They're running these transmissions too hot again, just like they did the 6L80 and 8L90 in these trucks. GM waited until all the pre-2019 trucks were out of warranty to say "oh hey guys, all those problems with your transmissions? it was because the transmission cooler bypass valve was set to open at too high of a temperature, here's a TSB and a new valve that keeps the transmission 30 to 40 degrees cooler."

I agree. And if you work te truck hard it leaves the fluid very little wiggle room before it starts degrading.

i build alot of transmissions and the biggest waste of money is getting a bigger pan its the oil cooler keeping it clean with good airflow

It's the extra fluid capaciry that counts, in my opinion. The mote fluid you have, the harder it is to see a temp spike.

@@automotiveandmore big oil pans are for big coolers they require more fluid so they need more capacity Coolers is where you invest your money

@djtherock7062 yes I agree. That's why I upgraded both.

Since you didnt do a flush just a drain and fill. How many quarts did you use with the new ppe pan?
@automotiveandmore6 ай бұрын
I did everything at once and it took about 11.5 quarts of fluid. If you do just the pan it will be less.

Does the new ppe pan have a magnet inside it?
@automotiveandmore6 ай бұрын
Yes, it has a super powerful magnet on the drain bolt. I compared it to the OEM magnets and ot feels like its literally 10x as powerful, attracting metal. OEM ones are very weak.

Thanks for the tips, its just sad to see an amazing truck with such a cancer from the factory.
