Lots of problems with Quad 4 engines. They eventually worked some of them out, but I saw a lot of them in repair shops.
@GalaxieMarauder16 сағат бұрын
What issues did they have?
@RetirednbrokeinPa15 сағат бұрын
Cracked heads, blown head gaskets, timing chain and chain guide and tensioner issues. The early ones were the worst. I had an ‘01 Grand Am with one of them and drove it 180,000 miles or so with absolutely no engine issues. It was a tuned down version of the originals. It didn’t burn a drop of oil either. I used Mobil 1 synthetic oil in it.

Both cars are really nice, I do like the 74' a little more, but that 76' with the T-tops is something you don't see everyday, what a nice looking car, very nice interior, glad to see people recognizing these once forgotten cars as classics nowadays!
@GalaxieMarauder21 сағат бұрын
@@Inspector-71 thats my goal! To show the other vehicles of the past that we had. I agree with the TTops are an awesome feature but 74 has real Sunrise Highway cruiser potential. My ex brother in law had two of these but a hard top, bought it brand new, the first one there was something wrong with it after only a week or so, so he brought it back and replaced it with a red one, not a bad car but the interiors still had all that shared GM look, so you sit inside and you can see the same type of parts that you'd see in a Cavelier or Grand Am.

Hardly beautiful but certainly interesting cmon it's pretty much a Javelin
@GalaxieMarauder21 сағат бұрын
@@Karan-pl5ko of course it is a Jevelin base but so what? GM used the Nova suspension to underpin the Camaro. Ford used the Falcon to underpin the Mustang. And the Valiant was used as a parts car for the Barracuda/Challenger. So AMC not having a huge budget would normally share components. Its a Javelin on a shortened wheelbase.

14 second quarter. Wonder what it did 0-60. Owner said "it won every race". Not sure what series, but it would be interesting to experience the handling. Depending on the transmission (looked like a stick) and the stock suspension parts, it might be fun to play with the shocks, wheels, and tires, like some low profile wider width. Then corner with it.
