Getting so hammered you know you're gonna throw up, THEN continue wanting more alcohol is the sign of a true champion and scholar.

I wish this was more accurate, or that they actually added corrections somewhere. The Washingtons wanted to give her to Martha's granddaughter, not Martha's daughter, who had a notorious temper as a wedding present. The Washingtons themselves had no power to free Ona due to how they "inherited" her, through Martha's first marriage. When Ona escaped, they gave Ona's younger sister Philadelphia to the granddaughter, who did eventually free Philadelphia during her divorce. The Washingtons considered themselves kind slaveowners, but also supported punishments like whipping, sales of enslaved peoples to the West Indies, etc. They never loved any of the people they enslaved. They always chose themselves and doubled down even when they should have known better. Their best offer for Ona to return was to tell her she wouldn't be punished for leaving.

“Theyre 1840s doctors they don’t know anything - they don’t even know about antibiotics yet” I cannot tell you how hard I laughed because of the absolute trueness behind that statement and irony.

I wonder why they always told you what the narrator had had to drink on the Funny Or Die episodes but not on the Comedy Central ones.
