When life was a lot simpler and beautiful. How we all yearn for those fond memories of the past, when most of our loved ones were still alive.

This music is before my time, but I grew up hearing it because in the late 1980s and 1990s they still played these classics on the radio. I definitely think this music is better than most music today. I mean it has LYRICS. Yes, it's a bit corny but natural.

THIS 💎GEM💎, RECORDED IN LATE 1962 AND RELEASED IN EARLY 1963, BECAME A HIT IN OVER 80 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. IT IS LISTED AT #9 FOR HAVING THE MOST PLAYS ON THE RADIO AND TV IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE RECORDING INDUSTRY DURING THE LAST 100 YEARS, MAKING IT THE GREATEST "ONE HIT WONDER" RECORDING OF ALL TIME, AS THE CASCADES UNFORTUNATELY COULD NEVER REPEAT THE SUCCESS THEY ENJOYED WITH THIS IMMORTAL RECORDING. THE BEST COVER VERSION OF THIS SONG WAS RECORDED BY JOHNNY TILLOTSON IN 1963, AND IS ON THE JOHNNY TILLOTSON channel. COINCIDENTALLY, THE LAST VIDEO I WATCHED BEFORE I CAME HERE WAS A "SHORT" VIDEO OF A SCENE IN JAPAN WHERE A LARGE GROUP OF DEER THAT FREELY ROAM IN A LARGE PARK IN A CITY ARE SEEN HUNKERING UNDER THE OVERHANGING EXTENDED PROTECTIVE ROOF OF A BUILDING, ALONG WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE MIXED IN AMONG THE DEER WHO ARE ALL WAITING FOR A RAINSTORM TO END. IT'S A VERY CHARMING SCENE.😊 GOOGLE: "Pendant un orage au Japon" on the VirginieHilssonelevy channel.😊 THE CASCADES, ORIGINATED IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, AND I WAS STATIONED AT THE U.S. NAVY BASE THERE IN 1963 WHEN THIS RECORDING WAS PEAKING ON THE RADIO CHARTS. THE LEADER OF THE CASCADES WHO WROTE THE SONG WAS ALSO IN THE NAVY IN SAN DIEGO, AND WROTE THE SONG AFTER HE LEFT THE NAVAL SERVICE. HE WAS WITH ANOTHER GROUP AT THE TIME HE WAS FOUNDING THE CASCADES, WHICH BECAME THE NAME FOR THE NEW GROUP WHEN THE FOUNDER NOTICED A BOX OF "CASCADE" LAUNDRY DETERGENT SITTING ATOP A WASHING MACHINE, AND IT HIT HIM THAT IT WOULD BE A "CATCHY" NAME FOR THE GROUP TO PLURALIZE THE NAME AND BECOME "THE CASCADES."😊 From a 78 year old admirer of the CASCADES, born and raised in Dallas, Texas.😊

Spring Texas checking in, howdy y'all in 2024. I remember when this song came out. I lost my heart also, to a girl that left for the big lights & the lure of big money. She found it, made a million dollars, then lost it all later in life. Now, it is starting to rain here in southeast Texas. I'm going to replay the song and think of that young beautiful girl from 50 years ago. Seems like yesterday we were laughing having great times. At least I have the memories. God bless everybody. Yippie ki-yay!

We're doomed brother. Wish God could care how much tears of sorrow we carry being having our existence to be set in this shameless immoral world where people spit on the truth and call evil good.

71 high school graduate - I am guessing, but probably 70% of the boys and 80% of the girls were virgins when graduated. I was not one of them, but nothing like the world of today. I have not watched tv or read a paper in 35 years. I am not an old fogie, but the world we live in today is not how the world is supposed to operate, or be.
