Time lapse of taking the clutch apart and putting it back together. Make sure you drain the oil first, then when you have the case cover off, clear off all the old sealant really well. This is a dry fit so I haven't put any sealant or oil back. You can do it!

No judgement here, but at 5:30 - 5:40, it looks like you originally had the judder spring/seat assembly and the outermost friction plate reversed, and then fixed it when putting it back together.

HOLY CHROME YOU'RE SHARP. That's what the mistake was. I realized it eventually. Thanks so much for watching. You're hired next time I get another Shadow to work on. :p And I'm judging the hell out of it. Myself, that is.

I'm running into this same problem... I've watched him take off and re-install the spring seat assembly several times now and the process looks identical... I can't see what is "reversed" Can you elaborate a bit?

I'm having some trouble out of a 2000 vt600 pulse generators not firing and about to remove the side casing to replace them. This video provides a ton of insight of what I'm getting into here.. welll done, thank you! I'm hoping I do not have to remove the clutch to complete this replacement. Would anyone have any insight into that?

Thanks so much for watching. SO... Looking at my copy of the Haynes Owners Workshop Manual for the VT600 & 750, 1988-2003, section 5-4, illustration 4.8 appears to show both pulse generators can be accessed without touching the clutch assembly itself. I really suggest you get this book (or another if you have a better suggestion!) because it shows this wide open, step by step. Good luck! I believe in you!

Hey I tried to do this job and after I was done I tried to put the cover back on and there’s about a half inch gap. I’ve reassembled it multiple times and still can’t find where the gap is coming from, I’m guessing something isn’t clicking into place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for watching but it's hard to say without seeing it and it's been some time since I looked at it myself. Probably the lifter plate is too high? I genuinely don't know. Good luck. :/

Did you use gasket sealer before you put the cover back on?

It was some time ago but I believe I did, it was from a tube. Don't go overboard with it because you don't want it squishing out and coming off inside the case and clogging up the works, which it can do. Thanks for watching, I hope this helps!

I would assume I had it in neutral so I could roll the bike around the shop, but to be honest I have no idea.

Question: how did you paint your spokes/.rim gold>>>?? Personally , I think there cool

It was actually pretty simple. I took the wheels off and cleaned them very, very thoroughly with concentrated Simple Green, scrubbing with plastic brushes and sponges to get all the grime and light rust off. Then tightly and precisely taped over what I did not want to paint with blue painters tape and newspaper for inside the hub, bearings, etc. Then used high gloss gold or "chrome gold" spray paint. Be sure to paint from all directions so there's no "shadows" from the spokes and let thoroughly dry between coats. Once fully dry it might not hurt to do another coat of gloss over that. what bars/risers are those? I have some wide drag bars, and they just aren't helping my back.

Thank you for watching! I honestly have no idea about the risers and bars. I THINK they are just stock that come with it. If you look up the OEM and get the dimensions, you can compare it to what you have now. Good luck!

My clutch lever dont have tension. Would that be the clutch or something else

I'm not a mechanic but if you haven't already, follow the cable from the handle to the transmission. Make sure the cable isn't snapped, stretched out, or needs adjusting. If that's good then it may be the clutch is worn out, or the lifter springs went bad or something like that internally. I really recommend getting the Haynes shop manual if you haven't. I tried replacing my 07 vt750 clutch and springs last night. I wasn't going to pay nearly $400 for the honda clutch plate holder tool so I decided to use a crowbar. Worked great when taking the center lock nut off, but i broke the pressure plate when trying to put it back on with the new friction plates in. lol Are you using the ridiculously expensive honda tool in this video, or it that an off brand one? Please let me know! I'm waiting for the new pressure plate to be delivered so I will need a solution (one that hopefully doesn't cost $400) for next week : ^ )

You have to use a torque wrench to not tighten the plate down too much. Stick with the specs! I used the EBC Clutch install tool from Parts Giant, www.partsgiant.com/p342035-ebc-clutch-installation-and-removal-tool?m=480408&gclid=CjwKCAjwmv-DBhAMEiwA7xYrdw4SKWzidYtyPan78XLb9UX7miaAtyBD_uiYk326C-538gdynAcHVhoC6PUQAvD_BwE It's like $40 for EBC Clutch Installation & Removal Tool Item Number: 342035-480408. You have to select your make/model/year but that's it. Worked really well. But USE A TORQUE WRENCH on that pressure plate, I did the same thing! You can do it! I believe in you!

What size socket did you use on the lock nut?

It was some time ago but I believe it was something like 24, 25, 26mm. The book says 18mm but I think that's the internal diameter. Thank you for watching anyway. Hope that helped. :/
