My biggest concern with this product or similar would be the cost of replacing the battery once it’s ran its course. Otherwise, it’s a great idea.

Nothing like paying a ton of money for a bike then having brakes howling like crazy. Back in the day we had $200-300 bikes and never had all the howling,rattles and clunks these new bikes have. That should tell you something about the current quality.

My ex's father changed my beach bike to a random mtb/road bike( it has suspention, thin tires) he had lying around his bike shop. It's been 10 years, and it's my main source of transportation, yes, even for cargo. Had to make a few changes and mods and it rides like a dream. 20-28 km/h on average is a great result for me 😊 i do think i have to change the suspention soon. The pipe is getting rusty😢

The right bike is the one you don’t have yet and are going to buy. Please think about all those yt channels, "review" sites and all the actors of the cycling industry, they all need to make a living on your back so pl,ease be unsatisfied with your current bike an buy an ultralight/aero/endurance/gravel/watch ever new bike.

When the battery finally kicks the bucket, you are going to have to replace that black box that also houses the controller. How can you guarantee that this will still be produced in the future? That's the problem I have with these ebike companies. Once the battery needs to be replaced which could be 3 years from now, do you have to ditch the whole bike?

You can potentially just replace the cells in the battery. A bit fiddly though.

@@MrChristiangraham I think it depends on how the batteries were installed. Usually they solder them onto a metal bracket in which case make it impractical to replace the cells. But, if they designed it like a battery operated electronic device, then I can see replacing the cells would be fairly straightforward. The smart thing would be to make the controller separate from the battery and have it connected by an xt60 so you can basically use any aftermarket battery.

I agree. I didn’t think about having to replace a worn out battery when I bought my first eBike. To replace it will cost $299.00 from Lectric. That’s still affordable compared to Trek and other more expensive brands.

I agree with other's critiques, they can adopt more modern designs and contemporary innovations for the front wheel itself. Swytch been around for many years, it's a pre-pandemic innovation. Its also a great gateway d.r.u.g. to get into e-biking!

Unfortunately both you and Swytch fail to mention that it isn't compatible with thru axle bikes, so it doesn't really fit ANY bike. Apparently a thru axle kit is in development.

The amount of pros who don't know what their tire pressure is, or who run it based purely on feeling is amazing. Its probably the most important thing about your bike setup, you need to test and know what is actually fastest.

Yes I would, if it’s affordable. I do currently own an eBike, but I rarely ride it because it spoils me. It’s incredibly fun, but it stinks when I go back to my regular bikes and don’t have the electric boost to fall back on. Perhaps I’ll use my eBike for when I’m injured or am dead tired from a day of cycling and I just want to cruise to the nearest market by bicycle.

No matter the bike/category, I always go tubeless with inserts and as wide as the frame can handle. I am not Racing and nothing beats comfort to get far. 40mm Gravel slicks on my road bike and 2.1 XC Tires on my gravel.

I have to admit, I converted my Niner Air 9 RDO to a drop bar gravel bike and I absolutely love it. It’s not fast, but that’s the riders fault. I m constantly amazed how much I appreciate the suspension fork, but LOOOOVE the tire clearance.
