Yall are acting like the new girls are not begging to have a nicki feature. Drake leeches on the new artist, it the opposite with nicki.

Megan never dissed nicki. She dissed drake, bc of the shots he threw at her. The shoe just fit. A hit dog hollered.

If you go back and listen to all of Drake's music all of his bars about women make more sense if you place a 16-year-old girl in those shoes rather than an adult woman I've always been confused about how strangely Drake talks about women and how it always seems like he's talking about very young girls in his songs compared to other rappers, so for me I don't even need proof that this is happening because I can hear it in the way he says "you'll be big as Madonna, just get in the car", "say you get up early, you work for the man, we'll he'll understand" (her dad?). He talks about seeing potential in the "girls" he dates, being disappointed in them like a parent, he encourages young women to drop out of school to come entertain him, because that's where more money is. As a victim, I can see all the signs. Maybe you can say "I don't think hes a 'p-3-d-o'", but it's different when it's just celebrity fan speculation. Those children are in danger. That's what Kendrick is trying to say in one of those songs. This is bigger than rap culture. Those kids are in danger. Kendrick is taking a stance against grooming, not drake. He's taking a stance against grooming by showing that he's willing the attack even drake to die on that hill, that a predator can look so innocent like drake or himself with his own confessions of domestic violence. Idk, it's not just a speculation for me. It's obvious. I've had married men in their 40's say the same things drake says in these interviews to avoid responding to age gap questions when I was 14-15. Groomers never change, they're all so unoriginal and stupid enough to hopefully get themselves caught. I used to look up to drake. Not like us.

I formerly would defend my love for drake against my boyfriend on a daily basis before all this came out. Now he's happy and I've had to come to terms with the cognitive dissonance of being a drake fan

I always slept on nicki and I listen to lady rappers. Because she seemed like a giant pick me. I love Doja Cat, who sort of has the same "idgaf" energy that Nicki PRETENDS to have. and Megan is my GOAT, she an freestyle without making idiotic clown noises

And remember Megan came for Drake in her diss song Hiss but it also suits Nicki's creepy husband so she just inserted herself in basically admitting to all of Hiss lyrics... 🫢🫢🫢🫢damn.

I was a Nicki fan, almost a stan but at some point even the biggest fan needs to acknowledge some facts. She became repeatitive and lazy. Last album is just... big disappointment. Beef with Megan... it was the end for me. And i never liked Drake so it's delightful to see people opening their eyes finally. So yeah...

Wow u mentioned everything but the music, most stadium artist music touch two to 3 decades of adults. A lot of recent artist of streaming are not big outside of 10 years of their actual age. Once again the music has to be good to get noticed by different generations, most streaming artist of today cant even do the 5,000 to 10,000 seat venues wiz kalifa was doing and he wasnt even a big artist of his era. Their success is more on populartity and not hating and that shit dont translate to ticket sales. Perfect example Megan thee stallion

You made some good points. I’ve worked in the concerts / touring and live events field for 5 years. Part of what makes concerts so expensive are the expenses that go into the concert (production, hotels, hospitality, staffing etc.) but also the artist’s pay. The reason those Ice Spice tickets are like $95 must mean she’s making at least a good $50k on that show and probably more if it’s a versus deal. The other thing that people misunderstand about arenas is that it’s not easy to sellout an arena. You really have to have massive crossover appeal and/or be a major legacy act or just have a diehard fanbase as you mentioned. But one thing I would add is that it also depends on the city and the genre. Cities with large populations and hip hop communities might host a rapper at the local sports arena. But cities like Phoenix just don’t bring those kinds of crowds and promoters know that. That’s why a rapper doing an amphitheater in LA might do a theatre in Phoenix. Most American cities just do not meet that kind of demand for hip hop.

Kendrick last tour for his latest album sold over $100mill . He puts on a full artist experience at his shows. I do believe Rappers are going to have to step it up at their shows . People wants more for their money than a rapper holding a Mike and moving from one side of the stage to another. Which means very few rappers can cover the cost for such a show.

I don’t like it bc I’m feeling forced to see this girl everywhere. It’s mass manipulation at its finest and it’s actually scary. Her aesthetic has a deeper meaning to the industry, it’s a ploy to make trashy a normal thing, it’s ruining the creativity of hiphop and the art it was built on. I like when artists are organic and have humble come ups. And stay humble, true to who they are. Ice has turned very egotistical and self centered, competitive and not fun anymore.

I do agree on the industry thing, they're also doing that with Sexy Redd. Let me tell you why they do it. Because it's a shock factor that makes people tune it, they keep making the party tracks or doing publicity stunts that go viral on the internet and in return the labels gets more income from views and streams. Record labels don't care about talent, learned alot of about this from Prince. It is a business, it's a bunch of suits and ties who don't know a lick about music using trends and the next hot thing to make money. Alot of these garbage rappers aren't even making big money like they claim and boast about especially if they are signed to a label.

You're right. Picking smaller venues for the tour is genius. It's the exact opposite of Jennifer Lopez's overambitious and incompetent tour management, which got her clowned on and had to be scaled down multiple times despite her being a much bigger celebrity. For anyone who isn't Taylor Swift, it's smart to admit that you aren't Taylor Swift and manage your career realistically.
