The humour of the show changed a lot after Season 5, as well as how it was shot if I am not wrong. There are parts of Season 8 that are funny even the Police brutality stuff. I mean opposing unions? *BASED!* Also the show does come from a lefty-angle, Stop, Question and Frisk reduced shootings which was the point of it. A data-based approach to Policing does tend to impact minority communities because that generally speaking is where criminals and victims are found unfortunately.

Another great video to a very special line in the movie. Scares means living. Try and error, experience and of course sacrificing. Like the face of a old person without wrinkles. Do you already read „Adjustment Day“. In Germany the book got a really small but Special Publisher, so only a few readers know it. It is a really difficult book, but also fascinating. What do you think about it?

The weirdest “woke” episode of the show was the sexual assault one. Firstly, there’s is no self awareness about the fact that main characters like Gina and Hitchcock sexually harass people yet face almost no consequences. The episode’s message is also bizarre, they pretend as if sexual assault isn’t taken seriously by society. Sexual assault is taken very seriously, I almost laughed when the victim was forced to quit even though there was evidence against the culprit. There was also a line that really bugged me. Because there wasn’t any evidence of the assault at first, the victim said something like, “They won’t convict him because it’s a ‘he-said, she-said’ scenario, the system is broken.” Excuse me, but to me that isn’t an example of the system failing. If it’s only one person’s word against another’s without any other pieces of evidence, I see no reason why the accused person should be convicted. And of course there is no subtlety at all in the episode, but that goes without saying. It’s not season 8 episode, but it felt like one.

Had to look it up to see if other people made the european fascism connection.. particularly the Russian experience (but the soap being an obvious reference to another group). All this time, I thought this was a surface level assault on consumerism, but that's just a small piece. The shattering of a belief system, visiting self help groups, lost, looking for a new meaning. The nihilism and anarchism. I wouldn't be surprised if the author was well versed in Russian literature, mid 1800s and on.. or Hoffer's True Believer. Need to read the book now.

I think the "You are going to die" could also mean "After today, the old Raymond is dead, Raymond will be reborn as an ambitious person". I thing Tyler also told him that he's going to teach him a lesson, while reminding him of his mortality.
@Outrack
@Outrack 4 күн бұрын
Kindly remember that Tyler is the product of a fictional sleep-deprived schizophrenic and a supposedly anti-capitalist author with a net value of over $12 million who tried to extend the franchise into video games and comics. I love the film, but feel that so much of the abundant hypocrisy is glossed over because hate is cheap and resentment requires no effort. There's comfort for every blue-collar worker and under-achiever in deflecting responsibility and passing the blame of your life's circumstances onto a faceless societal elite who have no actual bearing on your day-by-day choices, in this free-market economy which allows you the freedom to make all of your own commercial decisions.

No fight club isn’t ideological it’s psychological. You talk about Tyler like he’s real but Tyler isn’t real at all. It’s only the narrator there is no cool clothes or any of that it’s just what you see the narrator in, it’s just that the actions the narrator does is so captivating that it drives people to want to join him.

The sense of community. To the right and left you keep trying to create a schism. But we need to just try and understand each other and let go of what truly doesn't matter. But you want to be part of a cult that believes one way or the other then you are depriving yourself of a full life. Don't see religion, don't see political ideology, don't see all the divisions. We are all alone on this blue rock. Alone from the universe. But right here right now we do have each other.
