29:42 Also, as you know, "storing" LP's one needs to store them UPRIGHT. However after a certain time, these need to be INVERTED (upside down) to ensure they don't SAG vertically, resulting in a wobbly record when it's played later. I tend to keep mine one way (or the other) for far too long, so I too, need to go and flip the covers over, to have them sagging the other way, after all, they do sag over time - even on their (upright) edges. Sometimes I wil also gently spin them say 90 degrees inside the covers, to achieve a rotational anti-sag.

29:21 What I think? I think you did an amazing revew of all those vinyls and thus YOU MUST revoke that disputed content. Make an anti-copyright caim against the MUTING oof that one clipp, which destroys the integrity of your entire documentary review of several vinyl albums. Gat emmotional too, and claim FAIR USE had been applied BY YOU
@QUIX4U3 күн бұрын
I had to DOWN THUMB that a wee bit, as the "playing" of the records is a little lopsided. You have a lower output on the RHS channel, which means that the balance is set incorrectly, or the tracking has been set too hard one way or the other, pulling the tone-arm onto the side of the groove, rather than sitting deep. It could also mean that you desperately need to change the needle, as it may be wearing out.? Cheers. p.s: Your MONO documentary is "centered" in the frontal MONO channel, meaning it's the same "loudness" in each of the Left & Right channels, unlike your turntable's output.. Maybe you had the camera too far away from the RH speaker or maybe it's just a low "loudness" setting somewhere... All the best as I also PLAY video's and music, in a different format. Front & Rear centers only. It's the "perfect=way" to highlight the incorrect balance settings, that your turntable to camera audio has, which throws the frontal/rear balance off so far, as to be "sent" from one side to the other, when I invert the front & rear signal inputs. Then, going back to the "normal" Left&Right" (frontal only) stereo - the balance goes WAY to the left I'm thinking, from the "VIEW" of the turntable that we are seeing, means the camera is VERY close to the left speaker, and as such is a LONG way from the RHS speaker. THAT is a nasty place to place the mics as there is a possibility of putting the camera's mics in a DEAD zone, where the loudness of the Left Speaker's sound waves, interfere so much with the quieter RHS speaker's output, creates a dead zone that eliminates MOST of the quality o the RHS. You desperately need to find a way of putting a camera tripod in the exact center "between the two speakers" - about ten feet out into the room, to avoid an out-of-balance recording. That way, you will possibly gain the 60degrees either side of halfway, that allows the two frontal speakers to reproduce exactly, their 120degree split. Or try hard wiring a feed from the stereo amp, directly into the camera, for the perfectly balanced sound that we need to hear PLUS" At 25:41 your video's audio cuts out, with a potential COPYRIGHT CLAIM, against whatever the music was.. which means ZERO sound, until after you restart talking at 26:03 I hate that as its NOT actuall true is it. YOU can claim FAIR USE as you are merely making a documentary on "minute clips" for review of the album's owners, and are thus NOT using the audio for any commercial purpose. It's worth a shot, as you MAY FIND, that your FAIR USE is being abused and that's why KZfaq muted the audio (it was NOT that the camera cut out, but KZfaq cutting both the visual as well as the audio, until they allowed the visual without the audio conteny. TRY making a rebuttel argument with regards to the FAIR USE concept - of the copyright act they claimed.

i never understand why some people purge their entire collection. As someone who has now collected Vinyl and CDs for over 30 years, i've never had even the remotest desire to purge it all. Yes i've sold off batches of stuff before, to thin out the things that didn't matter to me-------but music is at the center of my life with my family! I guess someone may for financial reasons? But even then a complete purge sounds more to me as if someone wants to change themself completely and is looking for a catalyst by that kind of disruption.

Turgid dross! Starting with the ambient twaddle,, continuing with the anodyne individual who wasn't even born when the dross was released, and then the presentation of the sacred relics that had been curated for wank value alone. Hey, mate! Do you know how to party? Do real women have sex with you? Do you have parties? Do you handle everything with white cotton gloves? Your taste in music is your business, but you sound like a real downer. I have several thousand records, buy many pristine copies at cents on the pound, and play 'em all hard and fast on a quality t/table. They are for fun. They are not "rare". No record is rare, unless it is crap music, which is why it only sold minuscule amounts. Get out of your rabbit hole and go and get laid.

Johnny Osbourne's Truth and Rights is terrific as well. A well played record in my collection. Just wish the Studio One stuff would get the reissues they deserve. In total disarray for decades now.The cover almost looks like a Blue Note cover. All the best to you, Steve.

One of the things that keeps me from getting an especially spendy cartridge is that I'm aware of how clumsy I can be. I've torched a record or two and at least one stylus by just being... me. Love it James. Your attention to finding and grabbing records that you truly want is inspiring. The Michael Gibbs is a great find and funny to see that trend at antique stores is the same even in NZ. That is with the obvious rock records being priced sky high and then the lesser known records being so cheap. Awesome to find that Sierra lp so cheap. I sold the single lp version with the intention of finding the double. Cheers!

Hey James. I saw Michael Nyman with the Michael Nyman Band nearly 30 years. He'd moved on from his earlier minimalist phase, to the punky driving neo baroque. Great concert.
