Why would Jesus tell the woman at the well to "go and sin no more" if it were not possible to remove sin from your life? To say that we have no sin is to say that we have never sinned.. It isn't talking about being free from sin. We CAN say that we are free from continuing in sin! Calvanism is another pox upon Christianity.

But... if God ordains everything including who is and is not saved... then how do I choose to sin or not sin?

The true meaning of Repentance in the Greek is (Metanoia) "A CHANGE OF MIND" turning from sin, from unbelief to belief. It may surprise many Christians to learn that the phrase “Repent of your sins “or “Repent from your sins “is not found anywhere in the bible! Nowhere in the Bible does it say repent of your sins to be saved. Repent [change your inner self-your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God's purpose for your life], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Repentance is a change of mind about who Jesus is, what He has done for you. That change of mind that you have will lead to a change of action that leads to a Godly sorrow to salvation. 2 Corinthians 7:10 -John the Baptist calls for the people to REPENT indicated that they needed to change their minds. From Jesus’s own preaching of that SAME message (e.g. Matthew 4:17), Jesus makes it clear that the people needed to change their minds about how a person becomes part of the kingdom. Their self-perceived righteousness was not enough-their heritage and works were not what God required. To make the need clear, John and Jesus both proclaimed that the people needed to “REPENT”, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”, or has come near” the people truly needed to “REPENT” (change their minds about how they could enter the kingdom). A repentant heart does not want to live a wicked life anymore. It has new desires, and it goes in a different direction it turns from sin. (Acts 3:19) “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Jonah 3:10 proves that turning away from evil ways is work, “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.” Repenting of Sin is a WORK! And does not save you (Ephesians 2:8-9) Tell us it’s not of works that saves us BUT Salvation is by trust in God's free Grace through faith in Jesus Christ, Faith alone Christ alone = SALVATION. We cannot stop sinning Paul's struggle with the flesh (Romans 7) tells us about his struggle with the Old Man (the Flesh) versus the New Man (the Holy Spirit) which Christian’s battle with each day. We as Christians have a choice each day to walk in the flesh or the Spirit, if in the flesh than God will discipline us and the loss of rewards in Heaven may apply, BUT our salvation is secure! Christians sin each day even when they do not know they are or they intended to, if only one sin committed than we fall with all the commandments. (James 2:10) The Apostle Paul describes in Romans 7 regarding his struggle with the flesh and describes himself as a wretched Man (Romans 7:24) Our choice to walk in the flesh or the Spirit, the old Man versus the new Man BUT when we do sin, we repent (a change of mind) is needed to turn away from committing the same sin repeatedly. A Godly sorrow (I’m sorry) a grieving of the Holy Spirit a sadness and indeed a guiltiness towards God is deeply felt BUT Christ’s Grace is sufficient for us (Romans 5:20). Remember our sins are already forgiven at the cross past, present and future God now sees us through the blood of Jesus, we are as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18) and his righteousness is ours a one-time event. When we sin REPENT = (Metanoia) = A change of mind towards SIN. It is very clear in the Gospel of John that it is God’s will FOR US that we BELIEVE! John 6:28, 6:40, Jesus spoke to his disciples indicating the struggle with the flesh “The Spirit is willing, but the body is weak” Matt 26:41, Spiritual eagerness is often accompanied by carnal weakness -a danger amply experienced even by us today. “And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,” Romans 4:5, “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance (change of mind, Metanoia) toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20-21

@@caleschnell Correct spelling is Arminianism or Arminius. Study the Gospel of John carefully and see the message of free grace and our free will to Believe or Acts 16:30-31 “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

@@Robbie-vu6pl There's no such thing as merely noetically proclaiming a belief in Christ that your sins are some how magically covered. No, no. One must have a contriteness of hearts from godly sorrow and from that godly sorrow there is a clearing away of wrongdoing. “8¶For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a while. 9Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. 10For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 11For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.” True repentance is a godly sorrow within that produces contriteness of heart to be cleared of sin, a reverent fear of God, and a vehement desire to do what is right. There's clearly more than a mental assent to the truth. By conviction of the Holy Spirit, there is to be a clearing away of sin and a vehement desire to do that which is right. We must come before the Lord in humility for this to truly happen though as God does not give grace to the proud as they are not repentant. You free gracers are deceived with a false gospel that does not teach true repentance unto salvation. We are to have a faithfulness unto God that works by love and purifies the soul. You do not preach nor teach such a message but you preach a message that tells men and women that they can walk according to their own lusts even after coming to a knowledge of the truth as you do not again teach true repentance. True righteousness by faith that works by love does not walk in iniquity but truly confesses and forsakes it. Grace is the divine influence of God upon the heart to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Do not invert the grace of God to promote lasciviousness which leads unto death. “3¶Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:23-24 Btw, I do not care for your isms so do not think I will conform to your perverted ideas of the truth.

@@caleschnell Like you I do not follow ism's, I'm just correcting your spelling, I do not claim to follow Arminianism. Anyway you need to understand scripture that you are quoting correctly in my view that being "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation" 2 Corinthians 7-10 refers to the all ready saved believers, Paul is dealing with the church regarding a certain sin in that church in which he wants the church to deal with that person and turn away from that particular sinful behaviour and show true sorrow that will save him (church) from chastisement from God...The point here is the church of SAVED BELIEVERS ARE BRING Fleshly but need to be repent ( Metanoia) to be sorrowful that leads to salvation from chastisement from God. Why would Paul be saying "to Salvation" when they are already saved!! Romans 4:5 “And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,” Romans 4:5 I gather your a SDA by your videos on your web page? Ellen White is a false prophet and of false prophecy based on works to get to heaven and her writings are not inspired by the Holy spirit and SDA does not believe on the finish work of the cross John 19:30 but adds worshiping on Saturday as a plus to the finished work of the cross to get to heaven works based Salvation, BTW I will not conform to your perverted ideas of the truth, the reason free Grace believers are so disliked is because we believe in the simple truth of Grace and free will to believe and trust in Jesus Christ without the bondage or yoke of the Law and with out any added works of righteousness

There are only two extremes at the moment and both make movies almost unwatchable: They are either too desaturated or use the dreaded ORANGE AND TEAL color grading. Everything looks like orange puke and actors have completely orange faces. How does this not cause mass protests??? Does anyone even notice that crap? Look at Shia in Terminator. HIs face looks completely oversaturated. Please red the article ORANGE AND TEAL - HOLLYWOOS PLEASE STOP THIS MADNESS. It describes that trend very well. Movies just look all the same today with the same color palette. They also oversuse filters so that in combiantion with the color grading everything looks fake. Take a look at Argylle. The whole environment looks artificial and even the actors look fake. You can't see any skin texture at all. Absolutely dreadful garbage.

A short testimony here, I walked into a lions choice on a bright sunny day to get lunch, and the women behind the counter I had noticed has some thunder thighs, and I immediately felt the need to repent due to the lusting nature, so I walked out to my car and began to pray and ask for forgiveness and out of nowhere on my sunroof started getting blasted with water, I jumped out of my car in fear looked up to the sky and saw nothing but blue sky and the sun, I then looked back at the car and touched the water to verify I wasn't losing my mind and sure enough it was clearly wet. From that point on, I understood clearly that true conviction from the sin nature will bring supernatural confirmations that your pleasing the Lord. He is wonderful and I'm forever grateful.

Is the purpose of the Christian life to stop sinning or to get all the sin out of your life?
@_Jesus__is__King1

It's to glorify God. That means choosing God over sin & defeating sin with His power working in you. When you truly repent & are truly born again, sin becomes very painful. It's not to say you will not sin, but when it happens you will immediately feel it, repent, & with God's help....destroy it. Part of what Jesus meant when He said to take up His cross is that you'll have to persevere through a life of temptation (evil) that is absolutely relentless. You'll live in a world surrounded by evil & you will not survive it without God & the salvation offered through our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

@@_Jesus__is__King1 Didnt Jesus die for all sins? Of course someone who has become born again should experience a reduction of sin in there lives. The moment a person is born again they are sanctified (set apart) declared righteous because of the blood of Christ. By his resurrection we to have become resurrected from spiritual death. I think the reduction of sin in a believers life is a byproduct of being born again and receiving his spirt. So my focus isnt trying to weed all the sin out of my life.. My understanding of the Christian life is getting to know my God. Its deeper than a cycle of repentance and obedience because we have been set free from law keeping. Because Christ forgave all sin, sin no longer separates us from God.

I was at a mens conference where Albert Tate spoke. He used this illustration of a guy who had a large pet snake that he let have free roam around his house. This snake would lay in his bed with him too. The snake started laying straight out and did this repeatedly. So the guy called his vet and the vet stated 'you need to get away from the snake, its sizing itself up to you to try to eat you". The point being, dont lay down with something that is trying to kill you.

He is absolutely correct. In my young men's ministry that I started a few months ago, I still held on to some sins from my previous life. And it about unraveled the young men's group. However, when I started to have accountability partners, confessing my sin both to God and to those around me, the ministry has gotten deeper and I just overall feel a lot better. That sin was in fact pornographic material and watching horrible movies. And gluttony. I still battle every day, but I know now that I have God, His Word, and brothers by my side every step of the way. Praise God!

what brother Paul Washer is saying is absolutely right. Proverbs 23:7 Jesus said whatsoever a man thinketh so is he. We are not even supposed to entertain sinful thoughts in our mind. Alot of people think that sin has to do with just committing the actual act if sin but its deeper than this we are not to even entertain sinful thoughts in our mind. thoughts such as lust, perverted thoughts, sexual immoral thoughts, twisted thoughts and more. keep your mind pure ! ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help you purify your mind and run from thoughts of sin. Also, the purification of the mind allows us to be more receptive to hearing the voice of God and helps us to live a more fearless life also lighter on our feet because were not weighed down by the entertainment of sinful thoughts.
