All the mentioned incidents were rather related to basic technical issues. The problems had nothing to do with aerodynamics ! You were idiots, maybe this was the problem ?!
@richardkudrna7503Сағат бұрын
Maybe someone will model the aerodynamics today and establish what the problem was. Maybe a dorsal fin? Vortex generators ahead of the stabilizers? The structure I’m sure could be analyzed.

You know a plane is bad when pilots resign when told they'll be flying it.

Interesting to see so many of the system concepts first used in the A-7 that ultimately went on to mature in the F-117. Those first Nighthawk pilots were training under the cover of being A-7 pilots.

The biggest problems were the engines and this was in most cases. Some planes survived long enough to see engine upgrades and become something and some didn’t.

Death by peaches. Apparently the O'Hare reps at all costs did not want their new runway to be scratched up by the USN.

Voigt: in German, the name is pronounced like "fucked", only with a long "o" (or "oh") sound instead of the "u". No lie. But oddly appropriate, don't you think?

India had decided to buy this aircraft. But later IAF ended up with Jaguars because of bribery or arm twisting on the Indian govt side. Sweden really is an understated power house in engineering and design.

I've always thought the A7 attractive, if in a slightly stumpy sort of way, while likewise the F8, in a slightly too lean sort of way. Now, if there was an A7.5, that would be drop-dead gorgeous!

This was a plane begging for canards. Among other benefits it wouldn’t need such a tall nose wheel.

Imagine a country that at the time had a population of 8 million only, managed to design and manufacture such an aircraft in large quantities. We were really on top of our game back then!

"Problematic Nazi DNA" ? Really? I very doubt that was a spreading rumor in the 50's. "Problematic" in This context is a very new and Orwellian concept. 1. Aquisition of Nazi tech was still uncommon knowledge. 2.people did view it as "spoils of war". 3. There were many literal copies of Nazi designed equiptment in all branches of service. Whats "Problematic" is the ever presence of rewritten history made for sensibilities infected with socialist mind virus.

Underpowered and straight winged fighters for the Navy and Marines put them behind their Airforce counterparts all through the Fifties until the F-4 & F-8 arrived on the scene. The Navy could have had a dominant record in Korea like the Airforce had against the Mig-15 with the Sabre if they had taken their jets at the time up powered and swept winged the Banshee and Panther. To get more Mig kills the exchange program putting Navy/Marine pilots in Airforce F-86 squadrons in Korea seemed the only recourse
