I started my seed yesterday, August 5th. I have one of those trays and they are great. They work best as you have shown, fine sifted compost or potting mix. None of that chunky stuff. It works better when you are removing the seedlings and the fine stuff sticks together better.
@SalmonCreekLiving8 күн бұрын
Glad to hear you like your trays also! That is a great point you added, the roots definitely can’t hold together well in the clumpy stuff.

I bought the 8” Seesii chainsaw for around $82 dollars and love it. The batteries do have a charge light indicator plus there’s a push button oiler. The batteries are great and last a really long time plus they charge fast. Right now it’s listed for $109 and has a $25 coupon. I was able to cut 100’ of bushes and trees up to 7” diameter fast on one battery. The chain loosened a little but was easy to adjust. Would highly recommend this brand.
@SalmonCreekLiving16 күн бұрын
Yeah I believe they have several models to choose from. I wouldn’t hesitate to try any of them. I’m glad to hear that you are having a good experience with Seesii also! I think this saw will get used often around my place.

Thanks for the review. For $50, that’s a great deal to get the saw, two batteries, and a nice case. I bought a similar Ryobi saw that was $100 and didn’t include anything.

Been using cattle panel trellis for 5 years. Love'em. Mine are not as thought out as yours, well done👍👍. I like puttin our maters,cucumbers and beans on them in summer. They also see sugar peas twice a year . I simply made 3/8 re bar candy canes for ground staking. This way I can move them easy. 100 ft run, dang it somebody's gonna be in the kitchen 😂. Ya'll gonna be proud of that. VERY nice.

I like the low Hisea boots you wear, especially the way they hug the ankles. Only concern is possible lack of arch support--I wear clogs made of stiff rubber-like material. At the price, I might buy Hisea as a second alternative. Glad Hisea sees your potential for marketing . . . no-nonsense, trustworthy!
@SalmonCreekLiving27 күн бұрын
Thank you for the compliment. They really don't add any arch support. The shoes feel almost like you are barefoot because of how thin and lightweight they are. So you may be disappointed if arch support is important.

great review, I think you over explained some areas, and missed some points, but overall, well done. I've bought the system before watching the video, but my solar panels are way bigger ( 2x 100W panels ) and the batteries never gets to 100% charged, we do open our gate 9 - 15 time a day, and over weekends its used maybe 30 times. Your placement of the actuator could lead failure ( as I did mine almost like you did, and the whole reason I got to your video. and totally a Topens install guide issue not yours ) but overall. This is good, well done.
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I did mention in the video about possibly an issue with the lack of solar panels. We only open and close our gate twice per day but I still feel I will need to upgrade the panels, especially when we get into some cloudy, winter conditions. I am interested in hearing more about why you believe the actuator will fail? Did yours fail?
@laddieokelley6095Ай бұрын
When I moved back to the "home" community, these gates had become "the way of the world" . . . whether because of increased thievery or just protective attitude, I don't know. When I grew up we never locked doors or trucks. Glad to see you've lost the brace--be careful about power-lifting. As usual, complete instruction packed into concise video.
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын
Around here locks, gates and cameras are the norm. It is due to so much thievery in this area. You can only do so much to be proactive. Those good ole days you speak of seem to be behind us. Thank you for all the compliments and I am trying hard to take it easy on the knee!!
@mrj-charles6383Ай бұрын
I am looking to put a gate on my property. I live on a dead end road about a mile down. No one comes down this road but still would like a gate. Unless you lived on the road you would not know there is house at the end.😀
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын
I am way off the road myself. Unfortunately for me curious people want to come by from time to time. So a gate ended up being necessary. We manually opened and closed it for years. I must say that this gate opener makes everyday life a little easier!!
@Matt-uj9wlАй бұрын
Gate opener and build looks good! It questionable that the customer wants it there (you can just drive around it in the field), I suppose like most security it just keeps honest people honest. edit: I'm going to send you some dumbbells son! looks like your done worn the other ones out!
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын

You may want to reconsider using treated lumber in your garden. They are treated with toxins that will leach into your soil and then into your food

I didn't notice you mention a backflow valve or pressure regulator? I do like those quick manual timers.
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын
No I don’t run either on this system. My deep well operates close to 50psi consistently, which works good for me. We do not fertilize through this system so I did not see the need for a back flow valve. Our standard anti siphon spigots are good enough for me. Everyone’s situation will be different and all of that could be easily added. I really enjoy those manual timers also! We have a bunch of them
@laddieokelley6095Ай бұрын
Short and to the point, the way I like it. Garden is looking good. What is the white substance on the tomatoes--kaolin clay or Sevin?
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын
Thank You! I have always enjoyed watching short videos so that is what I try to make. That is "diatomaceous earth" on the tomatoes. We had a bad outbreak of Colorado Potato Beetles and they started eating our tomato plants. It took a little time but the diatomaceous earth knocked them out!!
@laddieokelley6095Ай бұрын
@@SalmonCreekLiving Thanks. I keep diatomaceous earth on hand but don't always think of using it in the garden. When possible, I try to avoid toxins.

How do you bypass the injector if you want to use just water
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын
I do not currently have a bypass setup on this system. When I want just water, I unhook the drip hose from the injector and hook it directly to my timer. Only takes 30 seconds or so
@nekoDanАй бұрын
Thanks for the informative video. Did you ever consider having drip emitters on the 1/2” pipe instead of separate spurs of 1/4”? Fewer lines but probably less flexible.
@SalmonCreekLivingАй бұрын
My pleasure! For my beds I had to have the 1/4 pipe to spread the emitters out more. Emitters only on the main 1/2 pipe would not be able to cover my entire bed since they are 4 feet wide

do me a big favor, only kidding, till some hydrated lime into one of your unused compacted garden beds, and see how it is in a month, two, and six. a cheap way to unlock the clay and all those nutrients you've been adding. calcium is the trucker and main thing responsible for the structure of the soil. i gave up raised beds a while ago, when the timber rotted and i got done being boxed in by them, for irrigation or for using tools on soil. now i can raise individual rows of soil for wet/cool season or all same level for summer, as I please, and you can use bigger equipment for your large land. cheers.
