2024. From Ukraine. In this song I hear the spirit of freedom, American society used to have... Values have been changed for money

This is most emphatically NOT a love song. This is a "doing fine without you, Babe" post-divorce kiss-off song.

To me, Kris is the best poet of all time. The way he expresses an idea so precisely it draws a picture and how he juxtaposes opposing ideas is genius. I hear lines from his songs in my head quite often or search for the particular song fragment when trying to understand someone's point of view. What's your opinion on what the line, " he wears yesterday's misfortune like a smile" means? I know people who wear yesterday's misfortune like a blanket or a sword, but a smile.....does that mean he ignores it?

I was the dolly grip on a movie with Kris in Hawaii in 1998. Total legend. Reserved, smart, charismatic. Told us a few stories, one about the time he was dating Barbara Streisand and he informed his great pal Johnny Cash. "You're shittin' in some pretty high cotton there, buddy!" Johnny replied. True. 😂😂

★ Kris Kristofferson sang his song --- “ For the Good Times “ ( 1970 ) Written and sung by the greatest songwriter and singer Kris Kristofferson. What a the greatest genius ! ... What a the miracle ! ♥️🌎👍 . . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kris Kristofferson --- “ For the Good Times “ ( 1968 ) Lyrics . Don't look so sad, i know it's over But life goes on and this old world will keep on turning Let's just be glad we had some time to spend together There's no need o watch the bridges that we're burning Lay your head upon my pillow Hold your warm and tender body close to mine Hear the whisper of the raindrops fallin' soft against the window And make believe you love me one more time For the good times I'll get along, you'll find another And i'll be here if you should find you ever need me Don't say a word about tomorrow or forever There'll be time enough for sadness when you leave me Lay your head upon my pillow Hold your warm and tender body close to mine Hear the whisper of the raindrops fallin' soft against the window And make believe you love me one more time For the good times For the good times . .

Well, I woke up Sunday mornin' With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad So I had one more for dessert Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes And found my cleanest dirty shirt Then I washed my face and combed my hair And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day I'd smoked my mind the night before With cigarettes and songs I'd been pickin' But I lit my first and watched a small kid Playin' with a can that he was kickin' Then I walked across the street And caught the Sunday smell of someone's fryin' chicken And Lord, it took me back to somethin' that I'd lost Somewhere, somehow along the way On a Sunday mornin' sidewalk I'm wishin', Lord, that I was stoned 'Cause there's somethin' in a Sunday That makes a body feel alone And there's nothin' short a' dyin' That's half as lonesome as the sound Of the sleepin' city sidewalk And Sunday mornin' comin' down In the park I saw a daddy With a laughin' little girl that he was swingin' And I stopped beside a Sunday school And listened to the songs they were singin' Then I headed down the street And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin' And it echoed through the canyons Like the disappearin' dreams of yesterday On a Sunday mornin' sidewalk I'm wishin', Lord, that I was stoned 'Cause there's somethin' in a Sunday That makes a body feel alone And there's nothin' short a' dyin' That's half as lonesome as the sound Of the sleepin' city sidewalk And Sunday mornin' comin' down

One of the greatest songwriters of all time. I would have loved done some of his songs, even the one like Please Don’t Tell Me, How The Story Ends, that he Rita and Chris did together. I think the Full Moon Album, should be put on CD, and you could probably make a fortune selling Karaoke tracks, because it would get these songs back out there.
