i've seen some vids of guys just getting some more high quality steering head bearings and it supposedly really helps with the wobble

Hattie is precious. I don't like walmart, but I won't shop target and I absolutely didn't wear a mask. I want to go visit Alabama.

Ok. I gotta comment on the topic of hitting stuff too. I was doing 80mph in the left land in the middle of the night and hit a 8’ plastic bed liner. I hit it on the front of the bed side with the front tire. It nailed my foot and kicked it down into 4th it wobbled like crazy. I thought to myself “this is it” but it stabilized, I continued my journey.

Yup! It doesnt stop with the pegs kids. The frame hits too. The bolts on the left side are ground half way through. We will see how long till my peg falls off. 😅

Mine is a 2015. 38k miles. I have just accepted the wobble. The tire thing only works for a little while. Oh well…

Anyone that hasn’t read the book should. One takeaway from the book is that Aaron had been through a lot of situations where something bad could have happened, but didn’t. The one that got him was this pretty mellow day run through a fairly easy canyon and then this freak accident happened.

One thing you can count on in AL is most everyone is conservative when it comes to law enforcement, immigration, schools, churches, and everything else.

Not everyone in Alabama own guns. A large number might, but they are more often the hunters or police officers, but not exclusively. There are some who don't like guns, but some are pro-second amendment regardless while others are very much in favor of gun control.

On what qualifies for sweater weather, it depends on the person. A thicker person or a menopausal woman might be fine with weather as low as 40-something degrees. Men also seem to be able to tolerate cooler temperatures more than women in many cases.

The claim we marry our cousins isn't completely made up, I know of some of this happening in generations long passed (like my great great grandparents in one branch who were half-second cousins through the same great grandfather but different great grandmothers), but today it is not acceptable, even illegal. I have been meaning to check if this was a more common thing everywhere (not just the South) more than 100 years ago or if it was a more Southern thing. I'm more likely to expect the former.

Most religious? I'd say a lot of Alabamians might identify as Christians, but might rarely ever go to church outside of holidays or even at all or they might not show it so much in their morals, although it does seem like it is a lot more acceptable down here, though not always.

On conservativism, Alabama is one of the most conservative states, but is seems like Mississippi might be more conservative in ways and Florida in other ways. It does seem like the younger you are, the more liberal you are, and many people seem to get more conservative as they get older, but I have seen it happen the opposite way as well (not as frequently).

On football, there are some many football fans, both men and women, but there are some (myself included) who are just not that interested. With the football fans, there seems to be a lot more Alabama fans, and it seems like most Auburn fans went to Auburn or have family who went to Auburn.

On people going to Walmart, a lot of people go to Walmart, but there are also people who are dead set against Walmart for some reason or another, and it isn't usually political. Some don't go because they don't like businesses that seem to kill competition, but many of the same people like to go to Target like Target is somehow not guilty of the same stuff. Target is just basically the more expensive, more liberal Walmart (or Kmart; they look like a Kmart knockoff).

On accents, everyone has an accent. I used to think I had no or very little of an accent, but I have become a lot more aware of my accent, and it is Southern! Maybe my Southern accent has become more pronounced over time, or maybe I've become more aware of it. My accent does seem to change in intensity depending on who I'm talking to or what I'm talking about. Anyway, it depends on where in Alabama you live and how old you are. The younger Alabamians might have less prominant or different accents, but that really depends as I know Gen. Zers with noticable Southern accents. I have family with strong country accents that I have not seen ever replicated on tv and I have seen some Southern accents that might sound similar to those on Kendrick Brothers movies, but not so much in the movies with people using fake Southern accents. Those accents are usually from other parts of the South or from generations long passed that have either died out or only have a few representatives (like Kay Ivey for example).

On the racism angle, I see more of it from the older generation, and it is mostly about dating and intermarrying. Most have no qualms with making friends with people of other ethnicities or nationalities. There are some who are more full-blown racists, but not near as many.

I lived in Germany for three years, studied German in college, and now I teach German. And I just want to say how much I appreciated your review. I agree that they are very orderly and love their Vorschriften. However, Germans do not know how to stand in line and IF you are standing in line and not paying attention, they will cut in front of you.

Bruh, what you said about the death wobble. I had a 2020 R3 and same exact issue..right around 45mph. Dealer thought it was the forks not being stiff enough or the rear shock being too soft. I said well I want new tires anyway. Ordered some new Pirelli tires and the had them installed. The issue was completely gone. They were OEM Michelin.
