love your unique way of using gelli plate. also your accept is lovely. Have you considered having music playing in background? There is quite a lot of dead time where we are just looking at plate and nothing is happening and you are not talking. Music would add a lot of interest.

The Great Hairy Willow Herb! I rewatched that video yesterday because I've recently gotten a set of alcohol inks. Thanks for this flip through, it's cool seeing the scope of your works and the one at 20:09 (the right-side page) caught my eye. I reckon it's a bit tough waiting for the art school decision and I'm hoping they see the same spark of curious creativity that we see. My fingers and toes are crossed!

Has there ever been a better name apple (apart from apple of course!)😂 I’ve gotten into one of the colleges I applied to!!!! The other one is my preferred one as it gets you into second year of Glasgow art school. It will be a big change in lifestyle for me, gonna have to brush my hair 😱😂 I’ll keep doing KZfaq though, share stuff that I’m learning. Maybe in a style like this video as it’s a lot less work.

I am constantly amazed by the breadth of your design work. I enjoyed and learned from every page of these sketchbooks. Two pages in your yellow book, “the tidy one”, that speak to me personally are the black abstract on brown paper (gel print, one pull) and the drawing of a “tractor or something” done at The National Museum of Rural Life. Thank you for this inspiring and very valuable tour through your art.

This is terrific. I see all kinds of potential for drawing. Thank you for showing this. I’m certainly going to try it on a smaller plate to begin with. I know some people add extenders and retarders to their acrylic paint. Sometimes my paint dries so fast that once I get the paper on it, it doesn’t pick up well. It’s very hot Here and I have had to turn off the ceiling fan to slow down my paint drying.
@quirkyqueens2 күн бұрын
Hi Vivian, I’m way behind due to my parents house situation. Have you tried water mixable oils in the gel plate? I’ve tried a couple of times. Obviously quite limited as you have to use an oil friendly paper if you want to keep it. But for experimenting, may be useful. I’ve only recently started painting with them, but I love they stay wet for like a day or more. I have mediums but sometimes I get a bit lazy using them…I don’t know why 🫣🤷🏼♀️😂
@quirkyqueens2 күн бұрын
Or block printing ink. I might try that later…. I struggle with the stiffness of it but I might put some medium in to see what it does (even if it’s not compatible, just for experimenting).

Britta, I’m soooooooo sorry I’m so late replying. I’ve been up to my eyes in it. Some good….like applying to start an art degree!!!!!!!!!! This would change my life and I really really really hope I get in this year 🤞🏻 Also my parents house fire saga continues. 9 months later it’s still stagnant due to uninsured guy and lack of council action. I’ve been communicating with every public body I think can help. It’s a lot of research getting to the right people as, understandably, no one wants to take a complex case like this on. Our weather has been ridiculously awful. We went to an art gallery in Edinburgh on Saturday. 11.5 degrees…it was really cold, even with jumpers. My garden is neglected this summer…so far. It’s just raining so often. I hope you had a lovely weekend Britta ❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️
