IDK, I am pretty sure I've seen them for as low as $10 a pop. I've gotten a few free as well. they tend to not be expensive. $23 sounds high to me, but who knows, market prices may vary by location and local market demands etc.

@rodrossi9749 Yes, they were about $13 at Hobby Lobby, a great deal. You can still buy entire brand new Auto World slot cars there for $19.99, if you're lucky enough to have one in your area. I'm right in the middle of 3 stores, a 10 minute drive to any of them.

Rumor around the campfire some kid(s) apparently swallowed pieces and or magents resulting in a trip to the er resulting on the kits being pulled and when they do come back out the mags might be pre set into the chassis. Anyone with common sense would know not to out these parts in their mouths but then again we live in the tide pod age. Hell ive been bugging about semi truck pit kits, id love to see them someday. Of course the window lickers at HL have no idea why and rumors again here that HL just threw those remaining kits in the dumpster. Wished i knew about that day dammit. We'll we watching to see what the fall brings.

Yeah, I heard the speculation about what the problem could be, just hoping they bring them back in some form. A semi is a fantastic idea! I would love to see that! I would have loved to be able to dumpster dive at the end of the Aurora era, and possibly at Hobby Lobby now, too! Lol!

I was wondering why I haven't seen them for a while. I know I've encountered several kits with scattered parts and I got one of those Super III NASCARs that keeps popping the rear motor bushing cap out and binding the motor. Most of them have been excellent though, I've gotten some serious race cars out of the Mustang TJet and the 4Gear Van with just a bit of tinkering. Can't wait until they're back. Thanks for putting in the leg work on this 🌟

I was just quickly perusing and saw that red lap counter with the yellow pointer at 24:39 mark of the video. I still have this but have to dig out sowmehere from the basement. I was thinking of using this before my brrther and I went with Viasue's lap counter.

You're much better off using Viasue than that lap counter. I've had that antiquated piece since the 1970s and it's not the greatest solution. The worst part is it can leave wear marks on your cars after many many laps, if that's a concern.

Thank you! I love many of the Micro Scalextric cars, as I'm a big fan of the peculiar stuff, Lol, and they do have quite a bit to offer in that category and the cars have always driven very nicely for me. I haven't set up the track in quite a while though, as it stays together very well but then is sort of a pain to take apart. They were the very first slot cars I introduced my first grandchild to, when I realized how well they were glued to the track and the controllers could be turned down to keep everyone on the track all day. I've actually purchased a handful of sets over the years, since it always seems to be a better deal to buy a whole set if you want at least one of the cars, especially when they go on deep discount on Amazon. One day, I'll need to set up one huge track on the floor using all the pieces. I don't have any of the older track, so I won't be able to compare. What is your opinion on the old vs new?

@@All-ScaleSlotCars Well I grew up on AFX as micro wasn't really a thing when I was young but I do now have both the older Micro (not Marchon) and the newer system. The issue with the new 9v system is that it doesn't allow you to run 12v cars so if you have a collection you can't run them. I understand why Scalextric redesigned Micro but they failed to capture the HO market and instead they have it as a stepping stone to 1/32. It is a shame for the UK as people don't get a good HO experience and don't see it as a viable option. It is possible to get AFX, bulldog, viper, Auto world cars and lexan and after market hop ups from one supplier. I like the older Scalextric system for cars as they were detailed but the new system is limited with car choice. 1/43 scale is now far more popular here and I have recently seen the rise of SCX compact and have to say that is a great price and product but I love HO, Scalextric unfortunately killed HO off in 2019. Unless we get AFX back in shops it will never be more than a stepping stone 😭

Great video brother!! Great collection. I did buy a scalextric money Carlo last year the number 55 that simulates the shoal bandit car. I continue to collect the carerra 132 digital nascars. I have Tony Stewart bass pro shops #14 without spoiler , Kevin Harvick jimmy johns #4 without spoiler , and both Jeff Burtons #31 AT&T & Cingular cars both have spoilers . All have Paul Gage urethane tires front & rear. Also have scalextric Dale jr. #88 national guard and #5 Kellogg corn flakes car. Also have the 4 new nascars coming out in October on pre order.

I have a double pit lane and unfortunately one of my pit lane entry’s the lane gate is malfunctioning and so it will not open all the way causing cars to D-slot. Which ruins races. She had to reconstruct to a single lane which sucks only cause I’m used to a 2 lane . So hard to wait and finally got another pit lane which has been put in had to extend my rack from 48’ to 50’ so I thought was time to add jumpers which I did every 16+ft. Track is finally put together. Gotta finish up the lights for night time racing. Hopefully 3-4 weeks be completely finished. Maybe give a teaser in the next week just for a heads up lol

Here's a footnote for you: Scalextric is footing the bill for a free pair of socks when you make a purchase from them. Upon hearing that news, something became afoot in the slot car community. People are kicking around all sorts of ideas on what to do with the socks. For me personally, this has a deeper meaning. You see, my wife always wonders why I can buy new slot cars, yet wear out old socks until they develop holes. (She should try walking in my shoes).

Some of those Scalextric stock cars look very familiar. I featured 5 of them in lap testing recently. I find the guide blades are not very good on Carrera track but there are alternatives available. Nice video🏁

Thank you so much! Yeah, when I get the chips in them, I'm going to have to play around with them and see how they run together. I've got Slot Invasion guides on standby, as well as urethane tires. I'm hoping to not need them, but will go that route if necessary. The main goal is to get them to run very evenly to each other. Are you enjoying yours?

No question is stupid at all, I appreciate your asking! Unfortunately, you can only race against 1 ghost car, whichever car you program for the red lane. I'm not sure of you're aware, but this is the first in a playlist of 4 videos I made about this. Rose only races in the St. Olaf Grand Prix, Lol! They're actually from a company named Jumpin' Banana. Very inexpensive for a complete set of two cars with a small track. They're a little difficult to handle until you get the hang of it. They'll also run on the Go track or probably any of the larger scale tracks. Great fun to bring them out at a party for the grandmothers! I'm hiding them from my wife until the next occasion where I can surprise her with this, Lol!

The oil on your fingertips will destroy the Chrome on these cars. I learned the hard way. Use Latex or Nitrile gloves when handling these cars.

I purely collect them for my own enjoyment. Most of them will never touch a slot car track. They will only be displayed.

But now, as an adult, I do have the money. I cannot explain how much this hobby means to me. This is my passion, this is my world. I’m so very proud to be a collector, for my own enjoyment.
