I am so happy that the best music production video I ever found on the internet is by a woman. THIS IS AMAZING

My biggest problem is chords. I can make basslines all day. But trying to make chords that go along with what the bass is doing kills anything I have going on with a track. Thank you for the chord explanation

Im very sorry, but the way you showed the recording in the first Audio file doesnt work with me, I have to click the main record button on the top next to the pause\Play. But it doesnt work at all anymore with the second audio line. Unfortunately I cant see what you do to record the second one, as your video image is running where the audio line settings are :/ Sorry but Im super confused...
@khartbeats4 күн бұрын
Hey, I can see how it’s a bit confusing. So the red button on the right is just to arm the track so you’re right that you have to press the big record button at the top to make it record anything. So for the second time, basically I armed a new audio track, set it to resampling and then pressed the record button at the top to capture the audio with the added effects.

There’s a little headphone icon near the top left of the piano roll. If you click it, you can hear the notes you’re inputting or if you highlight them. Hope that helps!

can you explain the hotkeys youre pressing to like add the drums and hear the note as youre adjusting it in the wave mixer thing
@khartbeats9 күн бұрын
For this one I just loaded some one shot samples into a drum rack for the kick and snare and just played them in using the corresponding note on my midi keyboard. You can also pencil the midi in using the piano roll…there is a little picture of some headphones near the top left of the piano roll you can press so you can hear the sample when you’re placing it.

i don’t understand how it’s 2024 and there’s no DAW that can just slice at the exact transient. you always have to go behind it and correct the slices.

How did you get to the point where you know what all these knobs and buttons are and what they do. Like Matrix, LFO, filter, and all these other fancy technical names? Im asking because I would like to get to a point where I could have control of shaping the sound I want as well. Also that "chip-toony" sound was dope af. I digress. Thank You! this video is cool!
@khartbeats20 күн бұрын
Hey, thank you! From knowing nothing about sound design, it probably took me like a solid 6 months of watching videos, reading articles (and the manual!) and just messing around before I started to understand how this stuff works. It definitely takes time!

if possible can you explain more in detailed on how exactly you found the key note for the bass ? i dont quite understand how u captured the note 😅 thanks in advance
@khartbeats20 күн бұрын
Hey, yeah, so the spectrum analyzer basically shows what frequencies (notes) are being played. And since this sample already had bass in it, I just checked what notes it was playing by using the spectrum analyzer. Basically the largest spikes will show important frequencies like root, fifth, etc 🙂
