im trying to make a animation where pics are to be seen but when i paste an image it creates a new layer and i only want that image to be in one specific keyframe, im really confused on how i can remove that layer. Probably because i copy and pasted it
@animationstationm21 күн бұрын
You have to import them using the “import animation frames” selection. This will allow you to import your pictures in order and auto cream frames for them. I will do a video on it sometime. It’s very useful.

What of using enclose fill tool? I think it might have been a faster process here. Just outline and it fills the hand in grey. That tool seems like a more advanced colorize. It has close gap options, it fills stuff in areas and leaves outside transparent. It doesn't seem to leave the white artifacts on edges. Actually looking closer how that works it might be good to set grow to -1 cause it starts filling in from the edges of the outlines, so if there is anti alias going on it can fill the transparent areas creating an artifact outline. Ah, then again, it's a bit different, it's about enclosing areas. So perhaps more complicated stuff mask might work better. I don't really use either so I wouldn't know the details.
@animationstationm24 күн бұрын
@@Utrilus the regular fill tool doesn't fill tight enough. Hopefully Krita will fix that eventually. I use the colorized mask because the fill has no exposed pixels around the edge of the drawing. At the end of the day it will look better when you rendering the animation if you use the colorized mask.
@Utrilus24 күн бұрын
@@animationstationm I was referring to the *enclose and fill* tool, not the regular *fill* tool. Also in tool options the regular fill tool can be set to *grow* fill by 1 or 2 pixels to fix the not tight enough issue. And for enclosed fill it can be reduced by 1 or 2 to counteract the opposite issue of fill almost spilling out of the lineart, when the lines are anti-aliased.
@animationstationm24 күн бұрын
@@Utrilus That is so cool. I don't think I've tried that. If it works I'll do a video on it. Thank you Utrilus!
@animationstationm24 күн бұрын
@@Utrilus Just tried it, Honestly the "grow fill by 1 and 2" is more then enough to save tons of time - I will be using that going forward. Thanks!
@Utrilus24 күн бұрын
@@animationstationm The weakness of the fill tool in the current version of krita is that it has no close gap option. I'm using an 5.3 alpha built from github which has close gap on the fill and selection tools as well. So hopefully when the next version comes out all of these tools have close gap.

@animationstationmАй бұрын
@@Neptune.Imagine they don't need to be perfect but the overall motion needs to make sense. Remember, we are just drawing a bunch of pictures and it only becomes animation when you combine them all together. More drawings will slow the motion down, less frames will speed the animation up. Hope tha helps.

I'm a true believer that you can use any software that you think is best. Creating animation just takes time and dedication. The big difference is that Adobe Animate has a subscription fee, but I used to use the old Adobe CS3 software a long time ago and it was great. i am skipping some frames while scrubing in timeline. is it krita issue or just mine ?
@animationstationm5 ай бұрын
Sounds like more of a computer issue. My computer uses 32Gigs DDR4 ram. You need something more powerful and you also need to change your Krita settings. See this video for animation set up. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f-CBac2cqrTcfqs.html I would say your computer needs a minimum of 8gig of Ram DDR4 or 5. DDR3 will work as well. Min CPU for Krita is a Intel core 2 and 4gigs of ram but this is only if you are creating Art. I find my Krita didn't work well for animation until I upgraded my ram and cpu. I think the issue may be with the computer or the settings. Watch the video in the link above and mimic those settings for best performance.

If I'm understanding corrently, I need to make a colorize mask, convert it back to paint layer then add another colorize mask to repeat the process? Not to mention I'll need to be careful to add the frames in the desired spots before merging them. There must be a quicker way to use the masking method, can't it be used in the timeline? Plus there are quicker methods with the bucket tool it's just that they don't let you fill in for its own layer.
@animationstationm5 ай бұрын
Yup. I have a video coming this weekend (hopefully, if I can finish it in time) I will show you how to implement the colourized mask in a animation situation so more understand how I use it on a grand scale.
