Old Priest Grade is one of my all-time favorite routes to get too death Valley from Sacramento. There are no signs anywhere warning of danger! One time on a return trip I managed to "smoke" my breaks going the reverse route you show in the video. I barely stopped at the bottom of the hill, and you could see the smoke still smoldering from my breaks on my 350z roadster! It didn't help it was 90 degrees outside either. If you really want to raise awareness you should leave reviews on Yelp and google at local chamber of commerce buildings and the police station. :)

I've been going here for years, it's had a few owners in the past few years but it's always been amazing. The new owners know what they're doing though. I was there a month ago and then again 2 weeks ago. It's always a blast seeing the views and going fishing there. It's also just a beautiful resort in general. Always stayed in a cabin, cabin 9 is my jam lol but the last time I went into the hotel it was under the previous ownership. It looked a little out dated but it was still beautiful. Friendly staff, always friendly people staying there. Good prices on boat rentals and cabins. And if you want to camp it's only $20 a night for a spot. And the fishing there is great, definitely recommend renting a boat if you want to find a good spot because at certain parts of the day. The bulkhead by the dock with the picnic tables gets a bit crowded

New owner has many several improvements since then... such a wonderful place.

First, your music sucks in the video. Second, you could of and should of kept on 120, New Priest Grade. Google maps would NEVER take you up Old Priest. Third, you burned up your transmission going dawn while tailgating the car in front of you. I hope the Judge threw the book at you!

I went down it in my car and lost the brakes right at the bottom... Had 3 or 4 turns to go and no one was on the road at the time and made it all the way to the bottom....

There was HUGE signs at the bottom and top and have been there from back in 2006 that tell you not to go down it... Your blind and should not drive if you missed them.

Do you know where I can purchase a malshi, like any recommendations? I’ve been trying to find one for a year now and no luck :(

Stupid thing to do. There are warning signs with weight limits. You put everyone on that road in danger. A RV is too big to make some of the turns causing them to veer into on coming traffic in the other lane. Can't see anything coming at you until it's too late. Most people ignore the signs when they see smaller vehicles taking it. There is now a large painted sign on the road with a arrow pointing straight to stay on 120, along with the same warning sign so you stay on the correct road.

Myself and family, wife mother and father stayed here a few years back. Was a wonderful few days. I saw Mt St Helens erupt in 1980 so returning after 37 years was incredible!

The signs were posted but didn't need the signs, looking up at that steep ass road coming pretty straight down hill told me to take the road on the other side up and the same road down.

The first time I went Yosemite in my ladnrover disco 2 it no RV but that truck doesn’t handle that great compare to other suv and I don’t remember if I took the same road you did all I remember was a very curvy road up the mountain and right side is cliffs that whole going up take about 30-35min was crazy my shirt were wet when we final reach the top with wider road i was scared to death with wife and a toddler in the car.

Obviously you missed all of the signs. Coming out is fine. Going down is where the danger is. I found a car off this road, while hiking, that had been missing for nearly a year.

I just spent a week campining at Yosemite for the first time this past May. Amazing place but crowded even in the first week of May. Spectacular waterfalls.

I knew what your problem is. You kept looking at your stupid phone GPS which is dangerous when driving on this road. You sure are new and are not a skilled driver since you were busy looking down up or sideways at your phone gps not paying attention to the road sign. I saw the sign in another video. It is clearly posted on a readable 5ft sign with a big yellow warning sign on top of it. It also clearly posted pictures of the vehicles prohibited in case you were illiterate. What you are saying to everyone in the video is bs. The sign is there. If you can't train your eyes to stay on the road, you shouldn't be driving.

How pathetic is this, not only incapable of taking responsibility for one's own actions and admitting that maybe you overlooked a sign, but wan'ts to place the blame on others, and goes to the extent of making a video trying to convince the entire world otherwise. Lets spend several thousand or tens of thousands putting up massive signs every 100 feet in a wilderness area, with flashing lights, and solar powered lighting because some smuck can't observe the obvious danger inherent of driving your large mobile living room and kitchen down small rural mountain roads on a steep incline. Americans have become a creatures of selfish accommodation on a massive scale. I suspect this one didn't see the sign, simply because he was texting, on his phone, watching TV and eating his lunch during his arduous drive along the mountain side. But others are to blame.

I agree, we just got back from Yellowstone. The roads are very narrow and dangerous. You must obey all signs. However, I found that even location and exit signs were small and way to the left and are frequently missed.We also went to Canada and the grade on those roads is even more ridiculous, but they have better and more frequent signs to warn you and direct you. They even change speed limits depending on how fast traffic is going.. The speed changes on a digital sign. There are even warning for motorcycles" Warning, extremely dangerous road, drove with extreme caution.

The “no RVs” sign is at CA120, right? I saw it and I wasn’t even in an RV. I have an RV and I’d never choose that route. It’s not all that comfortable in a small rental car. If you’re in an RV and coming into Yosemite on CA 120, don’t. Go to Merced and use CA 140. It’s a lot easier for the RVer and the vehicles behind you.
