Thank you Patty, I have your book and I love it. I always carry it in my project bag. I became confused when I attempted the ‘best buttonhole ever’ from the book, I am better with live tutorials with some things, therefore I am very grateful to have found this button tutorial and wanted to thank you 🙏🥰

You have to run through the color calibration card that is included with the printer and then it works great.

Not really. The video class is many years old and has a small portion of the information in the book. The workbook correlates to what you'll learn in the book.

Love this!!! Does the book give you ideas for the 12 patterns to continue your practice? Do you anticipate a KZfaq workbook along to get us going with this?
@PattyLyonsKnitting5 күн бұрын
No, the whole idea is for each knitter to think about what they'd like to learn next. It's not about pushing my patterns. I want you to knit ANYTHING!! I might think about a course on my education platform, but I'm also developing programing for the LYS to encourage them to run technique-alongs

Thanks Patty, the workbook is full of great ideas. I was wondering if I should start at the beginning of your tips and tricks and work my way through but, you had already thought of a great teaching and learning aid. Your CDD is a winner! Now I just need every other technique. I would also like to share with you that my ability to fix a mistake has benefitted by your ‘why’ question. Working back through the steps of what I should have done (but didn’t!) has really helped me to understand what I have done and maybe change a bad habit as well as fixing the original mistake. Many, many thanks for helping me and millions of others with happy knitting.😊

Hello! I’m hoping you can help me in a complete long shot/desperate post. But I’m trying to find a solution for an appropriate cast off for a neckline in knit 1 purl 2 ribbing? It was originally supposed to be knit 1, purl 1 with an Italian sewn bind off. But I had to improvise on the ribbing and now I’m at a loss for a clean, semi stretch bind off for this neckline with my knit 1, purl 2.

Novice question: why do designers use ssk if k2tog is already nice?
@PattyLyonsKnittingАй бұрын
These are different stitches. SSK is a single left leaning decrease. K2tog is a single right leaning decreases. We use decreases to shape our fabric. There are many different decreases with different looks. To learn more about these and other stitches, check out: pattylyons.com/product/how-to-read-your-knit-stitches-master-the-pattern/

I want to try this on the sweater I’m knitting. But I have a question: do I have to cut the yarn after every single stripe? It looks like I always need a tail to do this. That will be a lot of ends to sew in 😊
@PattyLyonsKnittingАй бұрын
This is a specific trick for inserting one or two stripes in a solid background. If your sweater is all single row stripes you would use Helix knitting. If it's many multi row stripes, then see my video on 2 row stripe.

Hi, is there a one move version for ssp?
@PattyLyonsKnitting2 ай бұрын
Only if you reverse the stitch mount on the row before. Say a row starts with P2, ssp, the row before you can work to the last 4 stitches and then do an eastern knit (wrap over) on 2 stitches that will be the ssp. Then the next row, you just work 2 together through the back loop.

I'm currently working on a Fair Isle project so I was glad I came across this tutorial. The instructions were very clear and helpful. I have a question, however -- that is, the project I'm working on has three rows of one color in one section. Do I continue doing this jogless method even when the row has no color change or do I just do it in sections where there are two or more colors? I would appreciate any assistance you can give me. Thank you!
@PattyLyonsKnitting2 ай бұрын
Do you mean you have a three row stripe between stranded sections? For that you'll want to use the two row jogless stripe join. Knit your first full round of the solid color, do this jog on the 2nd round, - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d7tmgMZ6l7CYnas.html
@shirleydotts84722 ай бұрын
@@PattyLyonsKnitting No, it's not a stripe pattern. It's part of the Fair Isle design but three of the rows are one color. So there are a few rows with two colors and then three rows with one color then several rows with two colors again. I'm not sure if the jogless method moves the stitches so that I'm required to continue the jogless method even when I'm knitting the three rows with one color. I hope that makes sense.
@PattyLyonsKnitting2 ай бұрын
@@shirleydotts8472 Yes, one color is a stripe. That's why I asked - Do you mean you have a three row stripe between stranded sections? If there are three rows that are one color, that is a three row stripe. Try reading my comment again and check out the video I'm linking to.
