Amazing shots! So many beautiful images you got there. Loved the ones of the sun coming through the trees highlighting some of the bluebells and green leaves. The detail on the dandelion one was stunning with the water droplets. I also liked that the friendly bluebell next to it wasn’t quite in focus stealing its thunder. Loved that you tried to challenge yourself to take more intimate pictures and to really look closely at what’s around instead of just take the obvious yet beautiful compositions. Realllly successful trip and loved watching this. Brighter up my day that’s for sure xxxx

My first visit to your channel, and bizarrely I was drawn in by the title, I used depth of field for the first time 50 years ago and learned about removing unwanted detrites in a shot, I wanted to remove an open mesh fence to get a jaguar in the zoo! It worked, I was intrigued with the results as they take on an almost painting look with the grains and highlights really popping, I presume that a lot of post is used as you don't give your settings or the lens used! However I have subscribed and will be looking,in at your other videos! I would be interested in knowing more about your technique and perhaps suggest that corner captions showing some data on gear or perhaps fade in prior or after the image, so as not to distract! Love the close up work revealing texture, color and grain. Regards David 73
@SimonJerromes
@SimonJerromes 2 ай бұрын
Hi David thank you for your comment I glad you liked the film. Removing an open link fence through depth of field is a fantastic use of this sometimes over looked tool! Regarding the settings list, I tend to put the setting on the images in the gallery at the end of the video as my personal feeling is that putting the settings on on the initial reveal of an image is somewhat distracting. The gallery can be skipped to via the chapters which I’ve started to include In the video description ! It’s a long old learning process this KZfaq lark!!!! The only recent video I didn’t include settings was the Black and white video from a few weeks ago but that was an oversight on my part but the gallery still remains! There not a great deal of post processing going on apart from some contrast adjustment and little technique I’ve been working on with colour removal which just adds a little sauce to the image. I might cover this process in an up and coming video if anyone interested! Thank you once again and I look forward to sharing more with you soon

@@SimonJerromesI would refer you to Henry Turner who does Lake District and one of his recent visits to Scotland with a fellow KZfaqr made me think of you and the Fisherman’s Croft he photographs, I thought I’d love to see you render it with your style, also he gives his data at the end when he shows the shot, it’s at the bottom very unobtrusive, personally I agree about the distraction, however if you showed the photo then faded in the info, so capturing the attention and then slowly revealing the data. Cinematic like! Take a look he’s good! I live in the New Forest now but used to be up North, I keep saying I will do a 4 seasons set or collection of an area that changes like your Honeypot location, either four separate or in a strip, I lived in Sheffield for some years in the 80s 90s and there was an artist Joe Scarborough who did two large paintings of top end of Ecclesal near banner cross, one winter one summer, I always thought he should have done four, but on reflection only a photographer can capture four, like the Rowan Tree mountain Ash it speaks to you! Great work I noticed you had titled one about continuing! There is no doubt, you bring pleasure to many and if it’s the numbers, don’t put pressure on, for inspiration visit Martin Hellborn old guy up in Ilkley watch him and you will know what I mean. Regards David
