If lime mortar was used this all hard work would have meant immensely With cement it just became ordinary Although I myself would have credited the masons with their names without doubt Nobody credits the masons these days 😂

This is not dome, why it doesn't collapse under its own weight

I would love to see it practiced with hot mixed mortars instead of the Portland cement.

Impressive how the ring is built into the dome using just brick and mortar. I really like this

This is, or was, commonly done in Mexico also. The major difference seems to be these rohtak domes are shallower than domes seen in Mexico. I live in Mexico and our home has to large cupolas, one round, one square serving as ceilings for two bedrooms. Just gorgeous.

Amazing! But does it withstand earthquakes? Has it been tested for that?
@edl6534 ай бұрын
So if the structure does fail, lets say due to an earthquake, does the entire structure collapse and thereby crushing everything below it? As concrete and brick absorb moisture, there by increasing the weight of the roof, is the roof top seal with tar, paint or other sealing method?

I thank Kakani Associates for sharing this very valuable information. Thank a lot.
Я одного не могу понять, как кирпич не падает, пока они кладут ряд? Ещё понимаю, когда ряд замыкается, но пока кладут, почему он не падает?

I am not an expert but I wonder if this dome could hold the weight of the snow in a harsher winter for example in East Europe? Looks really great and something different, just not sure it is suitable for all climate..

I much appreciated the video! I wish i could enrol in a practical course since i discoverd in the internet the catalan vault construction technique. It would be very effective if the pace of the legends were not so quick for those that doesn't have a good domain on the English language. Congratulations from Brasil. PS: Can you recommend a book well illustrated about this kink of architecture ? Thanks!❤

I've seen videos of these collapsing due to rain. These are not sturdy at all.
That is amazing, I have done bricklaying and have never seen this before.

In my experience, those bricks are relatively light compared to UK bricks, low temperature fired with charcoal or wood. Whatever, I wish I could do that.
