This is what I'm exactly going through with my 6.5x284 Norma with H-4831SC with almost as low charge as the books show. Thank you for taking time to tell us Bob from Capstone sent me your way 50 weeks out Wow!!! I guess I will just purchase the entire bolt. I find it odd they don't correct this issue sense checking my firing pin I see a flat spot on the tip which has made it like a spear so I'm punchering the primer. Check the ends of your firing pin for roundness it could be sneaking up on you like myself.. another awesome video, Greg it's why your so busy Wisdom.

I just installed a beautifully-tooled Gre'Tan fluted firing pin assembly and ejector/spring in a spare LA bolt. Super fit and finish. Easy to do (I've had that tool you showed in the video). Nice!

Greg, thanks for this visual explanation. I am struggling with this in my 6.5 and 300 pPRCs. Have been reloading for over a year can't get near the lands. That being said, these VLD bullets and ELD match bullets seem to tolerate long "jump" distance. Couple questions: 1: are you changing how you chamber now increasing the free bore because of these new bullet lengths and tolerance of long jump distance? 2: if we were to send you a dummy round, the chamber would accept only that bullet or those very near that CBTO length? Thanks

Greg, what if I am designing from scratch a wildcat cartridge where I can’t provide a dummy cartridge? It seems like a chicken vs egg thing. If my design has never been built before, where do I start; reamer, dies , etc....

Great video. I love cutaway visuals of whats actualy happening inside barrels/dies etc. Had a hard time convincing guys at the club that it dosnt give a true reading if they used a neck sized fired case from their chamber as a guage. Full length sized factory spec case is the only way to get a clean read when theyre trying to measure ogive to rifleing overall length.

This looks like a Bergara bolt and appears to be the problem I’m having.
