Nice to see someone not damming tts! I've put tts for sound with a esu 21pin in a 66. No resister was added as hornby don't add a resister in the non motored hst power car. Works great.

Hi Matt, Would giving the TTS chip a different ID address then setting the two chips up as a consist stop the brakes issue? Just a thought. I use a second chip on a different address with TTS to give me more functions for lighting. Cheers Rich

HI, Love the layout, I've just subscribed. There's nothing sad about collecting trains you work on, I do the same. I've got loads of HST's that I've driven. That's not a problem, but I bought a Hornby Hitachi 800, just because I drive them and I don't even like them, now that's sad! Keep up the great work, look forward to more, Cheers Rich

Hi Matt, you're an absolute star I can't thank you enough, I have just bought 3 heljan 47s off ebay and I have done what you said and they run absolutely lovely now, I have done 2 of them as I only have 2 tts chips one ran really jittery and the other was even worse, just ordered another chip and will be doing the same to that one, just one thing I used a 1k resister and the tts chip gets a little bit hot, what value resisters do you recommend? Thanks again Matt well done 👏

Great footage of a great layout. You might be interested in the dirt cheap "808" style keychain cameras. These are used by some RC plane modellers to record flights, as they're cheap, easy to gut and power. One of those might even fit inside the cab of a diesel loco?

Hi Matty, I've been trying to re-spray some hornby mk3 coaches but I cant get the windows out easily. I have tried glue remover but it just dissolves the plastic and gets on the windows. I've looked online but nothing has worked. Do you have any advice on how to remove the glazing easily without damaging it? Thanks, Louis
@mattymidland14 жыл бұрын
Hi Louis, it's a bit trial and error really, some of the hornby ones seem to have massive amounts of glue on them which is most Annoying, the way I do it is to get a flat bladed small screwdriver under the glazing and pry them out slowly, then number them on the glass and the coach so they go back in the same place, there's not really an easy. Way to do it, I like to use la mk3 if possible as the glazing all comes out in one piece so makes life alot easier. Hope this helps
@louislatham15414 жыл бұрын
@@mattymidland1 Thanks for the advice! I'm using slam door virgin mk3s which seem to have a lot of glue on them so progress is slow, but i saw some advice which said cold damages glue, and they are coming out much easier after a few hours in the freezer. hopefully mine will turn out as well as yours did!

Hey Matty - been watching your videos lately. Nice selection of HSTs my friend. And love your layout. <jealous> I am about to start respraying some of my locos and want to know where you got your "pan handle", I think you call it, from. I've searched up everything I can think of but not been able to find one like it. Any tips or hints please? I'm down-under but I have family in Scotland, so if its local, they may be able to get it. Any assistance you can provide would be great and appreciated. Hope you can get back on the rails soon (if you're not already) and COVID is easing up slowly in the UK. Cheers - Andrew in Perth (Western Australia, not Scotland!) ;-)

Hi Andrew, thanks for the comments, u won't be the first person that's asked about the paint handles, I used to get mine from a place called Eileen's emporium but it seems they haven't had them in stock for a while now and I cannot for the life of me find anywhere else that sticks them I'm afraid

Ive literally just stumbled on your channel, wow what an amazing layout you have. I especially love the main station with the canopies. Im in the process of representing Manchester Piccadilly in N gauge and definitely don’t come across many layouts building the larger stations. Refreshing to see, so going to watch few more of your vids. Take care, stay safe...
