Curious how youre running 42 psi, the max is 35 according to the tire. Im about to get these for a ram 1500 because the weight, how are they holding up or should i just het the duratracs again?

@bubbles6107 Goodyear posted a revision on those tires that you can run up to 10psi more than what sidewall states. Tires are doing great. 30k miles on them now and they are about 50% tread. Still riding smooth and quiet.

I appreciate your video and content. Thank you for posting and sharing such a thorough and thoughtful review. I just purchased a 2024 1500 ZR2 with the Duramax 3.0 LZO. Given the owners manual recommends the use of only top-tier diesel and how scarce access to such diesel is not only in my area in California, but also nationally, lam wondering what other Duramax LZO owners use to fuel their trucks.

@Kode-bu1og no issues. The truck runs great, and there is no noticeable difference from the 5W-30 T6 I usually run. I still haven't had an oil change since the video. Unfortunately, I don't drive the truck as much as I used too but I have a few road trips for work planned here in the near future. I'm excited to get the oil tested and see how the results look myself. I'm willing to bet the results will be perfect, but we wont know for sure until the test comes back.

What suspension set up are you running? I have a '21 silverado on a 2.5" leveling kit and im running 285x70R17 but I want to run a 12.5" wide tire. Can i run a 35" tire or should I stick with 33's?

@offbrandpeachrings7778 I would say 35s all day and do the minor trimming needed. I'm in a ICON Stage 2 Kit. Offset for running 35s is key. Stay as close to to 0 offset as possible and no more than -12 offset.

That's the same as as just doing forward to back. Your tires only travel to 2 locations instead of 4.

I purchased mine in the beginning part of May. I was told a couple of weeks before it arrived. It hasn't arrived yet. I picked the same finish that you chose because of the location that it is mounted in. You really won't be able to see it much, and thought it wasn't worth the extra money for the black powder coating. If mounting location was up in the front of the engine somewhere I may have forked over the extra funds for powder coating.

They're running these transmissions too hot again, just like they did the 6L80 and 8L90 in these trucks. GM waited until all the pre-2019 trucks were out of warranty to say "oh hey guys, all those problems with your transmissions? it was because the transmission cooler bypass valve was set to open at too high of a temperature, here's a TSB and a new valve that keeps the transmission 30 to 40 degrees cooler."

Hard to say... never put it on a dynamic so I don't have any factual data to backup any claims. All o know is that everytime I drive another 3.0L it feels like a pig compared to mine. I also get 23ish mpgs traveling fast at around 80mph and low 30s when traveling at 60-65 mph on 35" tires. I'd day the engine is at least happy with the current setup.

I just bought a 2024 Sierra Denali with the 3.0 diesel, I only have 1000 miles on it and the oil is black. I remember the last time I had a diesel the oil would be darker that a gas truck. Is that normal in these trucks for the oil to be black?

Yes, it's normal for diesel. Even when you do a fresh oil change, it will turn black within 100 miles. The soot from diesel fuel is what turns it black.
