Rebecca, digital citizenship is such a unique term. Your info graphic helped explain some of your points. How do we as teachers incorporate positive reinforcement for social digital citizenship? How do we limit time on technology but still build importance of participation with every class?

Tommie, that is a great question. I think it would really depend on the teacher and the teacher's style. I think one of the best ways would be to positively praise the students who are following the expectations. In my classroom, I think of digital expectations the same way as I think of my normal classroom expectations. I don't reward my students who follow the rules, as that is what they are expected to do. However, I do verbally praise the students who are following the expectations to acknowledge that I see their good behavior. As for limiting time on technology, I think one of the best ways to implement this is to lead by example and set specific screen time breaks in class. If I feel that I have been sitting too long or looking at the computer for too long, I will have my entire class take a screen break. We frequently go on virtual walks.
