Did the poster ever see Revolutinary Road. It has one of the best performances DiCaprio ever give, is 100 percent an ordinary character and 100 percent naturel. Ever see Titanic. The same. The poster has not seen DiCaprios main filmography.

I never see DiCaprio acting. I see characters he plays dealing with mentle trauma but I never see acting. The poster should watch a film the whole way through and not just the emotional scenes. As for playing ordinery people who the f was Jack Dawnson meant to be.

This video is wrong on so many levels. Clearly he has not seen, or is ignoring DiCaprios filmography. To try and simplify DiCaprios characters as man with gun or criminal is to ignore how different those characters are. You might as well say he only plays characters with two legs. It ignores the vast range of characters he plays.

This analysis didn’t convince me that Ends is understood. All it did was convinced me further that Ends defenders are insufferable condescending pricks who'll say anything to be the center of attention. And I’m not even defending the other sequels, you’re just another hipster douchebag in a long line of hipster douches.

I disagree respectfully regarding the assessment of that 70s show, and that 90s show, given that my mother, born in Kenosha, Wisconsin (close to the fictional setting of the show) in the 70s and she and I thoroughly enjoyed watching both series together through the lens of HER nostalgia for that time period and place as well as my own from the stories she'd told all my life. Both lean in very well to their respective time periods despite varying degrees of chronological inaccuracy while still remaining to be entertaining and the cameos from some of the celebs have been kind of a hoot, tbh.

He did a star wars story, but above all, he has understood how the narrative gears of star wars work to make something different (the father theme so present in the saga, which here focuses on the mothers for example)

The kind nostalgia that thst 90’s show is trying to invoke isn’t for a time period but actually nostalgia for a specific tv show in this case that 70’s show cause a lot it is a long the line of since u liked watching Eric and his friends hang out in his basement or in the pot circle or on the water tower or at the hub well here are there children and their friends doing the exactly same thing for example cause quit a few things that happen in the show are just callbacks to something that happened on that 70’s show also Michael’s first child he had with brook seems to be forgotten about completely cause that child is never seen or even mentioned at all

For me it's the blatant militarism and military glorification combined with the bad plot that makes these movies suck. I just can't with the American exceptionalism anymore.

Some say this show isn't SW. I say, this has to be Star Wars, for the IP to be saved, and to thrive initially. Some say this is too good to be SW. I say, this has to be the golden standard for Star Wars, for the same reasons this has to be Star Wars.

You didn't mention that these movies came out just after 9/11 and, maybe, audiences could be forgiven for wanting and enjoying overstylized depictions of a hero coming to save the day, after trauma such as that. Yes, the first movie was made prior to 9/11 (insert conspiracy theory here) but that doesn't take away from its impeccable timing nonetheless. MJ as played by KD is the ultimate 'girl next door' and will always be my one true love. My one real criticism of your review is that the first movie ended with that Peter Parker vs. Spiderman conflict and his rejection of MJ at the funeral, so such a tension was quite obviously there, albeit right at the conclusion of the first movie. This may have just been part of the sequel bait but it does still provide a tragic conclusion to the first story in the way that some goofy mid-credit sequence could never do and for that, it must be concluded that the tension existed in the first movie.

Hey! Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your content. I worked at Alamo Drafthouse for about three years as a server, and it taught me a lot about target audiences, as well as the way the industry has evolved to what it is now by seeing what kinds of movies actually sell tickets. Keep up the good work, friend! “Is that a…mini kong!?”

Wow, couldn't disagree more. "The movie is rotten to the core", a touch of overkill there wouldn't you say? 😂 First of all, the reshoots weren't written by Ayer, only directed by him. You even showed a screenshot of the Twitter page in which Ayer states that the reshoots were written by Geoff Johns. Also, I'm not sure if you noticed but at one point during the video you said that you have no doubt that the Ayer cut is better, but then towards the end you contradicted yourself by saying that you have no doubt that the Ayer cut ISN'T better than the theatrical version. Talk about inconsistency.. whatever. Editing is the spine of the movie, bad editing can completely destroy a movie. Same thing with music and tone, and obviously the terrible reshoots. the film's score by Steven Price is fantastic btw! I read a lot of pages from Ayer's script and I can safely say that it's definitely better than the theatrical version. It has so much more to it, from character arcs to actual payoffs to things that were establish but went nowhere in the theatrical version. The first and third acts were butchered the most. Btw, many of the scenes in the Snyder cut are the same as the theatrical version and yet, they're much better in Snyder's version. Keep that in mind. Obviously it's all a matter of opinion but I thought that the performances were grate! Even with the so so script. While I agree that the Joker wasn't great, I will say that, most of his performance was left on the cutting room floor. Believe it or not, but all the Joker scenes were either reshot, cut short or entirely, or changed in some way shape or form. All of them, I kid you not. It's still doesn't guarantee anything, but I'm sure that it was at least a much cleaner and passionate performance. I also like the look of the movie. There're so many shots that look straight up like comic panels! The color palette is okay, it's very Ayer. And yes, he does have a style. The costumes are amazing! They showed in the behind the scenes the amount of detail, care, and thought that went to each costume and prop, it blew my mind! I guess you don't remember 2016's Halloween and beyond, and how popular the Harley Quinn cosplay was. You talked about the story and there're too many backstories and not enough focus on the mission, unlike Gunn's film. Yeah, that's the point! There're more then one way to write movies. Ayer's movie is a character driven film, with themes of love and family. While Gunn's movie is much more story driven. Bottom line, I don't know if it's "one of the best comic book movies ever made". But, from what I read and research, I truly believe that Ayer made a solid movie and that's more than enough for me. I think that he's a very talented filmmaker and I actually follow his career ever since Suicide Squad. And no, He doesn't just randomly posts stuff about his cut. He keeps talking about it because people keep asking him about it. I think his cut should be released, I really want to see it! And even if it's bad, Ayer said that he'll have no problem being criticized as long as it's his movie and not some butchered studio version. So there.

I wanted to like this show, I even tried part two and could only muster 6 of the 8 episodes. Its just so painful to watch. Everything is so on the nose it sometimes feels like the punch line is the actor just explaining the joke/message to you. Zero subtlety what so ever. The writing is by far the worst part of the show. This show has so little confidence in its ability to tell a good story it doesn't even bother to make the show 30 minutes instead 22. Or it just has that little to say. I don't even know anymore, I'm just quite literally just in awe of how one could even achieve such mediocrity. Like, you couldn't make a more pleasantly unwatchable show if you tried. Because the show is so desperate to appeal to every target audience it leaves no room for the characters to have any depth or identities of their own. Its as if they think they have to sacrifice an interesting personality for diverse cast but there is absolutely so reason you cant do both. Its also not difficult to make a show that can appeal to both kids and adults but somehow this one cant do that without it feeling uncomfortable or confusing and weird. Rant over. Just kinda disappointed and this wasted potential.

Venom doesn't exist in a vacuum though. There is no venom without Spider-Man literally. And they have completely neutered my man venom, I can't imagine Stan Lee heaven venom call his self a loser. Off the Spider-Man rogues gallery is so intricately attached to Spider-Man himself that there's no way this universe will work. Unless someone gets creative in Sony, (that's a hilarious statement in and of itself,) and create their own independent hero and possibly have that person be the go to hero. Or borrow any of the other thousands of Spider-Men and women out there.
@kevboogie1

There's no way to make a cinematic universe out of the Spider-Man property. Because all they really have is his rogue's gallery. They are actually doing the only thing they can possibly do, which is try to make those historically evil serial killing murderers into anti-heroes. There's another property that is erasing all good and evil, heroes and villains, namely Disney's Star wars. And what we've learned from them is that S@#T is BORING AF!!!

It's impossible to make a cinematic universe around Spider-Man's property. All they have is the rogues gallery. They are doing exactly the only thing they can do which is turn murderous serial killing villains into somewhat anti-heroes, but that formula is terrible. As Disney Star wars is showing us creating shows where there's no clear villain and hero.Everything is just a moral gray area, and that sht is BORING!

As someone that grew up in the 90s, I found "That 70s Show" much more relatable and funny than "That 90s Show". The most glaring example is how well treated Ozzie is. Unless Wisconsin was insanely progressive in the 90s, there is no way a group of boisterous teens and crabby elderly people would put up with the sass, complaining, and whinny attitude Ozzie has. A sad fact of the 90s is that a whinny, narcissistic, openly gay, asian kid would have been constantly ridiculed similar to the way Fez, Jackie, and Eric were in the 70s. Making fun of negative attitudes of the past can be funny if you do it right. Applying today's political correctness and always giving Ozzie the last line made him untouchable and unfunny.

The best thing that ever happened to SW was falling into the hands of a die-hard non-fan. It was only because, for Tony Gilroy, Jedis, lightsabers, droids, Vader, Emperor and everything else are just excuses to sell toys that he was able to focus on the really interesting story underneath: the political articulation against the Empire, the rebels' plans and actions, the loyalties, the personality of each new character. Season 2 may be on its way, but I don't think there will be a season 3 or other series with the same tone as Andor. Hardcore fans are too noisy, and TV shows focused on story rather than visual effects don't seem to cater to mass audiences (not to mention they don't feature cute little droids to buy in toy stores). And one of the best things about Andor: there's nothing even close to John Williams' irritating shrills. Andor's soundtrack is a reward for the ears - so overwhelmed by all the previous wagnerian deliriums.

Funny thing is though the Monarch: Legacy of Monsters show retained both the serious tone and family themed storyline from the Godzilla films that everyone complained about but actually managed to make them work a lot better because they have more time to flesh out all the characters and world building which ironically makes the show arguably better than all the movies in this franchise.
