Good video. Moisture will always wick out of the ground, so keep it high off the dirt or grass. Use a plastic barrier. Years ago, My dad bought a new $5k John Deere X320 (Kawi) and kept it outside wrapped up with 3 waterproof tarps on a pea gravel stone patio area. It was covered* with mold and wouldn't start in the spring. I did a body off refurb - clean up, greased every point and it operates way better. Garaged now. I'll aways cherish it. RIP Dad -

Could you possibly make a list of the tools needed? I was watching through hoping you would say what sizes you were using while taking things off.

I have two of them ..an old 1970's model and a 2001...use them all summer ...love that two stroke smell 🙃. It's been said that they were the most efficient engines at converting fuel into smoke and noise ..

Would a bad bearing (or any internal damage for that matter) in the axle disconnect housing cause vibration felt at highway speeds? I have a 2008 trailblazer with a lot of flop when I move around the cv axle where it goes into the axle disconnect....my symptoms are shaking felt at highway speeds...I can really feel it in the front end around 65mph+ and it's not there or I can't feel it anyway at slower speeds...I definitley have a bunch of play though at the cv where it meets the axle disconnect Also was wondering as I live in florida and have absolutley no use for the 4x4 (bought truck up north for snow could I just "delete" the front diff by removing both cv axles and front driveshaft? I heard that the 2wd and 4wd hubs are the exact same so it is ok to do as far as the hub bearings are concerned

Time is the most valuable thing you have. Once it’s wasted, it’s forever gone. You cannot get more of it. The idea of saving a few dollars but having to replace the spark plugs much more often with zero performance game just sounds like a poor call to me.

Death wobble, not happening to my steering, but Transfer case went crunch and grind, last year, when I.put it in 4 high in the the deep snow and stomped on the gas. It began to grind, and I coukd hear the gears grinding But I did not have any ,so called death wobble, until I out in 2 different junk yard transfer cases, last summer. I drove this truck in low range 220 kilometres several times with the original transfer case--- no death wobble! Pulled it,put om junk yard unit 1,it gave me death wobble! So ,hot a second transfer case #2 it gave me death wobble. So this week ,I removed the second #2 junkyard transfer case. I sent my original transfer case in to be rebuilt, hot in on,and not 2 moles fiwn the rd,I get death wobble ftom a dodge ram 1500 sly,4x4 thst didn't give me death wobble, when it was the original transfer case! Spent 1200 to send it away, and I ger it back put in ,and I get death wobble! So,it's raining out back, brought it home, driveway us Mudd, do it went into high range on the rd, low range,on the rd,and I coukd tell the difference, no more grinding and chafing sounds. So in 4x5 mode,I stepped on the gas to make the front axle and tires spin....nothing,no front 4x4,in low or high range. And after spending $ I still get death wobble from a transfer case that was supposedly rebuilt, and had no death wobble before! Sp,what is thr problem?😢

Do you reply to people with questions? I hope so...probably half of the billions of utube shows dont. So my question is, after fixing many of these and never seeing 1 person answer this question...or seeing the answer on these utubes...here it is...why would 1 run only when the top half cover is off...after almost all parts were replaced....no one, I mean no one....ever explains the details of the difference (with it off verses on) or original air pressure (Im guessing) that changes when this happens or MAINLY-WHAT IS THE CAUSE AND HOW TO FIX IT...TEST IT...WITH WHAT TOOL....Hope you reply by knowing the answer ....OR EVEN JUST REPLY IF YOU DONT!!! Thank You!

Somehow everything worked before "constant" tension clamps were invented. Btw, they can go bad too and loose tension. And no, your clamp leaking is not a good thing.

Thanks. Will a batttery maintainer balance out and solve a small parastic draw? After 2 months, of driving just to get groceries 2x/week and then one day I happened to not shut the door while buying groceries, 20 minutes, and then dead batttery. It took a jump to get started. I got a new Battery still under warranty. I then bought a Noco Genius2 2amp maintainer after letting car sit for 1 day, and clamped on maintainer, it went full charge, and then trickle charge this new battery. I clamped it and started car, and it still turned that ignition sound, and started but took like 4 seconds of ignition holding. Usually this slow 4 seconds , but it does ignite, was when I let the car be parked for 4 days. Now I’m confused if I somehow overcharged my battery. Optima battery, Ford Windstar 2001.

You’re spot on about Saturn. I worked in future product development for the General and while there were some genuinely great ideas in their design (space frame, mill and drill panel fixture, “lost styrofoam” engine casting process), the overweight management structure dominated by accountants rather than engineers, assured that the product would fail in the marketplace.

I do pretty much the same as you . Everything gets cleaned and lubed. I also drain the fuel tank and carb bowl (I use ethanol free gas in all of my equipment ) Then I cover it with the form fit cover and put it in my shed on one side so it's out of the way for the mower etc. Great video Doug with great tips . Take care and catch you on your next video.

This explorer is absolutely lovely and tough for sitting a decade. My dad has one of them from the same year that is also a 2 door and it probably has around 400K miles on it by now though the odometer went out a long time ago so we do not know for sure if it really has 400K miles on it but unfortunately it has seen much better days compared to the condition this particular Explorer is in. However, the car still runs and can still be driven today despite the car being worn out. In fact, I am considering driving a car like this when I am old enough to start driving because of how cool it is and how dependable it is. Edit: I also want to mention that I have memories of riding in my dad's explorer as well when I was a younger kid so these really are nostalgia boxes.

Is it normal for the relay to get hot? It’s not like really hot, but it’s more than warm. Could be because I have the ground going to the negative terminal on the battery and I need to do a body ground? Everything else is exactly like what you said.

I have three Kobalt drills. My first one, a Lowe’s employee talked me into about 8 years ago, maybe monger. I bought two more with an additional batter about 4 years ago. I don’t use them daily but they all still work fine, including the batteries! They have held up great and drive a 1/4 in screw easily into a 2 x 8.

Some of the best mowers ever made. I believe they were made by the Johnson Outboard Motor Company at one time. Emissions regulations pretty well killed them. The best ones in my opinion were the 70’s and early 80’s ones with cast aluminum decks. My dad loved these things, he had 23 of them and two sheds full of parts when he passed. Unfortunately most of it went to scrap as Lawn Boy enthusiasts are dying off. Yours I would guess to be a 90’s model.
