Can you do.Shira tails without a shaper?

@Dani-ri3ju You can! I just tried it on myself with both one and two scarves, and it worked just fine! Just make sure you follow my other tips for wrapping without a shaper - Use a velvet headband to prevent slippage, start further down on your forehead, keep the scarves light - and Shira tails will work best if the tail you bring over your head is folded more narrowly. 😊

How do you keep the scarves on your head without bobby pins to keep them from sliding back and off? D= If I tie mine too tight it gives me a headache and then still slips off anyways

@@MarsellaFyngold I wear a velvet headband or a shaper with velvet around the front underneath all my wraps! That is key! I buy most of mine from Wrapunzel, but they're available from many different retailers.

Question; I have short hair due to hair loss. Regrowing takes a long time. So how does one wrap scarves when you can’t make a bun?

@@rlpeters58 All of the actual shapers that I show here will work beautifully with very short hair or no hair at all! About the only option that would be hard for you to do is using a volumizing scrunchie, though some ladies simply tuck one into the back as they're tying that first knot. If you want my tips on wrapping with no shaper at all, you should check out my video on wrapping without a shaper, and all those tips will be just the same for someone with short/no hair!

I was literally weeping with frustration because nobody told me not to use a pashmina - thank you so much! I started wrapping daily late last year, and have been using elasticated head coverings, but I desperately wanted to tie my own. Now I finally can!

@joorourke8134 Hmm, that's a tough one! I'm my experience, how much hair shows in the back is pretty purely a product of your hairline and the shape of your skull. You might have more luck using a velvet headband under a shaper, but in general I don't advise wrapping further down on the neck even if you can because it's going to make your entire wrap more likely to move when you turn your head or look up. If you feel very strongly about not having any hair show at the back of your head, veil styles may be your best bet. But I can experiment some more and see what I find!

There was a lady on utube who did tutorials with a little 'skirt' at the back of her neck. It was like a regal wrap that was folded larger/wider when she put it on. I will see if I can find it.

could you consider doing more without a shaper? I am working on wrapping my head due to medication and chemo taking my hair -- and the shaper thingies are too hot. I appreciate all the styling ideas, though! I'm working on getting away from "just beanies". I have a large skull, which makes a lot of the pretty wraps not work properly.

As a jew I cannot understand why you wants to cover your head but let anyone see many private parts of your body, like the chest or your arms at the same time... The jewish religion doesnt accept that and its also forbidden to wear clothes, which are tight, that someone can see which Bodyfigure u have... The ancient jewish faith never accepted such things. If you dont want to hear this, then its your choice, but its not modest in the eyes of HaShem. If you really wants to looks pious you should also wear a real head covering which covers all hairs. This, for example, is also mentioned in the Zohar. Its not against you, but its your duty to fullfill all mitzvot the best as you can, by knowing them correctly... Shalom!
