Aww thank you. Yeah and using uniquely Australian ingredients is something not seen very often I think. I love using Golden Syrup and vegemite but I couldnt believe the taste when I decided to put it in my braised steak and onions recipe years ago. Its very tasty. Cheers and thanks for the compliments.

Excited about the thought of your new ovens too mate, especially if you do a 14”. Hope you & Martina have a great stay in the Country Music Capital mate. Cheers🍻🤝

Will start using charcoal for cooking on by fire and then wood for the ambience afterwards. The smaller bag at the same price is called shrinkflation.

Hi King,only a few days ago I asked if you would do some camp cooking while in your van. What a ripping result . My son , (45 years old) has taken a newfound interest in camp oven cooking at home. This recipe is relatively simple, and the result looks healthy and delicious,so ill get him to watch this clip. Thanks,regards Grant

Have you ever tried the fatwood fire lighters? It is pine wood that has alot of the resin. Burns great, starts the fire better, I think. You can get it from the same shed and at about $14 for a bag it is not bad.

Hi King,just caught up with this clip. Im very pleased for you getting a new toy. Like you im tending towards cast aluminium oven's. Weight is a major consideration for me. I have several cast ironl ovens, most are cheap BCF types. A couple of no name ovens,one has very poor casting,but cooks great. I guess it came from a very second class Chines foundry ?? One so called quality oven,a 15 inch 1991 Furphy. This oven was used for many primary school camps on the banks of the Billabong creek in the southern Riverina. From memory the big lamb roasts were cooked in this and the vegies separately. Wonderful times,With all our "political correct" bullshit this out door living would be not allowed these days. Can you please do some videos on your cooking while camping in your van. Best wishes Grant
@campovenking9 күн бұрын
Thanks for the follow mate. Yeah that 15 inch Furphy of yours is worth between 800 and 1200 bucks. So look after it 😀Hopefully do some cooking videos with my van soon. Im in it right now actually, heading to Tamworth for some cooking demos.Cheers

It's a good thing he put "4 cups" of flour in because he threw at least 1 cup out while mixing it. 😁😂🤣😂 Great content. The damper looks great. 👍

Try, fill rolled pork with tin peaches, and garlic. Throw some in the bottom. When cooked, take roast out and add red wine and reduce. There's your gravy.

Bloody Beautiful Mate. HEY IM amazed with those racks holding up all your camp ovens.Yes I've cooked many meals in cast iron ovens.What do you think of the Bedourie?I've noticed you used one as a mixing pot for your Damper vids.Its the only Australian made camp oven I own.thks for the tip on Chinese models. Thanks mate.
@campovenkingАй бұрын
Thanks for following mate. Yeah I'm really not a fan of Bedouries, too much maintenance and they just don't look like a cooking pot. I'm a self admitted snob though. And I do own and can use one but as far as being a lighter option I'd rather a cast alloy oven any day. They are easier to use, have zero maintenance a d are a dream to cook with and clean. Cheers
