Although the spiritual formation process at Lipscomb involves many aspects, the chapel program provides multiple opportunities for students to grow closer to God and one another on a weekly basis. Each student is required to accrue 30 chapel credits per semester.* (A minimum of 25 of these credits must be gained by attending T/TR chapel assemblies.) These credits can be obtained through a variety of ways.
Every Tuesday, the entire Lipscomb Community meets in the Allen Arena at 10:55 am for The Gathering. The Gathering is a campus wide worship experience that provides a valuable opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to worship God, be challenged by dynamic speakers, and enjoy the fellowship of a Christian community.

My friend sent me a video of Mr. Don Miller. This computer, for some reason, won't show video's from Facebook. So I had to go to you tube to find it. I didn't find that one, but I did find this one. (The Lord made me look for it.) The adventure in the trip and the amount of knowledge gained from that trip was my story-line to a new chapter in my life. I thought I was nearing the end of my personal story. There was only one last thing to do on my bucket list. That is to take a cruise. I used to be out-going, to a point of annoying. No one could ever understand why I was so excited about 'Everything' that went on around me. Most of those exciting moments I created myself. Over the years I mellowed, to a point of being so bored I can't look at myself in the mirror. I watched this video and realized something: Since I was 7 I had all these dreams and aspirations of only a handful of life's accomplishments: My first being a cruise. I seen the 1st Titanic movie and I was hooked. Yeah, I know.....It sank and many people died. But what "I" saw was the experience of the cruise itself. My second was learning everything I could about our LORD. I was even studying to be an evangelist. The problem with that was, I apparently was doing it in the wrong church. I had to many questions that the teacher could not answer, and since it was being done in front of other's, I was asked to drop out because I didn't see things 'their' way. When I said, "I thought it was suppose to be the Lord's will and way. What do you have to do with that?" I got no answer, just asked to leave. That's when I realized I was in the wrong place at the wrong time in my life. The third was to care for my mother who had melanoma cancer over her entire body. Tumors the size of softballs on her shoulder that would have to cleaned with peroxide 15 times a day. Watch her vomit up blood until she was so weak she would pass out. She lasted 5 years like that just so I could grow up to take care of my younger brother and sister when she went home to God (I was 15 when she died). She told God that she didn't care how much she had to suffer, just keep her around long enough for me to take over. The night she died JESUS came to me in a descending warm light and told me he had taken her home to be with him and his Father and that she was not in pain anymore. I said to him, "Thank You Lord." When my father came home from the hospital at 4 am and I told him I knew. He asked me how and I told him about Jesus coming to me. Which leads me to number 4. Being a mother. That I did with gusto. I had 3 girls and 2 boys between 1969 and 1977. I helped my Dad raise my brother and sister first. I left home at 18, went to work, and met my husband. He was 9 years older than me. I don't think I could of been married to anyone younger. My mind was that of an older person by then. We were together 32 years and married for 31. He died of congestive heart failure in 2000. I had also cared for him and seen him through heart surgery and cancer twice. Then I concentrated on my grandchildren (which is 9). They have blessed me with 3 great grandchildren, the oldest being 7. My mother never got this opportunity. So I'm busting at the seams for her to. To get back to my story line: After watching this video I realized something. "Now it is MY turn. With my bucket list being almost complete, I can take myself back to that young girl with all that energy and enthusiasm for life because the LORD is in my corner and put it on a cruise ship with 3000 people on board that can't get away from me. The excitement in my whole body is almost more than I can contain. My youngest daughter, 37, who is a cancer survivor but can never have children of her own (and only been married 1 year tomorrow) will be going with me as my caregiver (you see, I also have congestive heart failure, peripheral artery disease and suffer from grand mol seizures (under control with med's). But life is not over for me. Now I can take my excitement for The Lord and Life and spread it around. That is what I learned from watching this video. It's not only about me but those around me that I can affect with The Lord as my co-pilot. It's like a snowball rolling down hill. Once it starts it keeps going. It might be slow getting there, but that only means that it is picking up pieces (people) on the way. In the meantime my family and friends are catching this contagious bug I have and they are spreading it to their friends. My daughter and I are counting down now. In 2 months we will be on that cruise ship. Our 4 ports of destination in the Western Caribbean really need to keep an open mind about me when I get there. Because I will be spreading my bug to them to. GOD IS GREAT, GOD IS GOOD!!! THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A SMALL PIECE OF YOUR SON SO THAT I MIGHT GROW, LEARN, DEDICATE AND THRIVE IN THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT.

🤷‍♀️ I believe in God and am a Christian. It’s really really hard to explain and sometimes I fall short and don’t understand certain things but I’m open minded and maybe he is to.
