Monica Seles is the GOAT, and until someone comes along that can achieve at least 8 Grand Slams and 22 titles before they are 20, she will remain the GOAT. Period !

Monica would have dominated Tennis until the William’s sisters arrived, or Hingis. No Doubt! For me personally she was the best Tennis plyer at her peak. And to Steffi… I have just doubtful, I just sympathy..

How is kamala a full blood Indian playing a African?? But they have fake Indians like wahoo, the youngbloods, and c strongbow playing real Indians. Sad. And ino what i said THEY AIN'T REAL INDIANS... but kamala didn't have to accept that gimmick, crime time didn't have to accept that gimmick, the luchas didn't have to accept the gimmicks... booker t should've jumped in hhh chest. We don't have to accept every gimmick that they give you. Pride, dignity and self respect has to be more important.

Monica is, to this day, the most dominant athlete I've ever seen -- including Michael Jordan. She was truly fearsome on the court and the very definition of clutch.

There were so many more chapters to be written for Seles that got taken away from all tennis fans. Graf was incredible, but I always feel her numbers are inflated. I cannot think of another champion anywhere in sports that had their major roadblock to higher success removed by a criminal. No shade on Graf, who was already going to be legendary, but the removal of Seles allowed her to easily dominate the mid 1990's alone, where she would have shared it with Monica.

f Monica Seles had not been stabbed, she would have been at the beginning of a very extended period of domination. It is refused to be recognized by many, but she was truly dominating the field, especially Graf. I think had she not been stabbed, Stefi would have eventually made it even money over time, and we would have seen a great rivalry and something to truly inspire a future generation That's what's lacking in the current model. Everyone (with few exceptions) is a clone of Serena/Sharapova/Capriati...So nearly identical in all but outcomes.

Steffi got to stay in the spotlight for many more years as a dominant player due to Monica’s derailment. Only Serena would have been able to challenge Monica’s records years later if the incident in Hamburg hadn’t occurred.

I watch a lot of historic women's tennis matches on KZfaq. I do this because my granddaughters are competitive tennis players. I knew of Seles but when I started watching her matches I was amazed. She truly was like a steamroller smashing her competition. Nick Bollettieri said he went to see her practice when she was a young teen and could hear her from several courts away. When he saw her power and effort he said it was jaw dropping. He'd never seen anything like it. It wasn't the Williams sisters that revolutionized the WTA into the modern power game, it was the petite hurricane of Monica Seles.

If Monica Seles hadn’t been stabbed she would have dominated until at least the year 2000. Graf would definitely not have 22 and Hingis wouldn’t of had the 1997 season she had.

Seles was an absolutely phenomenal tennis player. Not to diminish Graf's accomplishments, but Seles after just a few short years on the tour had already amassed 8 Singles Grand Slams before her 20th birthday. She even still had 3 more Grand Slams to play in 93 before her 20th birthday, but then the stabbing happened. No one in the Open Era has won that much and that fast from the moment they turned professional until their 20th birthday. Whereas Graf had been on the tour since the early 80's and was sitting at 11 Singles Grand Slams at the moment of the stabbing. Seles was already just 3 away from tying her. Although Graf was still leading their head to head meetings at that time and got 3 wins over Seles in Monica's first year as a professional player, they met in 4 Grand Slam finals before the stabbing with Seles winning 3 of them. Although we will never know now what could have been if the stabbing hadn't happened, one thing is for certain they brought out the best in one another and we were all robbed of a rivalry between the two that could have been similar to Evert and Navratilova.

I am a huge Graf fan.......I didn't know about the stabbing until years later....but now that i watch some of Seles' matches against Graf..... Seles was just on another level at the age she was competing. Graf was already 24 when the stabbing happened ....so Graf would have won a few more Grand Slams but Seles would have given her a run for her money or would have most of the Grand Slams. I would give totally the advantage to Seles just because of her powerful two handed strokes ...... Graf had no answer for that. She would really get frustrated..... 8 Slams by 19 yrs. .....Damn!!!

Graf was never anything but gracious on the court to her opponents, and stayed pretty shy until her final day on the tour. A lot like Sampras. I believe Graf's results are inflated, but she was not the blame for the outcome. I deeply respect both women as great champions. Not so many would know exactly what to do in that situation.

I missed Monica, personally tennis after her wasn’t the same, I completely stopped watching it. One of her signature moves, was the return of the second serve, with her you knew you were done if u messed up the first serve. Lol it was like watching Messi taking a free kick, just awesome. To me one of the biggest what if’s ever in sport.

Crazy thing is I was rooting for Graf at 1992 Wimb final, because Seles was taking so many of the big ones and I instinctively root for the underdog. Who knew what was coming ahead of us? One of the worst events in all of sports history.

Montana & Rice split their votes allowing Elway to win with a plurality. He was more valuable to his team, and he was coming off "The Drive" and a good performance in SBXXi. The league wanted Elway to be the face of the league at that time. It wasn't strictly statistics back then. Emotion and subjectivity played a role. I'm pretty sure Elway could have won SBs with those 49ers teams. I'm not convinced Montana could have dragged those Broncos teams to three SBs in the eighties.
