night jazz ? Is that a genre 🤷🏼‍♂️. Funny that your only cd was radiator 👍. Happy with all 4 purchases 😊I hope this isn’t the last video you do in 2023 Johnny thanks for doing this 👍👍👍

Hey Johnny, so good to see you again!..when your video popped up a huge smile appeared on my face . I was late to the party with Wet Leg, but definitely enjoyed what I heard and I get why they are so popular..certainly bought the fun element back to catchy guitar pop. Good choice with Sting, not heard that album for years. I've never delved into Boards of Canada, perhaps I should check them out. Didn't know about the Down Under lawsuit..interesting. I love A New World Record, the best 70s album The Beatles never recorded. I forgot about Klaus Schulze..jeez we've lost so many artists in 2022. Great choice with OK Computer, Radiohead are the most fun you can have whilst being miserable. Ashes are Burning is a fabulous album...superb choice. Please make more regular content!!. All the best.Rob 😉

Can't imagine Roller Disco-ing to more than half of these ...To roller disco you really need a song with a good disco wall of sound and constant bpm like Strut Your Funky Stuff by Frantique or Haven't Stopped Dancing by Gonzalez .. most of the tracks on the album would clear a dance floor ..

I skipped the first stage and just opened the cassette tape then used a cotton wool stick pushed under the plastic to clean it. No liquids. The mold is mostly sitting on the reel. Went fine and was able to copy it onto my pc. Quality was very good.

I think you are missing a chimney cover for the centre. I remember this game and you had to drop a ball bearing down and it would come out of one of the four “rooms” randomly. A good game.

thank you for showing us around the market flea store some of the records was overpriced like Kate bush etc. I thought you might have got the hits 3 album from 1985 that a most in collectors' collection plus abba the lp was it the visitors album that you flipped by in the box, as for the guy who was shirtless. it wouldn't have put me off my browsing not all. I don't mind guys who take of their shirts and show the manly chest. you must have felt a bit deflated in not getting what you wanted on that particular day. I would have gone for the val donican lp as being of Irish of course. we like to be cohesive on Irish music stars.

God, I love phisical media like this. Really brings me back, though I was born in 93. I mean we still had super old VHS tapes, record players and cassettes for a GOOD long time throughout my childhood. I guess cause my dad just held onto a lot of it. We still have his first record player from 1978 I believe. I could totally be wrong, But it's a really really cool thing to have. And Rock and Rule is such a fascinating flick. One of the few that inspired me during my years studying animation way back, so this is rad as hell to see, and I envy you and your brother for being able to grow up in a time JUST before mine. I missed it by just THAT MUCH and I'm fuming!!!

They came out either 73-74, I remember buying the first ones from the newsagents across the road whilst I was in infants school. They were an absolute craze for a good few years, every schoolkid had them. Ollie Onion Billy Banana They all had names on the side of the boxes they came in. Lewis's in Manchester had a toy department, they had the really good quality first generation ones there. Then the smaller next generation ones came out and instead of hats, they had leaves on their heads. Then a really cheap version came out which were molded in a rubbery plastic, Billy Banana could be bought in pink. We called them, "Rubberoids", lol. I had about 100 of them but years ago my stepson from my first marriage got hold of them and pulled the legs and arms off every single one of them. I never forgave him, they were the last toy that survived into my adulthood. I managed to track down the original issue ones on ebay, they were slightly bigger and better painted than the next generation ones and they cost an absolute fortune, £10 each and that was over 10 years ago. There have been reissues made but they really are cheap and nasty rubbish. Happy memories, thanks for posting.

I guess I should be glad I lack the kind of funds for a trip to the UK...Being an American viewer, I salivate at all those collections with the different covers and layouts than what we have here. For example that entire table at 35:55 would have me trying to wheel & deal for the entire collection. I'd blow terrible amounts of money.

Have to say I remember this disc very well. I was really looking forward to hearing the disc as I've long looked for a copy. I am so disappointed to find this video because the bloke doesn't play it directly onto his own sound, but has it playing in the background and it's picked up be a not very good microphone. And then he goes and talks over half of them!!
