My wife and I took our own snorkelling gear when we went to Fitzroy Island for our anniversary recently. The lighthouse and summit is a steep walk but worth it. I find it hard to believe but if you felt tired at all on the short walk to Nudey Beach then the longer walk is definitely NOT for you. Australia has a LOT of beaches I would rate above Nudey Beach - for starters most people prefer white (or yellow) sand beaches to coral beaches. Blue Lagoon, Fraser Island - secluded, few people, white sand, fresh water, no waves. Granite Bay, Noosa - secluded, not crowded, pale sand, rideable waves, shade trees near the water. Tangalooma Wrecks, Moreton Island - sandy beaches, very small waves, snorkelling at the wrecks. Heron Island - crushed coral beaches but even better snorkelling around the whole island also a massive turtle and reef research station.

One word of caution. Adding anything to the 4, even the small ND filters will raise the weight above 249 grams, thus reaching the requirement to to register the drone and fly under the American equivalent of Canadian RPAS Basic, if not flying in controlled airspace which requires Advanced rating. Personally, I don't worry about it, as most people wouldn't know if filter installed (landing gear another story) nor do most people know anything about drones plus there is a hell of a lot of wilderness up here and a large country with very few drone police. Chances of running into Transport Canada inspector is highly unlikely and if flying responsively, you should have no issues.

The best video explaining how nd filters are working so far. Do You really think that we need all of them? UV, CPL, 8, 16, 32, 64 ?
@JustinBainbridgeYT
@JustinBainbridgeYT Күн бұрын
Thank you! It depends really. I don't really use the PL filter. The UV is nice for when no nd is needed as it offeres an extra layer of protection fo the camera lens. I use the 8,16 nd 32 most often, I haven't used the 64 yet.
@smokehead5318
@smokehead5318 Күн бұрын
@@JustinBainbridgeYT That make sense. SO PL filter is not that useful - We can not use ND + PL filter together to get rid of glare + get nice motion blur together right?
@JustinBainbridgeYT
@JustinBainbridgeYT Күн бұрын
@smokehead5318 You're correct, it's not like on Cinematic drones where you can get polarised ND filters. Mostly because fpv shots are so much more dynamic, the polarisation would be changing all the time. So a standard ND is normally fine.

I returned my Goggles 3 and motion controller. I did not enjoy the experience AT ALL. The pairing process was brutal, even though probably better than it could have been in years past. The goggles not coming with a case, or having the same interface / menus as the RC2, that was the deal sealer for me. Overall, the quality of the Goggles 3 just felt cheesy. I've played a ton of sims, video games, etc in my days and the RC2 felt absolutely ridiculous in terms of intuitive use. Thumbs down!
@JustinBainbridgeYT
@JustinBainbridgeYT Күн бұрын
Yeah I think a few people will have done the same thing. The case things is annoying too as you have to get a 3rd party case to carry it along with the Mini. Then the Mini starts to become a lot bigger to carry around.

I got a 12 with the lens mod 2.0. The most important thing to capture when skiing is the horizon and sky at the top and at least the tips of your skis on the bottom. Do you think the 8:7 w/b good for skiing, or should it be 16:9 to capture the panos?
@JustinBainbridgeYT
@JustinBainbridgeYT Күн бұрын
It really depends where you want to share the footage. 8:7 will give you the most versatility to crop for vertical or horizontal. But with the max lens mod I'm pretty sure you would still see the tips of the ski's even in 16:9 The FOV is crazy with that thing.
@TheBourneBlogger
@TheBourneBlogger Күн бұрын
@@JustinBainbridgeYT After I set it up and dug a little deeper, I came to realize the lens mod 2.0 only offers 16:9 or 4:3. I think you're right though - the FOV is so big that I'll be able to squeeze it all into the frame with 16:9. Thanks!

Hey just to supplement my earlier comment with you. I have gotten even better with hand launching/landing! Now it’s the only way I do it! From the bottom on takeoff, and above with the orange button every time. Just have to be careful not to give it any up or down change or it will accelerate to will try breakaway, NO FLIPPING! I still worry about the torque on the motor shafts! Thanks again!
@JustinBainbridgeYT
@JustinBainbridgeYT Күн бұрын
Awesome! I would still recommend flipping as it'll be much easier. There isn't any adverse load on the motor shafts during this They experience the same loads during normal flight and will be completely fine, but I do understand peoples hesitation. Once you've done it a couple of times it's so much more effecient. But whatever works for you, maybe give it a try and see what you think 😉

@JustinBainbridgeYT 3 күн бұрын
@user-pi5gg9ij3y you can get some cinematic shots but not as good as the mini 4 pro. The lack of a 3 axis gimbal causes issues when you try to turn the gimbal down in any kind of wind. You get some wobble in the footage. You can get slow simple shots with horizon leveling. But the mini 4 pro does a much better job at this. 😃

@@JustinBainbridgeYT Thanks for replying Justin. Nice! I wasn’t going to fly my Avata 2 manual but after watching your videos, I took the plunge lol. I spent around 20hours + in some sims on Steam playing with the RC3 and this helped 100%, then when I went out the first couple times with the real deal, my heart was pounding lol! I can now fly comfortably in manual/acro mode, ain’t no expert but I can do stuff like flips/rolls/spilt S etc and actually being able to do all those tricks, makes the basic stuff easier.
